New KH 2.5 trailer and a little more

As we draw ever so closer to E3 on Monday, the gaming world has been struck with a bountiful amount of gaming news this past week or so. With leaks galore, such as a cops and robbers styled Battlefield and a small peak at Nintendo's upcoming game called Mario Maker, we've also been plagued with small E3 teaser trailers on what may be showcased at E3 (whether on-stage or as a game demo on the floor).

It would seem that Square Enix helped lead on the E3 hype train by providing us with a nice trailer for Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD reMix, revealing a December 2nd release date scheduled for this year. The said video is down below:

(If that doesn't work, then boom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ4zo8ieI94)

Hopefully you've watched the trailer now before reading, because I'd rather have you see the whole thing first.

Being a Kingdom Hearts fanboy since Kingdom Hearts 1, I'm going to remain as calm as possible as I type the rest of this.

    SO!

Right before the trailer ends, we are met with an extremely small glimpse into KH3. All we get is two mysterious voices talking about the legend of the Keyblade War and the mystery of the "Lost Masters." What can be immediately assumed is that these two, currently, unknown characters are two of the 13 vessels of darkness. When they refer to their "Master," it is a clear reference to Master Xehanort. The more confusing part comes when the first voice asks the second if he is familiar with the "Lost Masters," the second voice claims to not be familiar with them. The first voice then, I assume, quote the "Lost Masters" by saying, "On that land shall darkness prevail and light expire. But you knew that, didn't you?"

What do you guys think? Any ideas and interpretations greatly appreciated! And remember....the hype train is real!

UPDATE: Knew I saw that line about the darkness will prevail and light will expire somewhere. That is an almost direct quote from a character from the Kingdom Hearts X PC Browser game, exclusive to Japan, which takes place during the Keyblade War and has players all becoming Keyblade wielders. A character named Chirithy, will have to look into them later, says:

"You've really shaped up as a Keyblade Wielder, haven't you. Uh-huh, you're looking really fine, too! I think it's time to tell you, then. Before my master, He who created me, disappeared, He bestowed His six followers with new names, and gave five of them a tome of prophecy. These five followers, who were to become the Foretellers, read the future written in the tome. "The war in that place will lead to the defeat and destruction of the Light. The World will be enveloped in eternal Darkness." In order to save the future World, the five Foretellers thought to use the power hidden in the tome of prophecy. That's the power you are all using now. Through the cards, you are using the power of the future to try and protect the light from the darkness, and avert the future enveloped in darkness. Also, as you know, even though the five Foretellers share the same goal, they by no means share the same will. So, you mustn't lose sight of it yourself."

So clearly these six followers are the said "Lost Masters" or at least five of them are. Besides the question of who the two men in the trailer are, I think the question as to who/where this six follower is is rather important. Whether this could be a potential storyline following the conclusion of the Xehanort Sage or just a villain in Kingdom Hearts X. Chirithy also says that, "...even though the five Foretellers share the same goal, they by no means share the same will." Perhaps in KH3 Sora will encounter these Foretellers or "Lost Masters" and they very well may prove to be a very pivotal focal point in the plot. Or, as I said earlier in reference to the sixth one, could prove to be a focal point in future installments.

Haha, I totally agree man. Hopefully on Monday they don't rehash that same small trailer and give us some real cinematic action or gameplay!

I actually hope they talk about Mirage Arena and what they are going to do with the Online that comes with it.

I really wish that they would release KHChii for other countries. I mean, they're probably going to, but it's so unfair we have to rely on fan translations to get any idea what the story is about. Anyway, thanks for the thread, it's really nice.

Just doing my part to keep everyone informed, especially on X since I hadn't even heard about that game until October or November last year. Given the whole set during the Keyblade War plot, I'd love for it to come to NA and the UK. Definitely feel as though that we're not only missing out on a, probably, good game but also on veeery important details, like the Foretellers/"Lost Masters"

Mhm. I'm going to do some research and see if perhaps I can figure out who's voices those are. Just gotta do a little research and I can probably listen to some examples from within the series and see if I can make some guesses.

It's beautiful... KH II and BBS will always be my two favorite games in the series, I'm tempted to get a PS3 just for this game, too bad I'm too much of a poor college student to do that.

*Side note: I'm going to move this to Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix + / 2.5

From countless google searches and my own thoughts, I'm going to guess that the two voices we hear at the end of the trailer are a young Master Xehanort and young Master Eraqus.

This is backed up by me listening closely to the Japanese VA for young Xehanort from KH3D.

Seems to me that the folks at kh-vids.net already analyzed the teaser and have come up with the same thing that I just said. Kingdom Hearts 3 Teaser Analyzed | KH-Vids | Your ultimate source for Kingdom Hearts media

Oh gosh... That was AWESOME! Just everything about that trailer! HYPEHYPEHYPE! I'm gonna watch it a few times later and see if I can spot anything. But meh, I'm sure I won't be finding too much. I like to leave the guessing to others.

And yeah, they need to give us something that feels like an actual reveal. Hell, I'll take a new Heartless, haha.

I don't care much about the II.5 trailer, since I don't own a ps3 and don't really see the need to get the remakes, but omg the trailer for KH3! Now, that has me excited.
