I was asked to bring this back but right now, I am thinking about it and I am not sure as to whether or not anyone will actually post.

I am willing to restart it but I am not willing to just start it and no one do not even think about posting at all like last time. Before I even think about restarting it, is there anyone who is willing to join it. This roleplay has no ending and is continous. If there is something within the rules that you want change, let me know and I may work around it. If I do not get any input on this roleplay, I will not waste my time to bring it back.

    Rules:

    1. No powerplaying or god-modding.
    2. Six sentences or more.
    3. No Spamming.
    4. You can create a template based on yourself! If you don't want to do that, you can create your own character if you like.
    5. Do not bring back or use characters such as Xemnas or the like unless you have my permission. Characters from other games can be used within the roleplay for more fun.
    6. This roleplay is not just for fighting. It is also for interacting.
    7. Everyone will have a keyblade of their own choosing if they like. Kingdom Key, Oblivion, Oathkeeper, Ultima Weapon, Kingdom Key D, Omega Weapon, X-Blade, Master Xehanort's Keyblade, Lea's Keyblade and Keyblade of People's Hearts are forbidden. You are allowed to make up your own keyblade but if you want a keyblade, you need to EARN your way to it.
    8. If you lose a fight, do realize that your character will go through a "Cleansing" process where your character will lose a battle/ get killed in battle or if your group that you are a part of loses, then your character gets weaker and is sent right back into battle. If your character ends up using all of his strength while in battle and dies or loses a battle, then your character will stay out of the world for about 3 of your posts (Or more depending on how the fight goes). An exception is if your character is training. If the character cannot survive the "Cleansing" process, then the character will end up staying out of the world for a long while and will end up fighting in a "Void Realm".
    9. This roleplay is basically plotless but actually do have a main plot. This roleplay can go either way.
    10. No spamming.
    11. HAVE FUN!!!!
    12. Do not dare say that you are a "Magnificent Keyblade Master" and that "You can wield so many keyblades" and the like. Don't even try to go there. I have a system set up for the "Keyblade Master" part in case someone actually do want to become a Keyblade Master with their characters. In addition to that, NONE OF US will be nobodies or heartless for characters. ALL OF US are humans from the get go!
    13. This Roleplay is for New AND Veteran Roleplayers so do not shy away from joining! You are a part of this site, you can be a part of this roleplay!
    14. This roleplay will not end at all unless you guys actually want an ending. However, I may end up doing a time skip every now and then.

  2. I'd be very interested, in fact, I was the only one to actually post in the last attempt of this RP if I remember correctly...

I'm a little confused about your rule #8, not only the actual content of the rule, but its purpose as well. Why punish people more for losing fights/dying? It seems like the loss would be punishment enough... just an observation. Also the layout of the rule is confusing. What I get from it is when someone dies/loses a battle/is part of a team that loses a battle, their character is weakened and then immediately put back into battle. In addition, any time a character dies, they have to "stay out of the world" for three posts? Then if they die during the cleansing process they are taken to the void realm for a long while.

    Okay, questions:

1.) Why is someone thrown back into battle after they lose a fight? Who are they thrown into battle against?

2.) Why weaken a character just for losing? Are you trying to discourage fighting in general?

3.) If a character is put "out of their world" for three posts upon dying, how are they also thrown into battle?

4.) What is the Void Realm? How long is "a long while?"

5.) Does the "Cleansing" process refer to being weakened and thrown back into a fight after dying/losing, or does it refer to the three day period of the character being kicked out of their world? Both?

Sorry if any of this seems presumptuous, I'm just confused. Also sorry for the length of the post. I probably could have made it a bit shorter.

PS. Also, rule 12. Does this state that we can't become Heartless or Nobodies at all, even during the course of the Roleplay? Or does it just mean we can't start as one?

I must agree with Kurai. I think losing a battle is pretty good punishment in and of itself. I can stand by that a person who gets whomped into submission should have a probationary period (whether the be waiting through two rounds of posting or a time limit). Or even just playing out their character in a recovering state; after all, recovery is what should result from losing a battle. The rest of it is just overly complex and excessive.

  5. EtherealSummoner

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

... Hee hee hee. I'll explain. I was so influenced by games such as Aion, Dragonfable, Super Smash Brawl and Dissidia.

    1. Thrown into battle actually means thrown back into the world. They can be fighting against anyone exactly at any time in which they may lose against unless they are training.

    2. I am not discouraging fighting. What I was thinking that once they come back, they will not be at their original strength for a bit and will not just come back at original strength like they was before.

    3. Maybe three posts is harsh. Won't take a post. I'll use an npc to explain what was happening with anyone's character who died and how long it took and then put your character back...maybe fin a random location. More dramatic and more room to explore.

    4. Void Realm is a place of people who fell/slain in battle. That is where people fight against one another to try to get back to the KHP world if they did not survive the "Cleansing" process.

    5. The "Cleansing" process is more like trying to keep the person from permanent death. They will be weakened at first but they can regain their strength from there on. This one here I was influenced by Dissidia, Aion and the other games that made me think up of this system. It is applied when

    a. The character battling is killed.
    b. The character battling is way too weak to fight (Means that they collapsed).

Only time this is not applied is when, say, Wayward wanted his character to fight against your character and Wayward's character loses the fight. His character did not die and regardless of not being able to continue fighting, his won't experience the system because it is seen as training.

    6. As for the "Heartless" part... I may accept this... but if that's the case, I may end up those who are humans and heartless into different places.

  6. Okay, I think I understand. So, if a character is engaged in a serious fight and they die or collapse from exhaustion, rather than actually "dying" the player must wait one round of posting, at which point their character will come back to life/recover in a weakened state. This weaker state is called the Cleansing period. During this period of time, if the character dies/collapses in battle a second time, they are taken to the Void Realm where they must fight in order to rejoin the KHP world.

There is only one thing I haven't seen explained yet; What do you need to do to regain your strength during the Cleansing process?

On another note, you said that you got inspired to make the Cleansing system by games like Aeon? Well, in Aeon, like some other MMORPGs, I assume the period of weakness after death is to discourage players from dying, to incentivize them to do their best. This works well in MMOs because most of the combat is Player versus Environment (PvE); when an NPC loses in an MMO, they don't go through a period of weakness and they don't care about dying; "they" are a computer.

That's the difference between MMOs and FRPs. When you apply this system to the Player Characters, at least one player per battle is going to lose and thus enter Cleansing. Every time there is a combat sequence where somene dies/collapses, they are going to get the short end of the stick, making combat generally risky and frankly not fun. That's why I asked if you were trying to discourage combat, because while it doesn't have that effect in Aeon, that's exactly what a Cleansing system would do to this RP.

Also, about the Heartless thing, don't feel like I'm trying to persuade you to add them. I was just curious.

... I was thinking like resting or training to try and get back to get back their original strength or better.

:D You play Aion? Oh my gawsh! We should totally get together if you do! But anyways, with that game, even if you die, they have this "Heal Soul" thing where you regain your exp and strength (But in story plot mode, if someone is not connected to an obelisk, they will immediately die in that game). This roleplay has some of that. However, with all of the roleplay arenas, we always had some where we had our characters weak or die and they come back to fight againbut in other roleplays .like canon, once they die, they are mostly dead for good. This roleplay stops that (Unless you really do want your character completely gone from the roleplay, be my guest).

No no! I do not mind changing the idea. I can. Just that the rule will be taken down and depending on how many people are humans, nobodies and heartless, I will have to make up some places.

  8. Resting or training makes sense, it just hadn't been specified before so I was curious.

Sadly, I don't play Aion, or else I'd love to group up, but similar death penalty mechanics have been used in many other MMOs. Now that I understand you want to use the method as a way to avoid canon death, I see how the system could work that way.

If becoming a Heartless and a Nobody during the course of the roleplay is deemed okay, then I have some plot ideas I'd like to share. I'll PM you about them assuming the rule is changed.

I'd actually like to offer some revisions to the RP to give it more of a persistent world feel.

Alright Kurai. PM me what you want. As for you Wayward, I would love to hear that from you. Here, pm or vm, anywhere is fine with me.

For starters, we could give some sort of backstory behind the world that we'll be in. Certainly, the "KHP" as it is in the RP isn't actually the site. It's just a representation of the site, to an extent.

  12. I'd be interested in helping with the world building as well, if that would be alright.

Well, KHP is a planet and not the site, that is what I had planned already. KHP will be teh world that can be connected to other worlds for people to travel and I was thinking of how KHP was formed by three mighty men and used their powers to create the world of KHP. They then left with no traces behind but before they left for good, they gave charge to people to overlook and protect the planet. After that, I can just go on about how it propsered and had many battles since then. That there would be the basic background of KHP.

This seems interesting, so I'd like to help with the world building too, but I have a few questions

    1. how do ablities work, do we gain ablities as are characters level up, or do we gain them by doing certain things

    2. Is there a level system where our characters can level up

    3. Concerning rule 8 why base on an MMO, just so people can avoid death, and why have it, so that only if they're training, can they not get attacked and die.

    4. how do houses work in this because if people can get attacked anywhere there must be at least some safe places, where they cannot fight, right?

those are all of my questions.

1 & 2:. I had the idea on the abilities... but it has been so long that I forgot so I am most likely will be changing that.

    3. Hm... how about this. Should we take out hte CLeansing system? If that is bothering people, then I will take out it.

    4. Yes, there are places where it is safe. Houses are one of them.

As I recall, abilities were gained by completing tasks or missions or something like that.

Though I understand the cleansing process, I think it's best to get rid of it. I don't think anyone would be fighting anyways after being beaten in battle. We could just encourage people not to constantly pick fights one after another.

Really, well we should at least have a level system. Because it would probbably take to long to get more ablities, and really it would be better if they were hidden ablities that they taught you for helping them.

EX. Deblitate( enemy's attack, defense, and speed down) only for the most dangerous tasks, would a character earn this ablity(because it would be too much power otherwise)

Yeah, I'd agree, get rid of the cleansing process

Having a system of levels wouldn't suit the sandbox nature of the RP.

  20. I'd have to agree with Wayward; in fact, I don't think a leveling system suits Forum RPs in general. That's just my opinion, of course.

I also approve of removing the Cleansing system.
