Beloved -A Tragedy of Time

October Elizabetha awoke to the sound of her alarm clock beeping wildly to a very annoying tone. She turned to shut it off, annoyed at the abrupt interuption of her sleeping haven. She couldn't open her eyes due to the soft rays of light peeking in through her closed blinds. She tapped her hand until she found the snooze button. October Elizabetha turned over and slammed her face into her black covered pillow. Just a few more minutes is all I ask! October pleaded with her self, but her consiousness began to think other wise.

October slowly began to wake and she rubbed her black eyelinered speared eyes. She knew she needed to wake up and to get ready for school, but she wanted to sleep more. Why did Mondays have to be so difficult? October sighed and sat up, pushing her Jack Skellington over and stumbled out of bed.

October walked grougingly to her personal bathroom and turned on some warm water to wash her face off. She walked over to her shower and stumbled in to wash off. The hot water feeled good against her cool, pale skin. After wards, she threw on a towel and walked over to her wardrobe. She didn't really know what to wear yet, but she picked something out in five minutes.

October finally left the house, backpack and laptop in hand and walked out of the house. She wore simple black skinny jeans with chains hanging round the theighs, a Asking Alexandria muscle T-shirt with a black cami underneath it. She topped her outfit off with black combat boots and several rubber bracelets and rubber bands.

October walked over to her her black Mustang. She slithered into the driver seat and set her backpack and laptop case into the passenger seat. She turned the car on and it purred quietly. October slyly smiled a bit and began to pull out of her drive way.

 

October Elizabetha pulled into the school parking lot. There were other students that were arriving and she sighed frustratingly as she pulled into a parking spot. I The last thing she really wanted to see were other people who she classified as preppy and obnoxiously annoying. Through the whole summer she had only ever spoken to Luke, her best friend, but evidently as she glanced around the parking lot, he was no where to be seen. Skipping out on the first day, aren't we Luke Kessler? October Elizabetha thought while slithering out of her car, books in hand.

As she walked up the stoney path towards the school, she stopped for a moment and looked down at her schedule. Out of all classes she could possibly have for first block, she was stuck with Literature. Which wasn't bad at all considering she was a talented writter, she just couldn't seem to focus in the morning. Some of her finest pieces she had put together in a binder were usually done at night. Speaking of which, I need to buy another binder. October Elizabetha thought, thinking of her already crammed binder full of her pieces from over summer vacation.

Brittney dotted ovre herself in her long vanity mirror. She fluffed and twirled out her pink skirt. It wasn't too short, but it was still unacceptable for her mothers' taste. Brittney curled her long beach blonde hair and batted her long lashes. She grabbed her purse and through on her jean jacket over her white tank top. Running down stairs in her knee high white boots and hot pink socks peeking over the edge her mother nearly dropped her coffee. "Brittney Ann! You will not be leaving the house in that attire!" Brittney rolled her eyes at her mothers' squelled yell. "Mom, it's fine. It doesn't show anything." Brittney walked out of the house and opened the front door to her pink glittered Volkswagen Bug she had recieved just recently for her 16th birthday.

October Elizabetha looked at Toby with slight disgust. He was always known to be such a guy. Then she shifted her attention to her kindergarten crush, Luke Kessler. Her heatbeat must have skipped once she saw him. She had liked him since sixth grade. They were always so close, but would she ever admit that to him? No. Could she ever tell him? Definately not. She didn't want their freindship to perish after all fo these years. She knew she couldn't live if they ever stopped being friends.

October Elizabetha smiled at him. "Hey Luke." October Elizabetha tried to keep her voice steady but failed as it shook a bit on his name. In her mind, she was smashing her head against a rock. What if he were to ever find out about her feelings for him? Would he run away? Would they ever speak again? Its not like he felt the same, he couldn't have felt the same. It was impossible for someone as adorable as Luke Kessler to fall for a stupid "goth" girl like October Elizabetha. At leasts thats what she always thought.

 

OOC - Your character is a bit obnoxious, we might want to tone it down a bit?

October batted his hand away and wrinkled her nose. "Why the hell would I know where she is?" October didn't like Brittney she was pretty much a stuck up prep who wished the world would bow down to her. Like that was ever going to happen. One thing was for sure, if any one were to want somebody, it Was Brittney. Maybe Luke likes Brittney. October thought. She shook her head as the images flew into her mind. She couldn't see them going out, she may be easy, but Luke doesn't like easy girls. Or does he?

Brittney pulled into the school parking lot and beamed as the students looked her way. She loved getting the attention from anyone and everyone, as long as it were her. She pulled into an empty parking space and flung her purse over her shoulder. Walking to the building as if she were on a runway, Brittney caught a glimpse of the black adorned girl. Brittney made a disgusted look, distaste forming in her mouth and held her head high. There was no way this was going down. Two guys standing by her, especially when Brittney wanted them to be by her. Brittney walked over to them and batted her long lashes at them. "What are you two boys doing just standing around when you could be with someone like me?" Brittney asked in a flirty way, flipping her curled blonde locks over her right shoulder.

 

October looked towards the school and sheepishly started to walk away. "Where are you going?" Brittney asked in a high pitched voice as if she were trying to humiliate her. October looked up and she tried to mask her anger for Brittney. Seeing as though they used to be good friends, it was hard to believe, but Brittney went from a total cover up to a total flasher. October didn't want people labeling her on people she hung out with. Especially one who slept with most of the athletic jocks. "I need to get to class." October muffled under her breath. She didn't want to get into a throw down with any one, more less Brittney. Brittney smiled triumphantly and walked over to Luke and Toby and threw her arms over their shoulders as if to be flirty. "I'll just take care of these two, now lonely, guys for you." Octobers face shaded a light red as she saw Brittney practically hug Luke. Her stomach twisted and all she could do was hide her clenched fists deep into her jacket and walked away. She couldn't bare to see Brittney flirt with another guy, but not just a guy. The guy. The one guy she has known forever, the one who she liked but couldn't get in return. Her best friend. Luke Kessler.

 

Brittney was shocked that someone had rejected her. Well, Luke hadn't really rejected her, just kind of went off after that girl he was always hanging around with. It didn't make her mad, just slightyl confused. She wasn't even that pretty, in Brittneys' eyes that is. She could spot so many people, including herself, who are prettier than she is. Brittney simply scoffed softly and turned to walk away.

October scurried away, but not before Luke had caught up to her. He walked beside her and asked how she was doing. His smile. The smile she was falling for. A smile that would make any girl soar. Her heart skipped a beat and for a moment, she forgot what to say. Deep breaths, October. She thought to herself. Theres no need to get all dazey when he is only your best friend. Oh, but she just wanted him to be more. Even though someone like Luke Kessler would never in a million years be with someone as awkwardly challenged as October. At least thats what a lot of people thought. Before he could finally claim her weird and walk away, she cleared her throat and spoke in a quiet tone. "Oh, I'm fine really, just a little bit. . ." Jealous? "Tired. Nothing major really." Except the fact how I just visualized you and Brittney going out. October took a deep breath and released her tight grip. She wasn't about to be on edge and have Luke think she was mad at him. That just wouldn't happen. Yes, she was mad, just not at Luke. Just mad at how sleazey Brittney could be sometimes. Well, all of the time. "How about you?" October tried to keep her voice indifferent so she wouldn't show how she truley felt.

Most of the time, Luke was good at knowing if she were faking her smile from when she meant it. Although this time, she tried to seem as if nothing were wrong. Maybe she was over reacting when Brittney clinged onto him. It probably wasn't even that serious, but to her it did. Luke was her best friend, not the sleazey and preppy Brittney. I bet she didn't even know him that well. She only wanted him for a boy toy, not for emotion and to be there for you when you need to cry. To be there when you need him and to be in an actual relationship, not for certain reasons. October wished she could tell him, but what if their friendship perished? October would have nothing then.

 

October didn't make eye contact with Luke. She knew if she looked at him, he would know. "Even if I did tell you. . ." October began, slightly teasing. "It would ruin everything and I couldn't live with the rejection." October already planned it out. She would tell Luke how she felt. Down the core of her heart. Luke would have the worst look on his face and tell her he didn't feel the same, in the worst way possible. October would beg for him to forgive her and that she didn't mean it. Then he would leave her forever and everything would be ruined. Not that October had the most prestine detail in her "visions", but she imagined that it would go something like that. Even if she didn't want it ot happen like that, she had to think of the reality of things, and not just what she wished would happen. Wishers can't be choosers. October thought. Thats why I am never chosen.
