So we're at the theater saturday making a line for TDKR and I am looking around and I see about the 60% of individuals lifelessly staring at they're phones, no one conversates without checking they're phone constantly, "tweeting" "instagraming" "facebook" and all of this happened within 6 years.

So your observation is that people are becoming more lifeless as technology takes over more and more as we disconnect from reality and into the matrix.. per-say

Exactly bro, pretty soon we're going to be using FaceTime with people next to us.

Don't get me wrong I love my iPhone, it has made my life relatively easier with school. The knowledge of the internet to my reach at all times.

Me i've never had a smart phone never. Really. Nor have i had an Ipod or Ipad. I really have never used internet on a phone unless it was at a store and it was just cool at the time. I still see the world with my own eyes and not that of a IrisCam and i can still find info without Google by going to a libary and painstakingly going threw the many books and reading. Like i hate Nooks and all those cuz it takes away from the feel of true books, if i was rich i might get one to use with comic books lol but really i think the world is being sucked up in Modern times and im happy im not in it. Like FB or Twitter is all boring, the best websites i have ever found has to be Cracked, Youtube, Yahoo, and here of course!!

Give reddit.com a try you'll love it. I agree with you though the world is becoming one huge trend in which everyone follows, well not everyone. This need for attention from strangers on Twitter is sort of weird, I have a FB because it's a good way to keep in contact with old friends and people I know but some people have 1000+ friends and they only talk to 7 of them. Lol

An eh reddit is funny but not my favs. Hopefully people will wake and see the world is being destroyed and people need to start doing something about it or else! Wasting time online is just lame to me, most of the time im either reading somethin for college classes or im on here lol

Lighthearted & random train of thought, after thinking about the doom of interpersonal communication: there's a scene in Wall-e (Pixar love) where two people are facetime 4.0-ing while sitting next to each other.

There are definitely better uses of time than social media, granted they kill time, but I've noticed people have much more difficulty presenting themselves in the post-Facebook era. Time for a little bit of human introspection, eh? :p

    Agree ^

I used to be on FB like 24/7 out in public on my iPhone, but then it got old and I started to notice I was missing out on things in life. I barely will use my phone's internet unless its to pull up a map, search something up on the internet, to check a spelling of a word, or when I am really really bored doing nothing(aka at work on my 15 min. breaks).

But yeah, and I still feel guilty with being on the computer all the time, I hope that's going to change some though soon.

The whole FaceTime thing and texting I really don't do often. I either call somebody or Facebook message them one time and wait for a response.

Oh most certainly, I think it's a shame that so many people refuse to pick up the phone and make calls but are so ready to shoot off a hundred two letter texts per minute.

I'd say at least you're doing something productive on the computer (this forum) and I dare say that's more than most people...so, cudos to us ^^

It may make you feel better to know that I always call people or walk to their houses.

I actually don't have a cellphone. Why ? I don't believe in wasting an insane amount of time texting people when there's always perfectly normal people sitting around me that I can talk with and have a true conversation. It's terrible too how people keep egging me on to get a cellphone and, to be dead honest, I don't want to be one of those people who are texting the people that they're sitting right next to ! It happens and I find it's so sad. Technology is becoming too consuming for some so I try my best to avoid the more ridiculous things. Frankly, the only good use of a cellphone is to call somebody in case of an emergency, but I'd honestly like to know how many people do that. Probably if some psychopath was chasing them, they'd tweet about it on twitter xD

I also don't have Facebook, Twitter, Myspace (is that considered obsolete now ?) and I don't MSN chat with people who live in my neighbourhood. The simple reason for that is because if I ever become so lazy that I can't walk or call people who live twenty minutes away from me, then what's the point to life ? The only thing I use the internet for is to look things up, or to visit here for a few hours.

That is all, with respect to technology. I tried to avoid ranting about it >_>
