What was the problem?

After having gotten my hands on a copy of Re:Coded (Unfortunately just borrowing it) and having beaten it, I just gotta ask something. What issues did people have with it?

Honestly, I didn't find much wrong with it. The gameplay is great and managed to tweak the BBS battle and growth system in a way that made it a bit simpler.

Out of the three things that bug me about the game, they're all kinda minor in my opinion. The majority of cutscenes are similar to Re:CoM's, utterly devoid of any voices. The game itself is too short (I beat it probably in less than 14 hours). And admittedly it doesn't seem to deviate too much from KH1's storyline. I suppose if it would've unveiled more stuff about the future KH games it would've been much better.

I have bought this only recently and am currently at the Olympus Colliseum part ( love the turn based stuff by the way ! ) and i also find this game alot better than most people made it out to be. Hell i can't even think of anything i disliked so far ;O
    Whereas with 358 / 2 days i can... ALOT...

I think the reason most people shun this game might be people tht were more hooked on KH's storyline and characters than the actual gameplay ( if you can see what i mean ).

For me KH games have always been the perfect formula for gameplay, not just something i plow through for the story... ( wich i still love to death btw ! )

Anyway i hope i made some sense here xD
I'm off to play me soem Re : coded ! ;D

You dont like Days? Did u lost ur mind? Days can kick re:coded's ass with his eyes closed and the hands and feet tied to his head,i dont like re:coded cuz i dont like that Wonderland keyhole thing when u shoot orbs at the enemy,i dont like the trophy thing to unlock Signs of What's Next i only have 7(lame)and please dont compare it to BBS,BBS is too epic to be compared with coded crap

i think Days over powered you character. I kicked way too much butt in the game. I mean its not fun when you dont die during a game.

I agree with XNihiri. I liked Re:Coded so much more than Days. Of course, to be honest out of all the KH games Days is the one I like the least. And I found Days to be fairly easy, only took me a week to beat. And it was only a week and not sooner because I had school at the time. And if you want to compare the two games (Admittedly deviating away from the topic slightly), I've found that the gameplay for Re:Coded is better than Days.

They keyhole thing was easy and what is wrong with getting 20 out of 30 trophies to unlock a secret ending? Easiest unlock conditions out of all the games. KH1 you had to lock all the keyholes, finish the Hades Cup alone, and I think find all the dalmatians. KH2 you had to either get 100% in the journal or finish Proud Mode. And BBS was the same as KH2.

The only comparison I made was the game mechanics. Which parts of it (Unlocking abilities on your growth board or whatever instead of synthesizing commands in BBS) I found to be better than BBS. With the abilities there isn't as much customization, but Re:Coded is too short to have something like that.

I rented KH:ReCoded and I beat the game as Riku and Sora. The Riku side story is more easier to complete than the Sora story. With the Sora story, you actually have to save up on cards and make sure that you are fighting correctly or you will end up real weak. I enjoy the Sora Story mode more than I do with the Riku story mode. I love a challenge; -__- Never had a chance to find ALL of the secret treasure places though.

Wrong thread. We're talking about Coded, not Chain of Memories.

*Facepalms* My bad. Saw the Re and I was thinking of Chain of Memories. Anyways, as for Coded, that game, I HAVE NOT BEATEN yet. My cousin still has the game so I might start asking her can I borrow it from now on. The game is good but I tend to tire out from fighting more and more bugs. I end up deciding to level up throughout the same stage... I do not think that I pass the Wonderland world yet. -_- Too bad that we cannot go back to a world.

  10. Reprise

    Reprise Semi-present

I think the reason why a lot of people prefer every other game to Re:Coded is that Coded, in my opinion, was as filler as a KH game could get. It was probably just an excuse to test out game play to see what fans like in preparation for KH3D. There wasn't really anything inspiring me to finish Coded(although I did anyway), whereas the Days storyline was at least gripping enough to make me want to continue playing through it, even if the game play was repetitive.

But that's just my opinion. Other people might think differently.

It felt a lot like Chain of Memories. Wasn't completely. It wasn't even Sora or some major character.
