Letters to Humanity

I had no idea were to put this so I randomly picked a spot. I write things down when i think of some deep things and i thought I would share them. To keep with the fiction a man will be sitting in a chair talking to his guardian spirit, you guessed it, Sepherious.

As the clock tolls 12 I must say that some strange yet wonderful things come to my mind. Perhaps i ought not to be surprised as midnight IS the Witching Hour were all things are not completely as they seem. The uncertainty of a new day can cause strange thoughts in the minds of those who stay awake long enough. However after some careful thought I have decided that these should be mentioned.

What is life? A beating heart, flesh and bones, talking, acting, moving? What is life? Is it action, reaction, thought, wishes, dreams? If the former is true then the world is indeed a, ah ha, lively place. But if the latter is true then are plants alive? What about animals? Certainly my dog wishes for food and a pat on his head, but does he actual feel the love his master feels with him when he behaves, or the anger when he misbehaves? Does my plant feel love when I water it, or anger when i must prune it? What is life?

And if life is such a strange thing why does it terrify some? Why do some people feel they have to end it just as the mystery is beginning? If a person were to end their lives shouldn't they wait until they reach the natural end of days so as to answer the mysteries? Is it wrong to end your own life? Is there a right time to end ones own life?

I feel the answer to these question is it is wrong. Life is a precious thing. Life is all of the above things. Actions, reaction, hopes, flesh, a beating heart, everything. It is wonderous how such a thing as life has come into being. Remarkable in fact. And yet people chose to end it. Oh at the time they believe they have good reasons such as Debt, or terror, or some other such thing but it is still wrong. If life is precious then destroying it is to be considered a evil act.

And so to cap on my thoughts I ask you to consider this my friend. If someone wishes to end their life and you are with them at the appointed time is it wrong to save them if they want to go or right? Is it wrong to help them? That I leave with you until next time.
