Tales of a Journey (Private!)

"Or. . . we could just wait five seconds." Ranma replied, hearing voices from down the hall. "And, here they come now."

Kinta walked into the room and waved to the two. "Oh, you're back?" "Yeah. What happened while we've been gone?" "Oh you know. . . the usual bullshit." "Okay, crabby Mccrabapple!"

Neli came into the room afterwards and took a seat on the couch. Monty hopped off and addressed the other three.

"By the way, when Audri comes back, I have something I want to talk to you guys about. It involves one of my brothers, a bet, and a tournament, kupo."

"It won't be Nono, will it?" Kinta asked, getting a headache from thinking about the prankster mog.

"No, not Nono, kupo. Just the one you haven't met in person yet."

 

"Wellllllll, I kinda made a bet with Stitzlkin, kupo. There's a massive tournament in the Coluseum coming up in a few days, and the bet was that one of you could make it to the finals, kupo. And I kinda made the bet for a lot of munny."

"Just. . . . how much munny was it?" Kinta asked tenatively. Monty hopped over to him and whispered something in his ear, to which Kinta exclaimed, "WHAT?! HOW MUCH?!"

"Don't worry, kupo! I have munny saved up! I can pay off most of that."

"Do I even want to know?" Ranma sighed, crashing onto a recliner.

"Oh, and there's also the matter of an entry fee, kupo. Unless you win tickets from a random lotto they have then-"

"You mean tickets like these?" Ranma asked, holding up the four slips of paper that the strange white-haired woman gave him earlier.

"Where did you-" "Crazy woman. End of story."

Kinta remarked, "Well, looks like we have a date. Now we just gotta wait for Audri and that person who wants the bottle."

 

"Well. . . . that's that then. I guess we'll be off?" Kinta announced, looking to the others for agreement.

"Yeah, might as well. Don't want Audri to beat us there." Ranma responded, getting right back up. "It'd be kinda disappointing if she did."

"Better get a move-on then, kupo."

The moogle activated a green marble, causing a green ring to appear in the center of the room. "Come on, kupo. Hurry up." He ushered before hopping onto it and disappearing.

OOC: Accelerate to the coluseum if we don't have any more plans for now?

 

Kinta hopped into the portal without a word, Neli as well, Ranma following suit only after waving to Alice.

~~~One absurd traveling session later~~~

"And if you play with whipped cream one more time, I will LYNCH YOU!" Kinta snarled at Monty as they arrived at Olympus. The Moogle was apparently covered in whipped cream and various condiments.

"What I wanna know is how you even got whipped cream! We don't even have a fridge!" Ranma exclaimed, glaring at the mog. "Whatever, I'm going to go get registered. It goes without saying that Mr. Castle Crasher over here is joining, and so will I. Who else? Only two tickets left!"

 

"Awright! We're set!" Ranma cheered, running over to the sign-up booth, presenting the tickets. Only moments after handed them in, a voice chimed over an unseen intercom, "All Round one contestants to the fray! First bracket, first match: Ranma versus Malisa Jals! Second bracket, first match, Lizbeth versus ______*!"

"Huh, that was really fast. Were we that late?" Ranma asked the ticketer. The goat-man (Just a faun) at the desk shrugged. "You guys were the last four slots open. You're lucky you got those tickets. You should probably hurry to the arena. They're waiting."

"Sweet, matchtime!" He cheered, dashing off towards the arena rooms. Kinta just shrugged. "Well. . . I guess I'll go see Lizbeth's match since I know nobody can beat him this early on. Anybody else?"

OOC: For anyone else following, this Malisa is before the Glyde encounter but right after the whole world mashup thing. Ignore this if you have no idea wth is being said.

"Awright, who's gonna eat my fists first?" Ranma asked, donning his gloves. The hooded figure across from him took off her cloak, and the white hair looked familiar. . .

"Aw, what the hell? Seriously?" He snarled, recognizing her as the one that punched him. "Whatever, payback time, bi-"

He was blasted back by a ray of magic fired from a floating circle in front of Malisa, apparently made while he was blabbering. He got up dazily, bracing himself using a nearby pillar. "Oh hell no," He muttered, sending out the wires. A sphere surrounded him, however, and entrapped him in a field of antigravity. His wires outside the sphere dropped from lack of force, and inside the sphere they stopped working because they had no weight.

"Ffffffuuuuuuu-"

A second ray of magic was fired, knocking him out.

A dark-tawny-haired man pulled off the cloak in a dramatic fashion, smirking with pride. He donned plain brown clothes of the Land of Dragons variety, normally worn by townsfolk. On his wrists, there were two bronze gauntlets with amber gems in them. "Let's go! This match will be over in a flash!" He cheered, shooting lightning from his outstretched arms.

OOC: Stock character. Just an extra character you have lying around with no forseeable use. Usually good for an adversary if you're running low on villians in a story.

 

Monty facepalmed, having followed Riri and watched the match. "That. . . was utterly pitiful. Still, I think that's the first time I've seen his ass kicked outright, kupo."

As Ranma was dragged out by medical by medical personnal and revived with magics, Monty began hobbling over to him. "Come on, let's go make sure he doesn't do something stupid, kupo."

The man responded to the sudden attack by rolling as soon as he hit the ground, managing to about-face her in the process. From under his shirt, he removed what appeared to be a plate of metal, presumably armor, and began channeling electricity into it while monitoring his opponent. Once it was finished, it was a thin metal sword with a serrated blade.

"Alright, I'll give you that one. But I'm not one to let lightning strike twice!" He snarled, lunging forward, electricity running up the blade and arcing between the serrated tips.

 

"Yeaaaah, I thought that was obvious, kupo. After all, this is a tournament. I wonder where Stitzlkin is? . ." The moogle wondered aloud as they reached the now awakening Ranma.

"Ugh. . . where's the bus that hit me?" He dazily grumbled, sitting upright.

"Moving on in the tournament since you got schooled, is what, kupo."

The man fell forward, which wasn't saying much since he was already running forward, but then used his sword for breaking his fall. This failed rather spectacularly, given the face that the sword just cut right through the ground instead of getting stuck in it. This caused him to fall onto his ass in a hilarious fashion. He cursed his luck as he hopped back up and reshaped his failed weapon into a triangular buckler, fitting it onto his left bracer. His right hand formed the fingers into a fake gun, the kind that children made with their hands when playing cops and robbers. He pointed this at the snake girl and uttered, "Bang."

A stream of lightning shot from his fingertip.

 

"A guy who clearly doesn't use magic very much going up against a trained spellcaster, that's who! I didn't even get to use my robot thingy!" He whined, shakily standing up. "Damnit!"

"Well, we'd better see if Lizbeth had any more luck, kupo." Monty sighed, leading the way out of the arena.

"Looks like my little brother is already halfway to losing, kupo." A moogle's voice drifted over, talking to a group of youths, who looked vaguely familiar. "I just heard that one of his four just got beaten, kupo. And this one isn't doing much better! Hah, I love being right, kupo!"

"I dunno. That snake lady looks pretty vicious, huh bro?" One with a beanie said to another.


"Ah-CRAAAAP! Not cool, not cool!" The man shouted as the snake went after him. "That sorta thing just isn't right!"

His look of fright turned into one of determination, and he about-faced towards Lizbeth. Both of his hands went into a claw position, one glowing with purple energy while the other pulsed with electricity. The moment she reached him, he slammed both his hands into her face, one into the bottom of her jaw and the other into the top.*

*Gravity and Thunder charged attacks.

 

"Aw, what did I do? Other than laugh at your misery." He snickered as they exited the area. "Speaking of which, how do you think your brother is holding up with all this craziness?"

"Looks about right. And isn't that the moogle that Monty called to get Sri?" Kinta asked, peering over the tops over the crowd just as the match resolved.

The tail knocked the man into the wall, knocking him out instantly simply due to bad luck.
"And the winner of Match 1, Bracket 2, is Lizbeth! Lizbeth will move on to the second round!" The announcer's voice called over the arena.

"Well, looks like Lizbeth won. Should we greet the Townies?" Kinta mentioned, watching as Lizbeth savored her victory.
