Neo Kingdom Hearts ~ The Forbidden Darkness

((Sorry if the post doesn't connect perfectly with everything else, I tried to catch up as much as I could, just ignore anything I did wrong, please.))

Sitting atop the city at night. His face dry and cold, clothed in a simple, rugged sheet as the man lay tired and worn down from fighting all day against a chimney. Shibuya's eyes twitched and quizzically emoted what was pure amazement and terror as he looked at a shimmering stroke of light appear like fireworks soaring throughout the grey and black sky. Shibuya quickly got to his feet, putting down his face-mask and blindly reaching for his blade and hopping down to the fire escape, swinging his way through building after building like a crazed primate until he landed hands-first about a block away from the action.
Confused and anxious to see what had been going on, Shibuya looked around for a back route towards where the light he had seen earlier had come from. Shibuya looked above at each building adjacent to each other, built almost as if they were staring him down. He saw a woman poke out from her window, maybe in her mid-fifties or sixties looking out at the same havoc Shibuya was missing.

"What's going on?!" He yelled at her, wondering if she herself had a good image. Shibuya turned away as in the distance far beyond where he was heading a scream could be heard, and then more gunshots. He looked back at the lady who took one glance at him and shut her window-blinds in fear.
No one ever treated Shibuya as a hired-gun with any respect.
Shibuya grunted and started running, trying to surpass the cold. He finally made his way to a small alley where he took point and climbed up a wall, back onto a rooftop and shuddered in disbelief. Black creatures of the smog were simply dancing around some children in the shadows below, one of the children actually wielding what appeared to be a keyblade.

"Not possible..." Shibuya mouthed from above.
The creatures then began to attack the teenagers, they swiped and clawed at them. Shibuya didn't have the powers of light on his side, but there was something he could do. In a flash, Shibuya's hair all over his body began to grow at an over-extended rate in a second, and his body typed changed as well from humanoid to lupine. Soon enough he had hind-legs and a tail, and pounced down from atop the building into the streets near a group of the black creatures.

"What the hell?" He murmured.

 

Aquus looked in shock as Kiro passed him, holding what he had sought after. A Keyblade. He was going to chase him, but even with the girl in his arms, Kiro was very swift. Aquus was about to give chase when he was blinded by an intense light, making him unable to follow Kiro. (This did not come from any of your characters, so don't attribute it to yours please.) When he regained his sight, he saw that Kiro, as well as any Heartless, were gone. Disappointed, he started to walk away when he heard the sound of someone landing on the ground. Turning around, he saw a strange wolf-like creature (Shibuya). "Another Heartless?!?" Aquus cried, getting into a battle stance.

 

Shibuya howled and then ran towards the boy in front of him with extreme speed and hopped over him, just missing the boy, and onto the next rooftop. As long as he knew that guy was safe, his job was done over there. Shibuya landed on the street opposite the one before and walked towards the town square; usually crowded and full of laughter and noise, but now brisk and desolate like the rest of the town. Shibuya growled and sniffed at what seemed like something was watching him. He quickly turned around, noticing one of the creatures and howled loud enough so that all of Sora could hear. He ran towards creature like he had done with the boy, though this time didn't stop, but pounced on the black monster, tearing away what he could on the almost transparent beast. Shibuya gnarled and bit the creatures hand off, which magically disappeared in his mouth almost as if the monster had no physical existence.

Shibuya jumped back and circled the creature who regained its arm, and right as he was about to take another leap, the creature began to morph and tripled in size until it had been as big as a building and kicked Shibuya to the cobblestone ground, making him unable to move due to what seemed like a fractured bone in his leg.
Shibuya whimpered in pain, and then got up again, hobbling towards the alley as the giant dark creature created a shadowy ball of spherical blackness within its palms.

 

'Where are they all coming from? There's so much more, something is happening, I know it!' Miya thought to herself when another wave of pain came over her. 'Better question is why do I feel so weak?' She asked herself and Kiro led through the city heartless popping up everywhere, and literally everywhere.

Miya looked up at a large massive tower, with such a brilliant structure a tower that Zarnic, the all so great leader lived in. That's when she saw the heartless come jumping off the building above them.

"Kiro, look out!" She exclaimed and pushed him out of the way as the heartless landed on her. She felt pain shoot through her again as she let out a scream of agonizing pain. The heartless weren't doing anything yet.

 

"That's gratitude for ya," Rai murmured, then jumped through the window as well. It would probably be smart to change into something else at some point. Til then, he ran onward to keep up with the kids. What he saw after catching up was something that severely disappointed him. "Oh." Before them was a hoard of heartless. Rai flicked his blade up into en gaurd'e, and prepared himself mentally for a long fight.

 

"Aw, crap. Um, Kiro?! What am I supposed to do about your hou- screw it they're long gone." Sei grumbled, hopping back over the couch, then crashing onto it once again. He leisurely reloaded his pistol and fired at the few remaining heartless in the house as he lay there. "The door is busted and he decides to run off with Miya for no reason. Whatever, his problem. Though, I should save that munny. They'll probably need it soon."

Sei got up and picked up the container of munny, storing it in his sidebag before pacing out the door. And then he noticed the head of a towering heartless several blocks over.

"Aw, damn. That's just wonderful. Well, I could wander around it. . . Nah, I think I need the exercise." He contemplated aloud, completely ignoring the other bystanders in the brawl. After all, they seemed to have things under control. And so, Sei dashed off to the area where the Darkside lay waste to Shibuya.

"Yo, watch for the stream!" He called to the wolf-man, whipping out his dagger and firing a torrent of flame from it.

 

Aquus, seeing Sei, gave chase to him, "Wait! Do you know that guy who ran off with the girl?" He asked, not recieving an answer. He eventually came upon the Darkside, and he held his sword at the ready. He looked at the wolf-man and the pistol wielding boy. "We can take this thing if we work together!" He called to them. Inhaling deeply, he stomped his foot before teleporting in the air, landing on the Darkside's head, "Excuse me! Wolf person! Get that other guy and both of you get up with me! this is it's weak point!"

 

Not used to taking orders, Shibuya stumbled uncontrollably towards the fountain in the dead center of the square, coughed some, and then managed to take a sip of water to regain some strength. His leg wasn't doing well, probably broken just as well as bruised, but Shibuya knew he had three other good ones to take its place.
Shibuya grunted, assuming his own battle stance as he recalled what the boy on top of the monster's head had referred to himself as before.

A heartless? Shibuya thought. Nah. Wouldn't be... ...couldn't... be...

Shibuya shook off his anxiety and a little bit of water on his fur, and then went to work once more. He first howled to confuse and disorient the 'heartless'-like creatures. The crawled on their hands and knees now, unable to concentrate their powers on him, so Shibuya took the text step and attacked, jumping on the black creatures and tearing them apart and biting their limbs off as well.
Shibuya hopped back, knowing that the pain in his leg had been getting progressively worse, and after taking out what almost seemed like another seven to ten heartless, he stood back and fell to ground once again. Whimpering his pain away.

 

Rai lunged at the heartless on the girl, cutting several off of her in one swing. They seemed really preoccupied with this girl, though Rai couldn't figure out why that was. "Keep her safe," he said to the boy before running into the thick of things. It looked like it was going to be a hopeless fight, and Rai's kimono barrier was already activating. He pulled out two more marbles, one yellow, the other green, and thew them into the thick of things. Each erupted into a stream of light that killed several heartless in one go. It probably wasn't enough and he only had so many. It was going to take a miracle to kill these things.

 

Kiro left Miya in the company of the mysterious man who tried to save her, then ran off into the gloomy night of Sora, attempting to find a secure place to understand his new weapon.

Sei watched as Aquus teleported his way onto the Darkside, somewhat envious.

"Aw, I wish I could do that." He sighed disappointedly, looking at the heartless at the feet of the colossal one. "Wait for it. . . Wait for it. . . JUMP!"

Sei ran towards them and grabbed one, tossing it up high in the air while snagging a second onto his dagger. He Mario-bopped the closest one to him then threw the one on his dagger downwards, launching himself high. Just as the first one he threw had reached the apex of it's ascent, he grabbed it and threw it downwards as well, achieving even more height. He just barely made it to the hole in its chest, grinning as he coughed in perspiration.

"Hah. . . I really should have worked out." He breathed, snagging one of the tendrils of hair of the creature and used it to slingshot himself onto its head. "Remind me never to do that again, that was HARD!" He told the mage, holding onto a tendril to steady himself.

 

Shibuya jumped up on his feet again. As a giant 300lb wolf, Shibuya knew he had to make at least somewhat of an impact on the giant monster. The other smaller versions of the great one were all dead by now thanks to the paws of himself, and the others he was fighting along side with.
Shibuya gained some of his reserved strength and took point at the bottom of the building, climbing the wall with his feet and crossing each building after the next until he was at the building right behind the big monster.
He saw a man hanging from one of the hairs of the beast, trying to climb his way toward the black follicle, knowing exactly what he was going for, Shibuya assisted the man by howling, disorienting the dark beast and turning its attention towards him.

The monster took a tight fist and smashed the building Shibuya had been standing on right before he jumped and threw himself at the monsters face, clinging on with his claws and biting its eyes out.

 

Cavus stood at the window of Zarnics tower overlooking the fight of the two humans and the wolf vs. the heartless. He watched as one human (sei) and the wolf took out the heartless on the ground and made their way up to the head of the darkside. well this is slightly more boring then i was hoping for he thought to himself, and he conjured up a dozen soldier heartless when out of the corner of his eye he saw another human wielding what looked like a keyblade. that human can be of great use to me...or else be rather large thorn in my side, let me see which he'll be and he conjured up a half dozen more soldiers to give chase to the keyblade wielder. "hahaha this day has just got interesting!" he said as he backed away from the window, having lost interest in the battle with the darkside, "lets go find my champion" as he left the mansion in pursuit of the soldiers he had just sent out

 

Rai blinked a few times, then got on his game face. "Ok then, lets get to work then." He charged forward at a row of heartless, and swung his sword through them. The blade, which was composed of pure light given a physical form, ripped through the heartless effortlessly. After that he pulled a pen from his pocket and used it to write symbols in the air faster than he could with his finger. The pen was only capable of two spells a day, but this seemed to be one of those important times were speed was of the essence. The spell became a ball of fire that rushed at the Darkside, striking its naval. It paused in pain, and gripped the struck area.

"Now! Kill this thing!" Rai yelled at the two on the creature.

 

((That seemed quick, especially the last sentence. lol, it's cool, a good post to get us started again.))

Shibuya had fallen towards the ground when the boy had used another illuminating attack that sent a beam of light flying towards the great dark monster. Shibuya sat up and made his way to the fountain's side where he sat and changed back into a human, "Agh, you gotta be more careful with that toy, I think it blinded me!" He exclaimed rubbing his eyes until his pupils shrank and his eyes got used to the photosensitivity Shibuya was used to.

"Hey... what's going on?" Shibuya panted, finally the town was quiet, and these kids had some explaining to do.

Miya nodded. She didn't have a keyblade like Kiro, but she would still fight. She nodded. She looked at the other people standing around.

"Thanks for the help." She said to them quickly and smiled back at Kiro. "Who would have thought, you'd be the next keyblader. Anyways, what do we do now, do we head straight to government and take him on or what?" she asked.

 

Crap. Craaaap Crapcrapcrapcrapcrap-

"OH CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!" Sei shouted as the head flew from the body of the creature, desperately clinging to one of the tendrils. He began to run on top of it in midair, causing it to spin as it fell. It soon landed with a thud, bouncing the teen off and onto his rear. "Owww."

Getting up and dusting himself off, he walked towards Kiro, Miya, and Shibuya, rubbing his backside as he did so. "Dude, remind me never to get on top of a monster again. That was painful, and I didn't even do anything." He told Kiro before turning and addressing the man within their group. "I've never seen you around here before. . . just who th' heck are you?"

 

"My name is Raishuzu. I come from a place far away and noticed the trouble you've all been having. I hope I can be of help to you during your fight, if you'll have me." Rai was impressed with the strength of this rag tag group. Perhaps the fights to come wouldn't be as difficult as he had initially thought.

 

"A place far away...?" Miya asked crossing her arms. "Wait are you saying you're from another world?!" Miya exclaimed. Miya looked him up and down. She remebered the way he fought, too. She smiled.

"You know magic... you fight well... and you seem rather healthy compared to the rest of us, making it obvious you're from another world. So how did you get here?" Miya asked clicking two things togeather. She looked at the other person.

"What about you, who are you?" Miya asked the other strangers near them.
