gonna have to disagree wholeheartedly there with you Raven. I stick by my opinion that every character is good in their own right, and because of that, any character can beat any character. I'm aware her BRV attacks aren't all that, but they're at least decent. And the strategy mentioned above has helped me win many battles against people. So no, I refuse to admit to that because I do not believe it to be true.

I actually have to disagree. Shantotto may be able to count on Bravery points but she is backed up by the ability to be the fastest of all characters and have the strongest spells that can make the person go insane if they are caught in her blast. More bravery means a stronger attack that can cover a wider part of the arena, making it hard for opponents to escape. Her powers can stun opponents and can even break any guards; Exdeath ability in defense will be useless if that happen. Since she is also tiny, she can escape real easy.

I would also praise her Ex Burst; it allows her to keep her bravery points; this contradicts her attacks to be dependant on bravery and have no worries at all.

Few problems with your thoughts though. First, she isn't the fastest. That belongs to Tidus, Tidus in EX Mode, or Ninja Onion Knight. Second, she needs to get a lot of bravery before her HP attacks become powerful. And, as Raven said, you need the proper accessories to allow her to start out with a lot of bravery. Third, her stun (With the Exdeath scenario). It is true that her Stun attack will stop Exdeath if he's in the middle of using his shield. But he can put his shield up before Shantotto's HP attack will actually hit. And expert Exdeath players can time their blocks to remove Stun's usefulness.

Sorry, but like I said she really doesn't have an advantage against anyone and that's what makes her so difficult to use. She's not fast - she doesn't even surpass Firion in running speed. The three fastest characters in the game are Onion Knight, Tidus, and Bartz. Another thing, strategy is the only way you can win with her and even then you have make your opponent slip up with their strategy.

Of course this is all a reference to an adhoc battle with actual competition - yes it makes a huge difference otherwise.

look, it all depends if u take the time 2 develop a strategy with her and learn how 2 really use her. I suck using the Emperor, but I'm sure some1 out there knows how 2 really use him, making him powerful.

It makes me upset that Terra won't fight at a very close-range with her sword. She can only use it when she is dueling; She would be using magic only all the way.

well, she does have one close-combat move.

So? It would make Terra killing Kefka so easier if she has some more close-range abilities. That way, she can just stab him in the leg and he would instantly die.

well, I don't think Kefka would let her kill him that easily...

Please avoid stupid comments like this. Nobody is gonna instantly die from being stabbed in the leg. Especially somebody who becomes a god.

I don't find it stupid really. I just think that she would at least be able to make a few of the villians fear her. Gods can die too. getting hit in a certain place in the leg may result in death.

How come Golbez has not been talked about?

ah yes, Golbez. What with FF4 being one of my Top 3 FF games, my attention is naturally drawn to him. I find him a quite interesting character, really. I also love how Dissidia did not forget to address the brotherhood between Cecil and Golbez, but it was only glanced over. I hope that their relationship is looked more closely in Duodecim.

I think that a duel between Cloud and the Cloud of Darkness would always be a fun sight to watch. I even support her saying that Cloud is an emo boy.

Strange just how fast you change the topic. You bring up Golbez, and then the next post you ignore him. But more importantly, I think you guys are getting off topic of the thread. Watch it.

how? we're (or at least I'm) talking about how I like some characters.

Thread is about your favorite characters. While I can't say for certain which ones are actually your favorite, I'm saying that you guys are bordering between being on and off topic.

We have our favorites. We are talking about them. Still, we still have to be careful not to be too carried away.

Anyways, when I watch Golbez fight, he fight differently from all of the other characters due to him actually using a move called Cosmic Ray. He don't have that many HP or Brave attacks but yet we are still drawn to use him because we can continue to make our attacks connect one after another.

it's really frustrating to fight him tho. A lot of times when I dodge the swipe, I'm still hit by the magic attack

  19. EtherealSummoner

I think it is because he is well versed in dark attacks.

I gotta say, using cosmic ray was a poor example of explaining how different of a fighting style he has compared to the rest of the cast. You'd be better off using the move Float system. It starts off with a Melee attack and immediately goes right into a spell, accurately displaying his physical strength and magical prowess.

Uhm.. what? Are you stating that he's good to use because you can combo and chain his attacks well? I'm a bit confused at what you wrote..
