lol, sometimes I use Exdeath against my friends, and I'm pretty good with him. It pisses them off :D

A good Exdeath can ALWAYS piss people off, but it takes skill to be good with him online when there's lag abound.

  3. GrandShadow

    GrandShadow I accept your challange.

well, i only got to play when my friend let me borrow his PSP and Dissidia so most characters were already high levels and such so i have no clue how they performed at the lower levels but anyways...

i used Garland the most. i tried out everybody and i don't know if it was how they wee set up or if i just didn't like the characters but Garland stuck out as my best. with him i could easily rip through characters that got close and if they tried to make some distance i could just hit them with my few but powerful ranged attacks. the only time i had trouble was the warrior of light and FUCKING SQUALL! I FUCKING HATE THAT GUNBLADE BASTARD!

Not Squall's fault that you tried to fight close-range with close-range. Garland shouldn't be carrying a big sword anyways. It must be all of that armor that Garland is wearing.

  5. dualblade

    dualblade Break!

    Hehe,Squall pwns all.

Im surprised i forgot about Cecil.I liked playing as him.I played better in as Dark Cecil then Light Cecil, though I was able to use them both pretty good.He did some good damage, and his EX mode was pretty fun.

Never used Garland, but I didnt play as the villians usually. Was playing on my own save file on a friends PSP,but I didnt beat all the hero stories,so I didnt start on the villian ones.

Also,SB,Garland knocks you all down!He needs a big sword for that.Plus,fantasy.Not like his the only one with a big sword anyways.

If Garland can lose to Squall, then Garland can especially lose to Ultimecia. Garland can only cover close to mid-range anyways when he swing that big two-handed sword.

At threat of flame war,or something abouts,Squall defeats Ultimecia easily.Out of many of the oppenents in Dissidia, she was one of the easier ones.Kefka is a better choice when it comes to defeat by magic user, for me atleast.

Also, think about it.Those robes wont do much against a giant sword, easily could cleave her in two.Not only that,he can be pretty fast anyways. Those dashes of his aint exactly slow.As it is,Garland always gave me more trouble then Ultimecia, and I usually use melee characters, with Terra being the exception.

    Why hate him? He's awesome.

Yes, Garland is slow. But his speed is offset by his strength. A fair trade-off. All you gotta do is know how Garland's attacks work.

    :D Hellz Yeah.

Personall, I prefer Light Cecil, even though I think Dark Cecil is physically stronger.

How many times has that line been abused?

Oh good heavens, please do not bring this up again.

One of his attacks has really good range. Although it is kinda hard to hit.

So what Desert? It is my opinion anyways. The only character who I like besides Ultimecia would be Terra, Bartz and Shantotto.

    That's the spirit.

Just out of curiosity, why Shantotto?

You should know me by now. Remember how I can sometime act arrogant or say something that does not make sense or I tend to know something that I am not good on a few things but I won't admit it: Shantotto resembles me at times.

Still, Shantotto is very powerful. She can really delay her enemies and can even take away their bravery points real fast. She is the master of all four elementals too and I really like her laugh.

I'd have to disagree with that. She has two delaying attacks. One of them is too easy to dodge and the other is completely annoying and almost useless. And honestly, she can't take away that many brave points fast. She has three brave attacks that take away brave points. One of them is a three hit combo, and it is kinda weak. Her other one she throws her staff. I find it more useful only because it allows you to enter a chase sequence. And as for her third one, Bio or Poison or whatever it is, it is also easy to dodge. And her HP attacks suck unless she has 6000+ brave points.

    But, like you said before:

Wow I forgot about this thread for a moment.. >.>

Garland is actually a decent character who, like desert mentioned, trades his speed for his offensive power. Also a little thing to note, speed doesn't help a lot in the game, when everyone can use omni-air dash which allows the character to fly across the field at a high speed; of course certain characters move faster, but they're all generally fast that's the game becomes a lot of careful planning and predicting your enemies next move.

It can help though. Personally, I don't use Omni-Air Dash (I prefer being able to move up and down as I dash, and I only dash towards my enemy or an EX crystal). Having Tidus with a Speed Boost ++ and in EX Mode is completely unmatched in speed. That speed helps for a hit and run tactic.

Hit and run tactics don't work often in battle when you're facing against actual people in the long run. They begin to expect it and protect themselves really well against, and there's also Snooze and Lose to worry about if you don't have a very offensive game plan.

Oh and free air dash is the sh*t. I equip that on most of my melee characters, like Jecht, and also have multi air silde so I can get to the EX core fast.

I feel sad for the cloud of Darkness. She have the fewest attacks out of everyone.

But she has a sh*tload of HP attacks 2 choose from. I equip Omni-Air Dash on all my characters, it really helps me. Btw, I like Shantotto, she's one of my favorite characters to use :3 I employ a strategy where I hit them with Bio, then purposely let them hit me with an HP attack, if the Bio is still active (which it probably is), they are immediately broken, and I get a nice Bravery boost :D

I'm not too sure about that. She seems to have too big an ego. And the fact that she turns into a doll when defeated turns her into a Lethal Joke Character (Read up on TV Tropes if you're curious as to what that is).

Fighter-wise, Shantotto is pretty bad.. Her fighting strategy is almost completely dependent on having high BRV the entire battle - that's not really such a bad thing and equiping the right accessories can make that a breeze. It's just that.. her BRV suck. I'll be blunt. Even the best of Shantotto users have admit that fighting with her is extremely difficult especially against characters that have good fighting techniques. All of her BRV attacks are blockable, not including stop - but that attack does no hits and it's startup is extremely obvious.

With that being said, some characters have no problem against her. Take Exdeath as the perfect example. He can quite literally block everything Shantotto can throw at him, both BRV and HP, and counter with one of his deadly strikes. It's nearly impossible for a good Exdeath to lose to a good Shantotto.
