"And so begins the despare of the challenger." Alex muttered to himself. Yanmega began moving even faster than before. "This is your show now Yanmega. You know what to do." The Yanmega nodded. It turned to the Vespiquen, more dark energy forming. It shot out another Shadow Ball at the Vespiquen.

"Dang." Tom said. "And I was hoping that Jace could at least take out the Yanmega. I don't want my fight with Alex to involve one unknown Pokemon. It puts out too many risks. And what sucks even more is that once Vespiquen is down, it'll be a simple task for Yanmega to sweep away Venusaur and the rest of Jace's Pokemon."

Sora nodded watching the whole battle. This was definately a trainer, a master, that was no play time, igranted the strongest trainer in the world knows to have fun with his battle, but sometimes you need to be serious in battle, this battle and surely all the battles to come would be that way. She looked over at Tom.

"The worst things is now that possibly the last remaining pokemon is Venasuar, it's a grass type, we don't know if Alex's pokemon have fire or wind attacks and if so, venasuar is down." Sora stated.

"Wake up Vespiquen!" Jace shouted as the attack flew at his bug pokemon. The attack hit without fail and Jace was about to grab his pokeball when the smoke cleared and Vespiquen was floating. He saw that she was holding her arm though and knew that the attack hit. "Guess we'll just have to make do with this huh?" Jace said as he jumped back up to his feet. "Alright now, Power Gem!"

Yanmega began to move even faster. Yanmega's movements began to look like a blur. "Yanmega's not going down that easily. Shadow Ball." Yanmega shot another dark ball at Vespiquen. "You should be fast enough now. Shadow Ball again." Yanmega attacked again, all before the Power Gem could even reach Yanmega.

"If Yanmega dodges the attack, that is the end of the battle." Tom said. "And actually, with that speed, it shouldn't be too difficult. Yanmega could actually wait until the attack was about to hit him, and then dodge."

"Not again. Move!" Jace yelled as the attacks neared Vespiquen. With a buzz of her wings the queen began to fly around as quickly as it could to avoid the two balls of energy. "Alright, that's it. Vespiquen! Show him how we use Toxic!" Vespiquen nodded and flew straight up, floating high above the battlefield. As it did it raised a ball up purple sludge that it formed from nothing. It's eyes flashed and the ball seemed to explode, sending the toxic attack raining down all over the battlefeild. "Dodge that!"

Alex sighed. "I really didn't want to do this." He held out the pokeball. "Return, Yanmega." Yanmega returned to the pokeball right before the Toxic hit. "This is it for you." Alex reached for his final pokeball.

"Alright." Tom grinned. "Here we go. The last Pokemon of his."

Alex tossed the pokeball. "Time to end this, Garchomp." Alex's final Pokemon was revealed.

"This looks like its the end for Jace." Tom spoke. "That Garchomp will most likely defeat the already weakened Vespiquen in one hit. And even if Venusaur can bring down Garchomp, Alex still has the untouched Yanmega to finish the job."

"Garchomp, Draco Meteor." Garchomp roared, bringing down meteorites that were even bigger than the meteorites Flygon brought down.

"Garchomp? Your last is a Garchomp?!" Jace shouted as the attack began to launch at Vespiquen. "MOVE VESPIQUEN!" Jace shouted only to watch Vespiquen get hit by all but two of the meteors. As the bug pokemon fell, Jace ran out and caught it before it hit the ground. "Vespiquen..." Jace said as he returned the barely breathing pokemon to it's ball. Jace returned to his spot and sent back out his Venusaur.

"It's all up to you buddy. You've got this Garchomp and that Yanmega you saw earlier. Both are way faster than you without a doubt, and I'm pretty sure this Garchomp can match your power with strength to spare. So, think you can do it?" Jace asked. Venusaur looked at Garchomp and Alex before looking back to Jace an nodded. "You sure? You've got two full HP targets to take out on your own, both are way stronger than anything we've ever faced." Venusaur nodded again. "Thanks buddy. Alright, coverthis place in Sleep Powder!" Jace yelled. The flower on Venusaurs back began to spin as green dust flew out and began to fill the battlefield.

"You know what to do Garchomp." Alex spoke. The Garchomp nodded. He took a deep breath, breathing in some of the powder. "Now, Flamethrower!" Alex shouted. Garchomp breathed out, shooting out a massive flame that reached all the way to the opposite end of the arena. All the Sleep Powder was burnt up from the intense heat.

Tom put his hand up to cover his eyes from the intensity of the flame. "He is just... Crazy prepared. Even if his pokemon have a weakness, they have a move to combat that weakness. Adn they're all powerful moves at that. Venusaur won't survive the attack. Alex has this battle in the bag. At least I can develop a strategy for my battle tomorrow."

"Energy Ball." Jace said calmly. Venusaur charged up the attack and fired it into the flames, parting them away from the grass type before the attack exploded from all the fire around it. "Venusaur is my very best, and we've dealt with fire since the day we started our journey. That little spark won't bother us." Jace taunted. A bad idea to taunt the for and he knew it buthe just never could resist gloating about his Venusaur. "Sludge Bomb." The large pokemon began to gather a large ball of purple slime above it's flower before it glowed slightly and it was launched at the Garchomp at a high arc.

"Flamethrower, Garchomp." The Garchomp shot out another column of flame, destroying the poison ball. "Garchomp, remind this Venusaur about why it should fear fire. Don't hold back anything, not your strength, not your speed. Nothing." The Garchomp nodded. "This should take care of Venusaur. Draco Meteor, Earthquake, then Flamethrower." Garchomp roared. He thrust his head forward while stomping on the ground. Meteors began to rain from the sky. At the same time, the ground began shaking violently, even tearing apart at the force of Garchomp's stomp. Garchomp then looked straight down and shot a Flamethrower in the ground. The flames surged through the cracks in the ground, making the entire arena light on fire.

    Sora nodded towards Tom's comment.

"It's over." Sora spoke. She watched more. 'But for Tom and I, our battles have yet begun, I don't know Tom, but I should have some pokemon to match his, Alex isn't the only smart one, we've trained and not just one status, but all of them. And with my team we've gotten through many tough situations, I still can't think this is a walk through the park.' She thought to herself. She watched the battle more and watched Venasuar stop the flamethrower. Though then she heard it, three moves called out in one the moves also done at the sametime. She leaned forward in her seat.

Sora has done quad attacks before, but they're usually done in a quick sequence, not all at once.

"It's all over for sure! Venasuar isn't quick enough to dodge the meteors, unless venasuar sprouted wings, there's no avoiding the Earthquake, and it be difficult to dodge that flamethrower." Sora spoke. Definately no walk in the park.

"This guy seems to forget a crucial fact. Earthquake, and Energy Ball!" Venusaur used its own Earthquake attack to cancel out Garchomp's, blocking the flames from reachig Venusaur at the same time. It then looked up and began firing multiple Energy Ball's to block the meteors that would hit it, allowing the rest to land harmlessly nearby. When all the smoke cleared from the attacks, Venusaur stood without a scratch. "Everytime you use Draco Meteor not only does it get weaker but so does all your special attacks, like that Flamethrower of yours. So go ahead and jut try to burn us! Venusaur has nothing to fear from your smoldering embers!"

    >I can't believe I didn't notice you posted<

"And yet Garchomp's special attacks are damn near the thing of legends." Alex muttered to himself. "Although it seems he may have Garchomp on a slight tightrope right now. What should I do without needing to resort to Yanmega? I could always force him to use Energy Ball until Venusaur can't do it anymore. Actually, after using it so many times to get rid of the Draco Meteors, he shouldn't be able to use it too many times anymore. Fifteen times at most I'm gonna guess. Flamethrower might still bring down Venusaur in one hit, but after using Draco Meteor twice in a row it is difficult to tell. I could slowly whittle down Venusaur with Earthquake and that other attack. Actually, Venusaur can't stop that other attack. But I really don't want to reveal my entire moveset to this one enemy. I'd like the other two to have some suprises." An idea popped into Alex's mind. "Garchomp." He called the Pokemon, signaling him to go back to Alex. He whispered something in Garchomp's ear. The Garchomp nodded, having complete understanding of Alex's plan. "Flamethrower." The Garchomp attacked.

The flames were much smaller than the flames Garchomp did before. It was still a decent size, but nowhere near as amazing as before.

Tom felt suspicious. "Something's not right. Garchomp should be the strongest Pokemon Alex has. Two Draco Meteors shouldn't have reduced the strength of Flamethrower that much. What is he planning?"

"Sludge Bomb." Jace ordered and Venusaur launched the attack and parried the Flamethrower. "What are you up to? Two Draco Meteors isn't that much of a drop. Unless I'm overestimating that Garchomp of yours." Jace said with a smirk. No, I'm not. After the seond Draco Meteor he launched a Flamethrower underground through the Earthquake. I may have stopped it but still, those flames looked way larger. And how he whispered to it, he's planing something. "Sleep Powder." Again Venusaur began to spin it's flower and cover the field in green powder.

"Burn the powder Garchomp." The Garchomp sent out another Flamethrower, about the same size as before. "Making each other's attacks useless is prolonging this battle too much. Doesn't quite fit my style. Earthquake." Garchomp slammed the ground. Being a physical attack, Earthquake didn't suffer from any weakening from the Draco Meteors.

"Funny. He hates drawing things out, and yet he knows Venusaur is gonna use Earthquake to make his useless. I wonder why."

  16. GrandShadow

    GrandShadow I accept your challange.

"Earthquake." Venusaur slammed a foot down sending out it's own to cancel out Garchomps. What's he planning? Is he trying to avoid using his fourth move? Does he want it to stay secret? Or does it have a condition to be useful like Last Resort? Either way I have to force him to use it or knock Garchomp out. His Flamethrower may be weaker but it can still stop all three of Venusaurs ranged moves and as I have done, Earthquake cancels Earthquake. So unless I really want to risk Gallade, I'm in a corner and he likely knows it. "Venusaur, get up close and launch a Sludge Bomb." Jace said quietly. Venusaur didn't say anything as it slowly began to walk forward.

"Keep the distance between you two. Earthquake." Garchomp stomped the ground, sending out another Earthquake.

"This battle almost makes for a good massage." Tom joked. "But something still isn't right. Why do an Earthquake to keep the distance? Its a Ground type move. Even if it is strong, Venusaur should be able to survive it. And Venusaur could always get rid of it with another Earthquake. I don't see how an Earthquake would stop Venusaur from getting closer."

  18. GrandShadow

    GrandShadow I accept your challange.

"Cancel it." Venusaur sent out another Earthquake as it continued walking forward. Something isn't right, this may be the first time I've ever fought him but even I can see he's holding back. I'm almost positive it has something to do with that last move of his. I mean all he's doing is using two to cancel out mine... That's it! "You're not just wasting time, you're draining my moves! Venusaur, speed up and Sudge Bomb!" Jace said as he figured it out. The grass type broke out into a run and as it neared Garchomp it launched a point-blank Sludge Bomb attack.

"Perfect." Alex grinned. "Garchomp, Flamethrower. Don't hold anything back." Garchomp roared louder than ever. Flames surged out of Garchomp's mouth. The flames were much bigger than the previous two times Garchomp used Flamethrower. Venusaur was covered entirely by the flames. "At least you realized that I was getting rid of your moves. You're perceptive, I'll give you that. But sometimes you're easily misled."

"That explains it." Tom muttered. "When he whispered to the Garchomp, he told him to hold back the strength of the Flamethrower. That would cause a little bit of confusion of Garchomp's strength. And then by tricking Jace into using more Earthquakes, that would lessen the amount of times Jace can attack with Venusaur. He made it obvious enough to have Jace see why he was stalling and get Venusaur to move in close. And then once Venusaur was mere inches away, Garchomp blasts away with Flamethrower. Venusaur's Energy Ball can't dispel these flames, not since Venusaur is completely covered by it. Although maybe Energy Ball can still hit Garchomp and severely damage Garchomp."

Nice battle strategy, it's similar to when I faced Red and I had Charizard. This battle should be over soon enough, a shame for Jace. Oh well, he'll know for next time. Now it's time for Tom's turn. Then mine. Which hopefully in Tom's battle the things I don't know yet will be filled in.

"Well that's probably an end to the night, tomorrow will be your turn, Tom." Sora stated leaning back in her chair. I'm expecting, and hoping this battle isn't over quite yet, if Jace is a champion, he surely knows not to easily back down or get easily defeated like this.
