So I'm replaying KH1, and for fun I decided to see how high a level I could get to before leaving Destiny Islands before I went crazy. I made it to level 17, 15 of which were from the first day alone. Yeah, I got Scan (at level 15 because I chose the sword) which was pretty cool seeing Tidus, Wakka, Selphie and Riku's health. So I was wondering if anyone else tried this and how far did they get?

hey,Im starting again too! Thanks for tellin me the Scan level,I thought of leveling up enough to get it.Wish i hadnt started the end of Destiny Island before reading this.

Generally I get to level 9 or 10 before leaving. For no reason other then boredom, though it will help me since I am doing expert this time.

I'd level up a lot on Destiny Islands, mostly to make sure I could beat Leon in Traverse Town, but also because I liked fighting Wakka/Tidus/Selphie. I usually made it to somewhere in the 12-15 range before I got bored of it and moved on.

    This is me.

I usually get bored of leveling up and just stay at 10, so that I never have to train again after doing so. I just go through the story as normal.

Pretty much the same for me Raven.I almsot never train, though since Im doing Expert now I might.probably only for Seph and Zisa though.

For me, maybe for Seph since he's actually difficult in KH1, but Zisa is easy once you get his attack pattern down - he doesn't have a lot of attacks so it's easy to counter.

Its more dodgeing with me.I always seem to dodge just one second too late.As long as I get through his first stage twice Im fine,I get the timing down for sure by te third time.

I find having the tinkerbell summon activated helps the battle tons since she not only acts as a constant regen spell and an auto revive, but your teammates stay along side you - I'm looking more at Goofy since he can give free MP. And timing your dodges is essential to getting through that battle underleveled.

Made it to level 13 on the first day. After that, level 15 on the second day but I started to feel terrible because I can't fight against Riku anymore but I can go 1 against three with Wakka, Selphie and Tidus and make them look like fools. :D

I actually think Wakka, Tidus, and Selphie are much easier than Riku because no of them have technique that does a lot of damage at a single point - you know what I'm talking about right? Besides I can properly aim one of Wakka's balls at another person to put them out of commission for a few moments.

The highest level I got to was 5. I kept on losing to everyone. When I did leave, it was a pain fighting the bosses.

I think that grinding on the beach was the most helpful. I would just get a ability or two and that just make fighting even more easier.

I kinda feel bad for the people you'll have to fight eventually - Leon in particular, because you'll mos likely take him out in one combo..

It does make those early fights against Leon and Cloud easier, though there is less of an impact by the time you hit Agrabah for sure (if not before, not earlier then Tarzan's world).

As it is,it makes getting through the begining easier and the rest of the game is normal.

I find it funny as I level up through Selphie. Tech points were the big booty to get. Just time your hits right and you can always make her rope pop her in the head. Her and Wakka are tied up in getting easy tech points in my opinion.

Yea,Slephie is the best one for Tech Points in my opinion.

Wakka: 1 TP for each ball hit,can daze him for easier hits and TP hits, but he can be knocked out by his own ball. The special attack of his gives two,but does more damage to him if it hits him.Good for tech points, but its best to not hit him with his ball if you want alot of TP.

Selphie: 1 TP for defelecting her attack, and another if you let it hit her in the head.It does damage, but doesnt seem to take her out, unlike Wakkas. Her spin attack also gives you 1,but doesnt hit her back.Leaves her open though.

Tidus: Some of his attacks give 2 TP points and leave him briefly open, otherwise the only advantage in fighting him is for 2 XP instead of one.

Riku: Only gives 1 TP for one attack, otherwise 5 XP and a potion for fighting him.

I find it incredibly easy to train with Tidus. Getting tech points through him feels much easy than with Wakka and Selphie.

UGH!! Getting tech points off of Tidus is not easy. If you try, you would most likely get more blockings than tech points.

I've got a sweet pattern going on, so it's all good over here.

Its probably getting the timing, some luck, and enough running just right.I actually had all three of those the time before my current KH save, but its been a while and I have forgetten the timing.

Its the same with Selphie in getting her 2 TP instead of one.Get her into the loop of Jump at you and attack, and you can get tons of TP in a single battle.Wakka doesnt need a loop, only time you really need to do anything to get him to attack is when he is just walking up to you instead of attacks.
