This is a suggestion, in my opinion, that I really recommend to all of you so all of you won't end up like I did so don't argue with me.

Antivirus IS is a rogue program that automatically installs itself on your computer and bugs you every 5- 20 seconds. This scam tries to convince you that your PC is in danger and try to have you do useless downloads to try and make you get rid of the "fake" viruses. They will try to make you download a useless copy and infect your PC even more. GOD DAMN IT STOP!!!!! Anyways, they want your money but there's a link that will help you get rid of this evil virus. Hope all of you stay protected. (I SWEAR!!! I WILL THROW THIS COMPUTER TO THE WALL!!!)

Happened to me in the past twice when i was in middle school.Though I dont remember how those happened, the current one can be delt with easily.Just backspace.Automatically stops the program.Easy enough.

Ha, I can laugh because this happened on my work computer last week, though I don't think it was exactly the same virus-I actually had two- one called Antivirus and the other called Security Suite. Both of these damn things stopped me from using my real anti-virus program, refused to let me use system restore to go back to a previous date, and just flat out gave me a helluva time. And I'm still not even sure where they came from, because when I'd left the previous night, the computer was fine. <_<

But RKill + Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware saved the day. And left me wondering why I'm paying for anti-virus protection if it's just gonna let something like this through.

Nope. This also happens to firefox too. It also keeps you from going ot your Windows Firewall or Defender and says that there's a virus that's doing that. Not only that, I also suggested this to all of you because it kept on asking me for all of my passwords on the internet (That means my password for me to login onto this site too.)

"Antivirus IS automatically install itself---bugs for purchase of download due to fake viruses---ask for passwords---ask for scanning---ask for password as owner logs in---SUCCESS TO BRING HAVOC!!!" That's one of the main things why I put it in the suggestion thread because your password may be hacked.

OH YEA!!! Did all of you know that a lot of twitter accounts have been hacked?! THOUSANDS?! Even the White House been hacked!

    That doesn't sound good.

I actually accepted one of those antivirus phonies on the internet 3 times before, but they took such a long time to download that I canceled them.

    Good for you.

Yes there are viruses out there that seem like something but aren't. Trojan's, named for the Trojan Horse, try to tell you they do one thing but are instead malicious viruses that bust up your computer like crazy. These are only marginally less dangerous than worms, and they are to be avoided at all costs. The best way to get rid of them is to only download from sites your computer tells you is safe. Also if these trojans pop up a window on your computer that looks kinda like your computers My Computer window stop and stare at it a moment. Most of the time the window is slightly different from what it should be, a sure sign of malicious activity.

Also if you have the kind of computer that tells you what it's downloading as it does it, keep an eye on it for anything that doesn't look like it has any bussiness in a virus program such as way to many .exe, or .doubleclcik, .ad .

Thankfully AVG, Spybot, and Adaware seem to be pretty good at removing these malicious files. Stay safe.

I dealt with this(or rather something similar, but a lot worst than what you're describing) about 2-3 weeks ago. Made a thread about it, thankfully I got trendmicro on my new computer, and it took care of things.
