I Cant Beat Hook

Oi...Yeah, Hook is a tough one, I also had problems with him.|
I cant remember my Stratagy at the moment but just level up a few times and raise your health.

 

Yeah, for Hook, grinding is key.

 

I am assuming this is for the first memories game. Thus....

If your playing as sora then the key lies in your 0 cards. He knows a lot of very nasty sleights that take your health down in a very big hurry. 0's are the most reliable counter for that, and the faster your 0's are the better.

With his sleights near useless make sure you use plenty of 6 to 9 cards for combat. Using sonic blade, and stun impact is a good way to dish out some damage. Keep in mind that hook can out sleight some of your sleights so don't try to rely to heavily on them. Basic attacks are your best friend in this fight along with healing, and the use of friend cards. It's hard but try to save them up so you can unleash friend sleights for even more damage.

This fight is not really that hard if you approach it the right way. Yeah you can win by just going nuts on him, but you'll need a LOT of health and cards to get away with it. The use of 2 or 3 0's really undoes this boss. In fact, they undo just about every boss in the whole game.

If your Riku

Now this is slightly harder, but not much. Try to use your stronger cards only when necessary and try to save the lower ones for sleights and things. Don't be mad if you run out of anything lower than 6 because they are essentially useless in this fight (hook has some higher cards and he breaks these fast). Do not ever use a sleight outside of dark mode. In fact, shoot for going into dark mode as often as possible. It deals higher regular damage than normal. Saving mickeys also helps quite a bit.

Again do not use your higher cards for anything save for regular attacks. Not even to break one of hooks sleights. Using mickey miracle to heal up is a fine way to stay healthy, and you need those higher cards for regular attacks. That said if you have 3 9's don't be afraid to sleight them because the attack deals some real damage to this joker. Just make sure to chase him to one side of the arena because you only affect half of it with this attack. The other half is relatively untouched.
