Japan just pushed them selves over the limit. I don't think Cameroon saw this one coming either! Such a surprising goal, even the scorer, Honda, seemed surprised by it. Watching the ball come to his feet and just finding an opening to place the ball. Maybe a bit too confident Cameroon and well done Japan.

 

I'm not sure if any of you have heard but there is great regret in Ireland over the World cup. As you can see we didn't qualify, and its not that we have a crappy team its that france blatently cheated in there qualifer match against us and ended up winning. So the whole of Ireland is rooting for Mexico in there up comming match with them.

I'm not all that big on soccor but I think either Mexico or Brazil will win.

 

I can't wait for Italy up against Paraguay. I'm on Italy side. They're pretty tough.

 

well, Argentina just killed Korea. too bad, i was voting for the latter.

1st Half: Argentina scored 2; Korea 1
2nd Half: Argentina scored 3; Korea nil
Results: Argentina with 5; Korea one

 

Wow, after the momentum they had after beating Greece. And the first goal was an own goal by the South Korea.

But, i already choose Argentina before the match started but didn't know it will be turn out like this.

I'm kinda ticked off about the USA vs Slovenia match. It was definitely USA 3 - Slovenia 2. But the ref disallowed one of USA's goal and it's a draw.

 

Netherlands won their game. I didn't watch it but I did catch Australia vs. Ghana game (cheering on Australia again for this game). Great start for Australia with an early goal but then Ghana receives a penalty shot soon after resulting in a 1 all game.

Quite disappointed with the referee, a should be early penalty in the box was not called for Australia. Star player Harry Kewell was sent off with a red card, which I thought was very harsh. Bresciano was tackled hard from behind with the offender receiving a yellow card only and so on. But no more whining, what's done is done I guess.

Interesting game for the first 20 minutes and last 10. Both teams pushing real hard to get the first and attempt a last goal. Australia was all over it, then the goal was scored and they began slacking off again with Ghana counter attacking and ending up with about 23 shots (most which were off target). I think Australia was the better team here though, creating openings and pushing past the Ghana defence trying to make sure their shots were on target. Ghana on the other hand, I didn't see them as an actual soccer team. It was mostly get the ball, get at least half way down the field and shoot.
A shout out for David Carney. Left defender but he kept on running up and down the sidelines as if he owned the place.

Are you surprised? Italy's defense was atrocious.

 

And they lack of leopards in the front. They need Totti and Del Piero.

Anyway, there goes the end of the early stage, its getting more intense. Kinda sad that England will face German in Round of 16.

Well, there's only one thing I know for certain in this World Cup as of now.

Only got to watch the extra time,and damn did we try.But in the end it was a lost cause.Always next time.

 

Paraguay just took Japan out of the tournament; Paraguay beat Japan in the penalty shootout.
