Kingdom Hearts Forums Suggestions

Discussion in 'Archive' started by Reonarudo Butsuchiru, Apr 23, 2010.

  1. This thread is solely dedicated to the suggestion and referral of new things to the site such as codes, games, and whatnot. Depending on how long it takes the staff to respond to these wants (and sometimes needs) we need to keep in mind that not all things are possible. Some of these things will require money and such so understand if you get a few negative answers.

Alright, let's get the show on the road.

I'll start off by saying that we could maybe have a more organized debate section. I would like to maybe set these rules up in an attempt to get things more narrow so we can have better discussion on certain topics that are debatable.

SOTW updates. These are always a good way to get people interested in what we like to see and vote on. It would also be to see that we have the winner's Signature updated in the SOTW thing located at the bottom of the index.

Also, I've noticed that many members are joining yet they have to have their posts approved by a staff member. I would like to know why that happens and obviously, have that stop.

The staff know what there doing, things may not be going as fast as you want them to but the staff are working on it.

Perhaps they do not but there is a significant difference between concept and planning and putting ideas into action. So far the forum is slipping and, though a major part is on the member's shoulders, the staff need to do more too.

  4. I'm not trying to pin the blame here. What I'm offering is things that everyone can do to help out here.

I will address these suggestions, though keep in mind this is my own opinion, and not the official word, or anything like that.

What sort of rules do you suggest to make it more organized? There are only a few in the guidelines now, and I see them broken often enough, or did when the section was more active.

People always say, "Ooh, the sotw needs to be more active!". but lately the turn out has not been great. In what, two or three months, three different staff members have tried their hands at it. I have asked in the suggestion thread if there would be people interested if I revived it yet again, and ONE person has replied in the affirmative. I'm sorry, I might not be the busiest person in real life, but I do have other things to do besides hosting these contests for one or two people to submit something for. Perhaps if members showed they were interested in something besides roleplaying and spam, things like this would be able to work.

I think this has something to do with keeping out spambots. Obviously, it's annoying, but imo, it is really not a huge deal. I haven't noticed the problem much at all lately- which either means it hasn't been occuring much, or other staff are approving the members quicker than I could notice them- either way, it shouldn't be that much of a hardship on anyone.

  6. Well, so I could address the debate section thing I would sort of like to make a standard set of rules and regulations before one would post a debate. I stated before that it would make topics more narrow and on point with having a resolve statement and those who wish to participate in it have there say on the affirmative of the statement or the negative of the statement.

Going to the SOTW I will have to say that you're right. Not to many people are interested. But if more people were around (pointing to activity) the chances of interest getting there would be relatively higher.

Roleplaying has been (from what I've seen) KHP's strong point. We have a lot of talented writers here that for the most part, thoroughly enjoy RP'ing because it gives us something to do in our spare time.

Here's what I think should happen. PEOPLE NEED TO BE MORE ACTIVE! Like I have joined at least 4 RP's in the last 2months and they have all failed. They were great when they started out but now no one is on enough to keep the RP going! The reason I think this Site is slipping is that, it doesn't have anything knew. It's the same old stuff all the time. The staff need's to make a come back, by creating something great and fun. Then the site will hopefully come back to life!

  8. Well then, what do you propose would advocate said activity?

Honestly I do not know. It is the Staff's job to fix these kinds of things. The failure of the site does fall onto there shoulders, but you can not blame them for everything. It is the lack of interest of the site members that has been killing the site.

There are a heck of a lot more members than there are staff. If there is a problem with lack of activity, you all have more potential to make a difference than we do.

Also, if you do not tell us what you want, how are we supposed to do anything about it? We can come up with ideas all day long, but if none of the members are interested enough to take part in any of them *coughvoteinthedamnwritingtournamentcough* it does us little good.

There's nothing wrong with that, but if that's the only place where people are wanting to post, don't bitch about the lack of activity in the other areas. One or two people can't raise the activity level on their own.

  11. Could we maybe target what has caused the lack of interest?

Ya, if we figure out what is causing the death of the site we and the staff can fix the site. And the site shall flurish and be a happy place again! =)

  13. I think that it probably has to do with the decline in average posts per day. Other than that, the site should pick up soon. Summer is coming and people will be less busy.

That is very true, when i joined it was summer and that was the best time I have ever had on the forums ever! Everything was so active!

I've already said that I think people are just busy this time of year out in the real world. Schools will be ending soon- I reckon most people have final exams and such to worry about, not to mention the older ones who may be getting ready for college. I've been on forums for a long time. There are always periods when activity slows down, but it usually picks back up again.

Ok, im just pointing out, that it would be good to fix those slow time's of the site. Ya people are busy, IM BUSY RIGHT NOW, but it's not hard to get on't the forums for 30 minutes every day.

  17. Mainly because people have no school -_-

Lol, blaming it on people being busy with real life is just a excuse.
