What do all of you think about the movies that were made this year? Have they been better? Which movies were your favorite and which movies do you want to see that will be in theater?

Is that not the same as What Movies Are You Anticipating?

I've only seen two movies so far this year, and one of them (Sherlock Holmes) is technically a 2009 movie. So really, I guess the only one that counts for this thread is Alice in Wonderland. I've mentioned in the thread specifically for it that I enjoyed it, but didn't think it was as awesome as it was hyped to be.

This isn't a question I really think I can answer. I have favorite movies from a lot of different time periods. In every year, there are decent movies and ones that just suck. What I will say about this year is that it seems to be the year of adaptations and remakes. The Lightning Thief, Alice in Wonderland (to an extent), Clash of the Titans, Beastly, The Last Airbender, The Karate Kid, HP and the Deathly Hallows Part I, Dear John, How to Train Your Dragon, Eclipse, The Lovely Bones, and others. So, I guess this is the year where Hollywood can't come up with any creative ideas of its own. Whether these movies will turn out bad or not, I can't say until I've seen them. Though honestly, I've seen the trailer for The Karate Kid, and it looks pretty stupid, I've heard Clash of the Titans is terrible, and The Lovely Bones and The Lightning Thief don't seem to be too popular with the fans of the books, either. *shrugs*

I saw it. I enjoyed it. Although I'm very certain they got some of the myth wrong. But hey, it's Hollywood. Whadda you expect?

I've also seen How to Train you Dragon and She's out of Your League. I enjoyed both of those too.

I want to see Kick Ass. And I got my pre-order tickets for Iron Man 2 about 10~20 minutes ago. Midnight showing!!!! Woot!!!!

I can't wait for Harry Potter 7 Part 1 and The Last Airbender!

Kickass looks interesting and I may watch that.

Alice In Wonderland was interesting and I thought it was a great film.

I've heard the acting is not great- I think that was the main complaint. I don't expect Hollywood to get the myths right- when do they ever? The idea I got from the reviews I've seen is that it's a good rental, but I shouldn't run out to theaters to see it as soon as possible.

I find that incredibly stupid. How they're making Deathly Hollows (And also The Hobbit) into multiple movies. The idea seems stupid since we all know they're not going to include everything. And besides, Order of the Phoenix was the longest book in the entire series, but it wasn't made into multiple movies.

They're making The Hobbit into two movies? Why? The book isn't really that long- I can't see how there'd be a problem fitting everything important into one movie.

Also, I agree on the sentiment that cutting Deathly Hallows in two is stupid. All they're doing is trying to keep the franchise going as long as possible- if they could cut OotP and HBP and make them into one movie, they could do DH too.

I remember seeing some video on YouTube talking about future movie releases. And they mentioned The Hobbit being split into two. And my stepbrother has also heard of this, so I'm sure it's true.

I also heard something about the director wanting some kind of sex scene between Harry and Hermonie, just because he believes that how it should've gone.

Rofl. Sex scene. Rofl. If they do I'll walk out of the theater.

Anywayyyyy, definitely waiting for Iron Man 2.

That made me laugh. As much as I hate Harry/Ginny, I would not want to see that.

Oh, I believe you. But how stupid. If they could manage to get each of the LotR books into one movie (and surely they were longer- at least, as far as I can remember), they could fit the freakin' Hobbit into one. Someone's just getting greedy.

I wasn't at first, but I'm definitely excited now to see The Last Airbender. Man, I'm gonna be so mad if it blows. v_v

King of Darkness What up Monica

I said the exact same thing.

My list includes, Kick-Ass, Death at a Funeral, Why did I get Married Too, Iron Man 2, Nightmare on Elm St. (PLEASE don't dissapoint), Despicable Me (lol), and Saw 7 (Eh, have to remain loyal to my series. Or at least until they prove Dr. Lawrence IS STILL alive)
