"The World"

Karite was a little worried about the invite. The last party he joined was fine but then he ended up fighting them, or one of them at least. He didn't know if this guy would try the same stunt. He tried a quick status check on the other guy but found that he couldn't access his stats. A gltch? Karite didn't know what to make of it, but the glitch made him curious. Maybe I'll find out whats up if I go with him. "Ok." Karite said as he accepted the party invite.

 

Twin Blade Level 9 3/3 XP

"Hmm . . . she sort of seems familiar to me, but I don't know from where yet." He came off the roof of the building and walked along the street and over the small stone bridge that stood over the river that ran through Mac Anu. He wanted to get a closer look of the girl that he had just seen. As they walked past each other. They caught quick glances of each other and smiled politely. As he turned back around he blushed a little. "God I'm such a jackass!"

 

Karite pulled out his scythe. He didn't know where the enemy was though. The barrier meant an enemy, but he couldn't see any. It was just him and Sion. Karite glanced at the player, noticing he seemed just as confused. Karite just shrugged his shoulers and waited. Either the enemy was spawning and would attack or Sion would turn around and attack. Either way, Karite planned on being ready.

"Dude, your stats are off the scale!!" Zeke shrugged as he read Nero's details. "I can't see the limit any more!"
"Noo, how can that be?!" Nero's eye's widened and he looked at the lance.
"Man, this can't be a coïncedence! All of these weird things lately. They must be connected or something!" Zeke continued.

 

Admin Adept Rogue lvl 6 (2/3 xp)

"There might be," Salvatore echoed as the two of them entered further into the quest. "When we get back, we'll definitely make a guild."

With that the two of them headed off, taking down monster group after group. Only resting for food, health, bathroom breaks and the like. Eventually, as they were relaxing, Salvatore noticed two players walk up to them. Both wore some pretty dark clothing trimmed in red. He hoped for a moment that they wouldn't come after the two low levels. Should have figured we wouldn't be the only people to come to the quest. We were bound to run into someone else sooner or later.

The knot in his shoulder blades melted away as they disappeared into the next area. It would seem they weren't interested in low level characters. "Gerik needs to hurry up from the bathroom..." he commented absently.

It was a few moments later that something happened to his screen. It flickered. Like something was wrong with it. Following it was a weird bubbling sound. The adept rogues brow knitted down as he scanned the area, What's going on? His eyes opened wide as he saw a hulking ogre suddenly appear.

"This shouldn't be happening! We cleared this area!" Gerik was still away, and the monsters level was too high for the area. Was this supposed to be part of the event? Maybe an NPC was going to jump in and save them, or a G.M.

Yeah that had to be it, a G.M. was coming to lead them in the next part of the quest.

A nervous chuckle bubbled from Salvatore's throat as he pulled out his gauntlets. He didn't know why, but terror was actually sliding up his spine. This was just a game, why should he be scared? It's just a game. It's just a game. he repeated over and over like a mantra of protection.

Screaming like a wild animal, Salvatore charged at the ogre. His fist connected with it and brought it's health down to zero. "Wha-? No way? Is C.C. Corp having a major glitch?" Instantly the monsters health went back to full. It was off the scale. "Shit! Gerik! Ruuuuuuuuuun!" Hibari screamed into his microphone just as something oozed out of the ogre and rammed itself through his character. Through Salvatore's chest.

Hibari's heart suddenly jerked in pain, as though it had been stabbed. His knees buckled and he cried out in pain. The screen on his M2D goggles shattered. More pain erupted as the glass fragments lodged themselves into his eye. There was this high pitched screech coming from his headphones. The intensity drove him to clutch his head as it felt like his brain were melting.

"Stop," he pleaded as his body writhed on the ground. "Please, stop!" This time it wasn't a plea, but a demand, "I SAID STOP!!" His voice went hoarse as he screamed at the piercing sound. When his voice died down there was only silence.

Do you want power? a cooing voice whispered to him.

"Who- Who are you?"

Do you want power? It repeated.

Something primal suddenly awakened, and answered before his mind could think anything through, "Yes! Yes I want power! Give it to me, give me it, give me it!"

You shall have it. It answered as the voice faded away. Hibari's heart skipped a beat, and the pain in his body receded. His body felt stronger, more able to do what he wanted. He felt like power was suddenly flowing through him!

Pulling off the goggles, Hibari made his way to the bathroom and tended to his wounds. As he cleaned away the blood and pulled out glass, a dark malevolent chuckle came to him.

 

Kira flowed from his eyes to his cheeks. As he kept crying, he heard the door opened. He looked and saw that a young women appeared. He saw that she was beatiful indeed. She had long black hair and hazel eyes. She saw him sitting there crying. She walked over to him and said "WHats wrong?" He looked up at her and said "My father...... might die."

 

Adept Rouge Level Up. Level 6 0/3. ??? Character. Level ???

"What's going on?" Gerik asked as he sat back down. He got back just in time to see Salvatore get impaled by the ogre. He heard Salvatore's screams. Gerik couldn't move at all though. His controller wouldn't work. The ogre then turned it's attention to Gerik. "Come on. Damn controller. What the hell?" The ogre slowly started walking towards Gerik.

Closer, closer, the ogre inched towards him. The controller still wasn't working. Gerik tried taking off his M2D. But it was stuck to his head. Gerik tried looking around. His head slowly moved to the right. And when he did, he noticed something float by. It was a blue orb. The orb moved in front of Gerik, getting in between him and the ogre. It exploded, pushing Gerik back. Where the orb was, a strange figure appeared. The figure was holding a set of twin blades in his hands. He spun them around. As he did, the blades split apart, causing each weapon to have three blades to it. The mysterious character didn't speak at all. Instead all Gerik heard were strange, zombified moans.

>Sorry if you didn't want any of the Azure Knights to appear yet. But since Haresuno's character was away from his computer, and my character doesn't have an Avatar, I couldn't think of anything else to save my character.<

 

Twin Blade Level 10 0/3 XP

Leonardo sighed softly as he walked out of his last class of the day. The encounter with the familiar girl was causing him a little bit of uneasiness. "Agh, don't think about things like that. I've got to many things to do to be concerned with relationships. In all that time I could be flirting, I could be getting even better grades in school." He firmly shoved his hands into his pockets as he walked into the same black Cadillac that drove him from school to home and back. He looked of the window at the grey sky. Still . . . what was up with that whole Wave thing?

 

Karite had jumped back when Sion killed the first one. He would've helped but it was painfully obvious to him that he would've only gotten in the way. When a new one came in, Karite was determined to help. He ran behind the monster and using his scythe he pulled himself up to its' head. "Lotus Flower!" he yelled as he launched the special straight into the back of the monsters head. Strangely the attack did little, barely ten damage. Karite was shocked but landed and instead tried his other special. He manuvered himself below it and cried out, "Wicked Strike!" The attack hit the beast and made it fall down, but again it took very slight damage. Karite backed up from it. Those were his best attacks for another two levels, if they couldn't kill it or let alone actually hurt it then he wasn't going to be much use in the fight. I need power!

As they were both still puzzled about all that had happened, they decided to put a ban on the weapon, for it wouldn't be rewarding nor fun.
A stranger walked in through the portal into the wastelands. She was dressed in black and red, obviously a flick reaper with her huge scythe. Zeke looked at her with confusion as she walked towards them.
"Hello... can we help you?" Nero asked politly but ackwardly.
She held her scythe backwards and grinned malovantly. "I've had enough of your kind. I'm in a bad mood so i'll make it quick.." she said softly but fierce.
"Me Sukiko, you lice on my fur. And lice ...." she halted.
Zeke's eyes widened and his pupils went small with agony. "Merlin!!" he shouted and threw himself at Nero.
"DIIIEEEE!" Sukiko continued and charged her scythe above her head at Nero.
Zeke covered Nero and swiftly threw another at the scythe in an attempt to block.
He was sent flying back, Sukiko flinched, while Nero was safe. "Grrrr!!!" Sukiko growled angrily.
Zeke looked up at her with spat out some blood. Nero quickly drew his regular lance and dashed forward to hit Sukiko in the side. He lunged forward but the girl circled her scythe in the middle of his lance, and threw him to the other side then Zeke.

"No way!! BAYONETTA!!" Zeke shouted out in utter rage and unlocked his gunblade's current full potential. His platinum gunblade let out a great flash and Sukiko was blinded.
"Aaaaargh!" she screamed and held her hands before her eyes.
When Zeke got closer he lashed forward at her open spot. When he did, Sukiko revealed the evil grin behind her hands and ringed her scythe through Zeke's chest.
"Rubeeen!" Nero shouted out in tears. He equipped the new lance...
"This is my last resort.." he whispered and dashed at Sukiko.
"Hah, you can't kill me!!" she laughed out with tears in her eyes.
The dark lance pierced through her chest, as Nero cried out tears andSukiko puffed out a last breath and started dissapearing.
"You... YOU!!" she screamed.

A silence behind Ruben's keyboard. He laid there lifeless..

 

Twin Blade Level 10 1/3 XP, Harvest Cleric Level 10 1/3, Macabre Dancer Level 10 1/3

Leonardo looked at his visor and placed it on his head somewhat hastingly. "Well, here we go!" He zoomed through the network and into the Root Town of Mac Anu. He looked around and shrugged, seeing the same old thing. However, he didn't noticed the quickly stealing figure behind him as he was struck in the head by a playful fist. "Hey, w-what the hell--" His moment of quick rage was stiffled by a user that laughed heartily. The users real name was Kamau Densimo, and he was Leonardo's friend since they were born.

He lightly jabebd him in the arm, Leonardo flushed slightly at the playfullness of his friend, "Hey, hey, hey! What's up buddy? Long time no speak. You tryin' to dodge me in school? Just cuz' we have different teachers doesn't mean anything."

Leonardo gestured with his hands and spoke lightly, "Egh . . . nothing to much to you. I've been very, very busy man. The work, the work . . ."

Kamau ended the sentence, "The work huh?"

Leonardo chuckled, "Heh, yeah. So why all of a sudden did you log in?"

"I'm not grounded anymore, smarty," Kamau said with a wide grin. He turned around to notice a girl, the girl was the same girl that he had seen. He moved to the side and pointed to her. "This Heather, Leo. Leo, Heather. She goes to our sister school." The girl bowed slightly and smiled a gentle, kind smile, "It's nice to meet you Leo. I've heard a lot from you from Kamau."

Kamau nudged her with his elbow, "Yeah, he used to make weird faces back in kindo like this." Heather giggled while Kamau chuckled and imitated the shenanegans of his great friend while Leonardo scrathed his head, laughing weakly. Well, this is one good way to break some ice, heh?

 

The girl looked at him and said "Wow." "I'm sorry." He looked at her and said "Its ok." Then after a few seconds, he then said "I have to get going now." He got up and started walking down the stairs. As he was going down, the girl watched and said "I think he goes to my school." "Also..... he looks, alone."

Kira ran quickly to his father's room. When he got to the door, he gripped the handle and slowly opened the door. His parents saw him come in. He closed the door and said "I'm sorry." ".....for leaving." His father looked at him and then smiled. He then said "Thats ok Kira." "I understand." "And I'm sorry." "I really am."

 

Twin Blade Level 10 2/3, Harvest Cleric Level 10 2/3, Macabre Dancer Level 10 2/3 XP

Kamau puffed his chest out and grinned, "So, who wants to go finish up these new user fields . . . together?" Leonardo nodded and Heather looked at him and nodded in agreement. Kamau wiped his nose with his hands and pointed out to a Chaos and boasted proudly, "ALL RIGHT, LET'S GO!!!" He ran off in a goofy manner and the two laughed and jogged after him.

As they arrived in the field they looked about the new terrain, it was a mountainous valley all around them. They looked up and heard a slow and low heavy blowing noise. They looked up and saw a semi-large dragon, flying elegantly. Heather brushed the hair in his eyes and sighed softly as she looked at the blue sky. "Wow, isn't it great? The World looks so . . . so beautiful."

The two boys smiled in acknowledgement of the comment and Kamau sniffed the air, "Oooookay," he began moving his arms in fast cricles as his weapons came into being, resembling the chakrams used by Axel in Kingdom Hearts. Leonardo brought out his two weapons that resembled the keyblades used in Kingdom Hearts and Heather took out a book and what seemed to be a pencil, both looking like the items used by Namine in Kingdom Hearts. Five magic portals opened and the three tensed up. Their party status showed up and they looked at each other and nodded, "ready." The portals opened and lion-like monsters came forth.

 

Admin Adept Rogue lvl 6 (3/3 xp)

Hibari had to fish out a spare M2D he had lying around. It was an older version, but worked just the same. His vision was a bit blurry, but starting to return. The screen was just barely manageable to see. Gerik was standing by himself while his own avatar -Salvatore- lie on the ground. Unless he rez's me, I'm going to have to reboot... That was when something else caught the blond player's eye.

There standing near Gerik was another player, wielding wicked three pronged twin blades and dressed in an orange with thick belts here or there. At different parts of the characters body, there were stitch marks, as if he had been pieced together by a cyber knitting kit.

Hibari couldn't see all the characters details, but he didn't think it mattered much. This was either a specialized character by C.C. Corp. or a hacked P.C. One way or the other, he knew he didn't like the guy. Something about him seemed off. It was almost like there was no one there, and yet ...

The twin blade was staring down the ogre which had attacked Salvatore. Not twitching a single muscle. Just standing, like a statue. It gave Salvatore the chills.

Because his M2D didn't have a mic, Hibari quickly typed into the chat box:

Gerik, can you resurrect me? Come on man hurry, we need to get out of here!

 

Twin Blade Level 10 3/3, Harvest Cleric Level 10 3/3, Macabre Dancer Level 10 3/3 XP

Leonardo leaped back to dodged an incoming claw from the monster and rolled to his side. "Kamau!" he called out, "Right on it!" he declared and attacked the monster with a great combo that caused his weapons to have balls of flame flickering wildly on his blades. The monster staggered back and stood its ground while its other companions came to its defence.

One of them leaped out at Heather, but she had already chanted and cast a defensive spell that dealt damage to monster. Another one of the monsters sprung up behind her. "Heather! Watch it!" Leonardo bellowed and hopped off the head of one of the monsters, flipping, and slashing the monster, dealing a considerate damage. He stood back-to-back with Heather and grinned. This is really intense, I didn't know things got this hard in The World. Kamau came into the group and held his weapons up. The five monsters circled them menacingly. "Yo Leo, how are you on HP?"

Leo nodded and breathed out, "I'm halfway down man you?"

"Hah, not a scratch," he said with a large grin. Heather's hand glowed and she touched Leonardo, restoring his hitpoints. "What about yourself Heather? You're not looking so hot"

She smiled shyly and said to him, holding up her items, "I'll be fine."

Kamau got into a fierce stance and he looked over his shoulder, "Hey . . . Leo?"

"Yeah?"

"Here's a great time to use some of your moves as a Twin Blade."

He spun his chakrams and they glowed bright with flames, "You ready for this guys?" The two nodded and Leo's weapons shined with their own element, Light and Dark. Heather's items began to glow with light and she looked at her enemies with determination. "LET'S DO THIS!!!" Kamau boomed as he charged at his enemies. He flung out his arms and his weapons zinged at his enemies, burning and slashing them. Two of them were killed and he grinned as his SP depleted completely.

Leonardo levatated in the air for a few moments then unleashed a devastating combo at three of the monsters in front of him. After finishing his combo, he fell back, getting back into the circle and his SP was gone. "Damn, we're out of SP!" Kamau said swinging about his weapons like a blind man. "Leave it to me," said Heather. She moved out her hands and her book floated out and shined bright with light. A small circle appeared and beam of energy shot out at the remaining enemies. They howled out their deathcries and disappeared, destroyed.

"Lotus Flower!" Karite yelled as he jumped into the air and launched the attack at the crature. Strangely though the attack just phazed through it without harm. How? Karite thought. He quickly landed and tried his other special, "Wicked Strike!" Again the attack just went through it. I need more power. It's the only way we'll survive this thing. Suddenly the creature reached out and before he could react, Karite was grabbed. As he struggled to get free he could actually feel the breath being squeezed out of him. He started to gasp for air, even in the real world. Suddenly the creature screamed and dropped him. Karite opened his eyes to see he was shining. As the glow wore off he looked different.



Karite didn't know what was going on but when he looked back towards the creature it was gone. Instead something else was standing in its place and staring at him.



Karite had no clue what it was. He tried to bring out his scythe but it wouldn't form. He was slightly scared as the creature reached down and was about to touch him. Just before it did Karite vanished. Back in the real world Johnny was forcefully ejected from the game. What was that? And what happened? He was about to log back in to find out when he heard his sister calling for him. I'll find out when I come back from helping her. He stood up and took one last look at the screen. "Weird."
