"The World"

Leonardo looked at the figures as they floated, motionlessly. A great sense of dread came over him and he stared at all of them. As he did this, a crimson sphere floated in front of him. The sphere shined and materialized into a girl. The girl was quite beautiful, with long white hair and a white dress that seemed to big for her. She approached him and smiled gently. He was about to open his mouth when she held out her hand, meaning for him not to speak. "My name is Aura," she said with an angelic voice.

She turned slightly pointing to the floating beings. "These are the monsters of the wave, soon to return again. Do you know what the wave is?"

He nodded and said, "Yes."

Aura smiled gently again and continued, "These monsters are children of the wave, the destructive force with the power to destroy The World and your world as well. I am Aura, the mother of The World. I am held captive by these monsters again. Skeith and Corbenick, the first and last of the wave have been released. The users are alive and roaming The World as we speak. You have been brought here to make a choice. They Wave has chosen you to take one of these as an Avatar . . . However, I do not wish you to do this . . . Find these users and destroy these of the Wave."

His screen shined with a bright, blinding white light. He reappeared in Mac Anu, the Root Town and looked around. Everything seemed back to normal, for now.

Ken was just about to get on into when his brother rushed in. "You better not get on the world. You got things to do." Dan told him. "No i dont, i did all my chores and homework, plus it's friday. So buzz off." Ken told him, but his brother stayed, he went over to the computer and cut it off."Dude, why'd you do that for? Why?" Ken yelled at him, he tried to push him away but missed and fell. "Get down stairs and do something other than this. NOW." his brother said. Ken just walked away

Leo logged off of The World and sat back in his chair. Wait a minute, number 1, I'm not stong enough, number 2, why the hell or more importantly, how the hell will I be able to take down eight monsters that are all like totally stronger than me by tenfold. This is ridiculous . . . but at the same time . . . it's awesome.

Merlin threw his bags on the floor and jumped down behind his desk with laptop. He quickly started the World again, for he only had to do the essay. His computer booted more quickly then normal for some reason.
As he found himself inside the world again, Zeke jumped on his back, ready for action.
"Already? I thought you had to do that extra assignment." Nero said

Leonardo stepped out of the elegantly made car that drove him to his school and began walking to the doors of the main entrance. He saw others kids speaking with each other and horsing around. Maybe if they were so hellbent on their academic performance they wouldn't be acting like jackasses, he thought to himself. He opened the classroom door to his A.P. Spanish class and took his seat which was at the front and closest to the door.

He took out his notebook, book, and other things needed for the class and waited for the teacher to come in to begin class. "Hey, Leo!" one of his classmates called out to him. He turned around in his seat and said, "Yeah?"

"I heard that you play The World!" other classmates snickered and chuckled at their seats.

Leo shrugged and replied, "Yeah, and?"

"What level are you?

Probably level 5 million!" said another classmate and the room bellowed in mockery. Leo smiled politely and retaliated with a simple, "No, I'm just level 8, nothing real big." Freaking cunt.

 

Adept Rouge Level 5 2/3

"It's alright. I wouldn't mind setting up a guild." Gerik replied. "It'd be fun, having a grunty that looked like one of us. And with a guild shop, it'd be an easy way to make quick cash." They began walking through the field. "In addition to a job extension, do you think that there's the possibility of a rare item? Like something with a 5 star rarity. That'd be something. Although we're probably too low a level to equip it quite yet."

Leonardo sluggishly entered his room and flopped down his gym bag and backpack and went into his shower and stood in it as the warm water soothed his aching muscles. Man . . . today's practice was hard as hell . . . But it looks like I managed. He thought back to the day he was told by his coach he would be moved to 1st Captain of the Varsity Soccer Team as he dried himself and sat down to do his homework and study. What's with the awkward way everyone has been treating me lately? They never talk to me but today they mocked me in class and harassed me in the hallway. I mean, it wasn't a real big deal to me, still, what's up with all that?

He jumped slightly in his seat as his cell phone vibrated and he picked it up. He looked at the phone and frowned in disdain at what he saw. The text message read, "You don't deserve it!" He deleted the message and finished his homework at it's usual perfect and top quality. "Whatever!" he cursed as he picked up his visor and logged on to The World.

Ken was sleeping on the couch down stairs, his brother really didn't want to him to play the World. Why he didn't know. So he slept, he was bored and wanted to get some Z"s anyways, he could never sleep good anymore. Then the door bell rang, somewhere he could here his bother say he got it. The door closed and the smell of food was in the air. Ken jumped up and went to the table, they where already ready to eat, so he much have been kinda alseep still before he smelled the food. "Go wash your hands, and make sure you dry them too." His mom said. After he did he sat down, they prayed, talked and ate.

 

As Kira kept crying on the rooftop of the hospital, his mother came in to talk to his father. "Tetsuya." "Are you ok?" He turned to her and said "Yeah, I am Megumi." "How is Kira?" Her eyes saddened as she looked at her husband. "Hes up on the rooftop I believe." "They say that he is crying." Tetsuya then said "Why?" Megumi tried looking at but she can't. "Its because...... he knows about your condition." Tetsuya eyes then got sad. "Oh..... so he knows....."

He walked around the Root Town of Mac Anu and stopped at a nearby fountain and sat down at its edge and looked at the other players as they passed him. I'm pretty sure every other person here knows about all these weird events of The World anyway. My question is is why certain players get chosen to get contacted by these weird things. I just came here to do something with my time after I finished with my day at school. Whatever, I choose to not let this Aura girl mess with my time here. The game has no real goal for players so I can make my own path. I'll just make the path I've always wanted: a path by myself.

He got up from his lonely vigil and smiled slightly. "Yeah . . . that's how I want things to work out for me." He ran towards a chaos gate and set in some words and warped out to another field on the list for new players.

Nero and Zeke stepped out of the wicked chaos gate once more, only to find themselves in a wasteland full of twilight and rotten trees. They both grinned evily.
"50-50?" Zeke asked.
"Sure, i'll take the abominations" Nero replied and Zeke charged at the other wyverns with his gunblade ready.
Nero summoned his lance and dashed forward. As he moved towards the enemies he noticed something. His lance had changed! (in the SU)

Leonardo cut down monster after monster that appeared to him from a magic portal. "I have to keep getting stronger . . . I must!" he whispered to himself as he sidestepped to avoid the attack of a tiger-like warrior. "Is that all you got?!" he shouted to the monster as he used a spell that struck down lightning from above. He placed his hands on his knees and panted in exhaustion. All these new games are so realistic . . . phew!

Ken walked up to his room, he was about to do a all nighter, as he waited for his family to fall asleep, he was already ready to push enter. His brother fell asleep and he entered. The world was in night as well. He was walking with his new blade on his back, plus a lvl 8, he was getting somewhere. He let himself go as he was just happy to be here. He ran to a cliff and yelled. He ran all the way to Mac Anu. As he did he bumped into some big guys and they looked ready to fight.

Leonardo had been wandering around the Root Town of Mac Anu and noticed an Adept Rogue who had possibly gotten himself into some trouble with two players. He walked up and patted the players shoulder and said in the open chat box. "Hey what's up man? I haven't seen you in a very long time. We need to hurry up and get back to our boss, he just got to level 45 and got us some good weapons." He entered in the private chat box <Just play along . . . these guys can wipe the floor with us if they want to>

His lance had changed! When he checked his stats, Nero found out his lance, now called "Indignant Grace", was suddenly level ???. His attack was also maxed out. "No way!!" he shouted and Zeke looked back.
"Hey, you're lance changed!" he called back while slashing another wyvern.
Nero grinned terrorizingly evil and charged at all the golems.
With one massive lunge full of dark and light flames, he pierced through all the golems, destroying them in one hit.
Zeke's eyes widened. "Dude, are you hacking again?!"
"Noo, this time i'm not! I swear!" Nero said and put his new lance into the ground.

Leonardo looked into the eyes of the players that the other player had somewhat provoked. He checked their stats and saw that they were simply the same as his. "Oh, nevermind then, eheh," he shrugged and walked away. If that guy gets into any trouble, he'll be fine. He walked into the inn and sat down. He looked over and saw a group of players watching him closely. They all had the same armor on and they had the same beginning to their usernames. "Crimson Knights . . . huh? Those are the guys that keep everyone else in check. Looks like a bunch of goons to me." He said at his computer.

 

Karite was looking around at the area. Nothing seemed to be there. And the quest data was too vague for Karite to make heads or tails of it. So he thought he'd just wait and watch someone else do the quest first, then he would mimic them. His plan fell short though as nobody came to the area. Finally someone came out and noticed Karite. He walked up and asked if Karite was here for the quest. Karite looked him over before answering. The user was in white and had an outfit that Karite didn't see in the character creation screen. "Yes." he finally answered. Karite took another look around but then turned his attention back to the other user. "I'm... confused about the quest." It was the most he had ever said at once.

Leonardo sat on top of a roof within Mac Anu and watched the sun of the virtual net game called The World and sighed. "Man . . . even though it's a game, it really makes you get into it." As he looked out onto the horizon he saw a girl. He greatly resembled his favorite female character from Kingdom Hearts, Namine. She had no weapons so he assumed that she was of the Harvest Cleric class. "Wow . . . she's um, pretty." He looked away from the girl as he looked up to the sky, not directly at him but just in his direction. "Jeez, it's only a game, chill out Leo."
