If you ask me what my favorite KH game is out of all of them so far, it would be KH2FM. It is so much better than the first KH2.:D

    I don't have KH2 FM. D: So I'd have to say KH2.

I hate KH2 and never realized it until I got KHII Final Mix. Going back to II would be horrendous.

KHIIFM is the BEST game in the series and everyone should import it.

^Are there really so many differences between the original and Final Mix that the first one sucks, while the other is amazing?

Out of all of the games so far, I'd say my favorite is Kingdom Hearts I. Though it had some annoyances (like the camera and Gummi ship) that were better in KH II, I felt that the story was better and the game was more challenging in KH I. I found Chain of Memories frustrating to play, and I haven't played 358/2 Days or RE: Chain of Memories (though I doubt I will find that version any less frustrating).

    1. New Very Hard Difficulty Mode which gives you half as much health and you take more damage- Critical Mode
    2. Level 1 Challenge which lets you stay at level 1 permanently and requires more skill to complete than any KH Challenge you could do.
    3. The Lingering Sentiment which is the hardest boss in the series to date and ties into the story of BBS
    4. Cavern of Remembrance- a dungeon which rivals KH1 Hollow Bastion and sports the 1000 nobody battle at the end as a precurser to...
    5. The Data Battles- Org Rematches which are all 30x as powerful as Sephiroth
    6. Playable Roxas fight
    7. Ability to fight the Chain of Memories baddies in the form of their Absent Silhouette
    8. New abilities which are incredible (Magnet Splash, Roundbreak, etc)
    9. Limit Form- A drive form that rivals Final Form in power, doesnt require party members, and lets you use the Limits from KH1 (e.g Ars Arcanum)
    10. New Cutscenes which are actually interesting
    11. An actual Challenge in that the leveling hotspot at pride lands is gone
    12. Two new keyblades: Two Become One and Winner's Proof
    13. Mushroom XIII heartless minigame
    14. New Music Tracks
    15. New Items and Accessory's including the Executive Ring which gives you +30 AP and the Oh so useful Full Bloom accessory from Marluxia
    16. Puzzle Piece hunting which is essentially a more involved Trinity hunt.
    17. Dodge Roll. Live it, Learn it, Love it.

I have RE:CoM. Irritating. I really hate the card battle system. I even went on a rant about it to my mom. I mean, GOD! I hate it with a burning passion.

@Xehanort: I didn't realize there were quite so many differences, but the only ones I'd be really interested in would be the extra bosses and the new cutscenes. But even with that added, I don't think I'd say that the original KH II was horrible. At heart, they're still the same story, and that's what's always been most important for me. *shrugs*

I also hated the card battle system, but even more than that, I hated having to use cards to open doors to the next room. I never had the ones I needed, and it got frustrating, particularly towards the end. Probably, I played like a noob, and if I tried it again I might have better luck and find it more enjoyable. But as is, all I can remember about the game is my annoyance, not the story.

I understand what you mean. As far as story goes KHII was outstanding. But it was outrageously easy. Thats why I hate it. FM is such a huge challenge. Im still trying to get through cavern of remembrance at level 1 actually. It is more than worth it if you have the funds. Lingering Sentiment is the greatest boss in the series.

I personally agree with Toph. I mean, I definitely didn't HATE any of the KH games besides ReCoM .
I also think that FM is better than KH2 original, because of the organization boss battles. But, in all truth, I think plot is more important than gameplay. They could make the games all a movie and I would still like em'.

Yeah, but like I said. I loved the plot beyond anything else but hated the lack of challenge. I probably should of been clearer when I said I hated it.

Yah, Well. For some reason I never really liked Limit Form. I dunno why.

Maybe you arent using it right. I use it more than Final Form. Zantetsuken is the strongest single ability in the game and Sonic Blade obliterates everything. Dodge Roll is almost the best movement ability second only to glide. Plus, you can essentially use a form anytime you want to regain your HP and MP back. Sonic Blade spam obliterates data Axel

That's understandable. I think my biggest annoyance with KH II was that it was too easy overall. In that way, I'm jealous of the people who can play Final Mix.

I wish S-E would just put all the awesomeness in at the start and release all of the versions that way. v_v

If were talking gameplay then KH1 gets my win because it was " harder" KH2 was fun but you could for the most go through the entire game without "having" to use any magic KH1 i wish i would " not" use gravity or blizzaga

    Story wise KH2 obviously

  16. GrandShadow

    GrandShadow I accept your challange.

KH2. the gameplay was better in my opinion. i want to play FM but i have now way to import it.

Its around 60$ which is about as much as an average playstation III game.
The game itself is only about 30$ and the means to play it, swap magic, is 30$. Swap Magic is very easy to use and will let you play it. Just look things up. For the translation, just go to GameFaqs. They have a killer translation guide. PM me for more info.

Well, honestly, it would be a waste of money. America just doesnt buy remakes like Japan does. A bunch of Kingdom Hearts Fans would buy it, but it wouldnt be enough to make a decent profit. Just look at Re Chain of Memories.

No, I didn't mean a remake. I meant, when they originally released KH II (to use that as an example), I wish they had thought up Lingering Sentiment, those new cutscenes (and all of the other things you mentioned that were added into Final Mix) beforehand, and just included them the very first time around. So there'd be no need for a Final Mix remake- all that stuff would have already been in the originals. I guess I didn't explain well (probably still didn't, but meh).

I was wondering about that when I first got FM. When I did some research to find out, apparently the development of KHII was horribly rushed. Not only that but they didnt know how to compress the game data to add the features at the time.

Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix is another story however. It was made due to extra features like Sephiroth that were released in the North American version exclusively. The developers did not want the Japanese gamers to feel left out so they released a "directors cut" of the game and added more than the North American version got. Yes, it is Sephiroth's fault again.

Freakin' Sephiroth. One more reason to hate him.

I can understand why a KH 1 Final Mix was created, and I guess since they did it the first time, they figured they may as well release a FM for the second game. But it's a little annoying to a NA gamer like me, who would rather not pay another $60 to import a different version of KH II just to get a challenge.

I'm drifting away from the topic. >_< So, I've noticed that, so far at least, no one has picked COM as their favorite in the series. Does anyone like this game?
