Welly-well, well, what do you think? Do you think that it's complete bullshit (Suing everyone for everything) or JUSTICE! Thoughts, please.

The legal system itself, I don't have that much of a problem with (Mainly the Supreme Court). But as for individuals being so sue-happy these days, that annoys the shit outta me. It reveals how pathetic some people are for sueing over the most minor of things. Like spilling coffee on yourself and getting burned.

But the story that bugs me the most, and yet is funny at the same time, concerns a burglar.

So, once upon a time, a guy tried breaking into a house. He does break into the house (I think by the roof). He ends up falling and injuring himself. So he sues the owner of the house for his injuries and wins.

I was thinking of this exact thing the other day. That is the one of the most idiotic things ever. I also believe there was a similar case where a burglar was attacked by a homeowner's dog, sued, and won. Complete bullshit.

Well, I rather agree with Desert Warrior concerning the legal system. It is flawed and not as fair as it should be, but I'm not sure how it could be fixed, and in any case, it is better than it could be. Probably, if it wasn't so bogged down with idiotic civil suits like the ones mentioned above, the system would run a lot more smoothly.

Legal system is flawed worldwide. BBC News - Myleene Klass has 'no regrets' over knife incident

Woman has a break in, she gets warned by police for threatening tresspasers with a blade.

The law suits are a fucking joke, you can sue over anything these days, this is mainly because of mans greedy nature... aka, barristers wanting more money.

"She is not looking to be a vigilante, and has the utmost respect for the law, but when the police explained to her that even if you're at home alone and you have an intruder, you are not allowed to protect yourself, she was bemused."

Are you kidding me? If someone was getting close to my house and peering into my windows and I have a daughter upstairs, I'd run out there with my shotgun in hand!

If you ask me, the world is beggining to favor the evil. If things keep going like this, you could sue someone for being inexperienced in bed!

I wouldn't be surprised. It would read like a fortune cookie.

"He made me feel uncomfortable. . . in bed."

i think the leagl system is messed up, they dont help anybody, i mean in law bidding citizens they didn't do anything for those killers, the guy had to do it himself. I mean really, the pres. dosne't do a thing, he makes papers and sings them but really it's the congress that passes the laws(sometimes i didn't mean he dosn't do anything like that) And there a bunch of rich snobs how think of nobody but themselvs, that's why it took so long to pass the health care thing. The system is messy, they put people in jail for not doing any thing. they attack people in other contrys and dont help other contrys. It's wack.

^What do health care and fighting in other countries have to do with this debate on the legal system?

The system helps some people. It probably works for more people than it lets down, or why else would we still be using it?

I'm gonna guess you're referencing the movie Law Abiding Citizen. In any case, I don't think the system is so flawed that everyone should run out and become vigilantes when things don't go their way.

The system isn't perfect, but I believe that it is well-intentioned. I think setting more funds aside for the public defender's office, for one, would make a big difference. Public defenders are too overworked, in my opinion, to provide the best possible defenses. A better paycheck would help lure the top lawyers, and having funding to hire more attorneys and assistants would lessen the caseloads of all the current public defenders.

The fact people can twist and manipulate the language of legal doctrines in order to suit their case, coupled with the way they can also manipulate individuals for their cause, is proof enough of how completely broken the legal system is.

Of course I do mean broken in two ways. Broken as in it has failed and is essentially a rag-doll for people to use. And also broken in the sense it is way too easy to get cases, lawsuits and the like to benefit you almost all the time if you play your cards right.

Personally i don't like the health care thing.

As for our legal system, it definitely has its failings. But our system is better than trial by mob like it is in some countries.
