We shouldnt be excpected to police the world tho. No one should.
And I agree with you on schooling. We need more real world training, not head in book training. Nothings wrong with head in book schooling, and some would say that high school is enough like the real world that we dont need real world training. But I think highschool's should offer more real world classes and schooling.
    A. Crime system is corrupt, yes, so thats another thing on the list that we should fix.
    B. We are NOT a fascist empire, we have an imperialistic military because of our competition with European countries. They created competition, so we decided that we wanted into the game. Which was dumb, we could've kept up to speed with them just fine on our own land. But because of presidents like Teddy Roosevelt, we are OVER BOARD in our imperialism. and the same imperialism that began in WWI has continued to this day.
    C. During the Industrial Revolution we produced a lot of our own things, and we continued to do so for a long time. Oversea's production is fairly new in American history, and its something that we can slowly ween ourselves off of by doing what? Opening factoires and business here in America. But in order to do that we need what? a good economy. And thats what this thread is all about.
    D. We can survive on our own. You think the answer is to just give up. You don't want to fight for what is right. You want to be a sheep in the flock. Your a follower. Thats not what America is about. Americans are fighters, we stand for our freedom.
    What do you stand for?

I don't believe that any one country should be expected to police the rest of the world, either. But I think this is a habit that the US will find hard to break, should the government even desire to try.

And I disagree with the idea that high school is like the real world. High school wasn't even much like college to me, let alone what comes after. And in some cases, the schools aren't even doing a great job teaching basic skills. There are people in my town who are my age and have graduated from the high school, but can't read or are just barely literate. This is sad. It's not surprising to me that people from overseas could come to the US and be better qualified for the higher paid jobs here.

I agree with your first statement. It will be hard

And highschool is like the real world in the sense that its not fair, but the people who work the hardest get the best grades. The people who get the A's succeed. You don't have to like those people, but they got A's, and that makes them better "on paper".

We can. It may not happen, but we can. It all revolves around industry. If buisnesses didn't care about saving a few extra dollars, everything we use in America would be made in America. Whenever we put our minds to it, we can do just about anything. That's what makes America so great. What we can do when we put our minds to it.

Which is why I like my teachers. They actually teach, and they know what they're doing. Which is why we shouldn't have Teacher Unions. If there were none of those, then we'd have more teachers like mine.

Not quite. In my Physics class, I barely try and I have one of the highest grades in the class, being over 100%. But then again, the class is easy. Very easy.

And it isn't the only people who get A's that succeed. Don't you know that some of the most popular fast food chains were created by high school drop-outs?

This is like the real world how? Ideally, people who work hard should get ahead, but plenty of people bust their asses for their entire lives and have very little to show for it. And vice versa.

If only we can go back to the 1990's. I missed those days. Milks be costing $1.59. ButterFingers & Snickers costing 25 cents. Missed those days. Ice cream even cost $2.39. Look at this now. The foundation is built on the new generation.

Everything you've said I agree with, I was just stating the counter argument that is "pro-school enivironment" already.

I know this, but these are, in real life, the exceptions. The majority of life abide by this simple structure. But even then, in highschool, u have social conflictions that get in your way. So it is all the more like real life in a psychological setting.

We'll just have to agree to disagree, then. ^_^ I think the "working hard but not really getting anywhere" camp is stronger than one would want to believe.

I agree with what you said. But I don't think it will happen. I think America would need to be in really huge trouble for businesses to care more for the well being of the country than about making a few extra bucks.

I agree with you, but we must admit that it's not impossible. I dont think it will happen unless the people literally get out of their homes and charge the white house in rage, but yah never know, if we get someone in politics that is of good heart, then maybe he/she would get somethings started before getting assassinated.

When the desire for power crumbles to the desire of well being for all, then we'll actually get somewhere.
Until then, nothing is going to really change in terms of big business.

The true essence of business is to care about nothing except for your own profit.
Even if you're trying to help another country through a foundation you've created, ultimately you can only do so much.

Capitalistic Stability > Fairness, according to the world.
Even though the field I want to head into promotes all of that, I want to change the gears of it a little.
So I can promote ideas in the public's face to potentially inspire them to make differences.

In order to make changes, people need to realize that sacrifices must be made.
    Risks have to be taken.

That's the true nature of society.

wat kind of sacrifices r u talking about? Wat risks? I agree with the statement, but you can go into two seperate directions on the answer to the question.
You see liberals and I agree with who the enemy is. Were most of my ideals and liberal ideals differ is on the solution.
And that is what i'm afraid we r about to get into Autopsy.
