Welcome to the world of Air Runa. This planet floats in the Rin Galaxy, which is about as old as ours. Air Runa has 3 moons in her orbit. I mention this, because our story begins at this galaxy's creation. A large eruption from an old star creates a new one to replace it. The star is named Sin (sign) Hista. A large gas giant formed, which allowed several other planets to form together as well. As luck would have it, 1 planet was just close enough to Sin Hista to support life without boiling everything.

3 gods noticed this planet, and all scrambled to take it for their own. As they were brothers and sister, the three agreed to share it and lived in peace. When man was created, they gifted three human races with special powers. The First god was named Sen Ventra, the god of nature on this world. He granted the Senz race power over natures great elements. Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. The second was named Rein (Ree- in), and was god over Light and Darkness. He granted the Reens race power over these elements, Light and Dark. The Third Goddess was named Seesa (sea - sah) who lorded over the core energy of life. She gave the Seace, (see - s) power over force, letting them tap into their auras to strengthen their bodies and work wonders with their inner energy.

The three races lived in harmony, until the three gods wanted the world for their own. How ever, no matter how long the human races fought, they couldn't defeat each other. The fighting continued for a hundred years until the gods, grieved by the losses of their humans, decided it would be best if they let their people live in peace once more. During the war, many sources of their history were destroyed, throwing the humans into their first dark age.

A group of humans created a group known as Defd'e who would keep the world from falling into another war. They also called themselves librarians, as they intended to retrieve as much as was possible about the histories of their world. Many magi joined them and set up many libraries across their world.

Little do they know, that another organization called Senventra wanted to seize the world for their own, and oust the gods. They believe that the gods should be punished for their foolishness. To do so would spark another hundered years war, and it could wipe out the humans forever.

The story starts in a magi school were children from every race gather to learn how to harness and use their powers.
All the main characters are about to set out as traveler mages. These are mages who have passed their classes, and must travel the world following their magic until they return to become knighted as Full Magi. They get caught up in a sudden power struggle between the Defd'e and Senventra.

Their goal is to simply help those who are in need, by healing the sick and ousting raiders. They also try to gather information from tribal saga's and literature that survived the war. These are taken to the nearest library were they are categorized and stored. Only knowledgeable sages may store these books and scrolls.

Here are the races explained in more detail.

The Senz: They have control over the elements. Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. These are the core elements that make up every element in the world. All of them can control these elements to some degree, though they also have 1 element they specialize in.

.....Ether is a combination of all 4 arts of the senz, and only a true master of all four magics can fully use this power. How ever, a novice can still learn how to use some ether techniques, though they will not be able to fully use its power without careful study and work.

The Reens: They have the power to control light and darkness. Good and Evil. There's is the power of necromancy, and healing. Again, they can all use both powers but they specialize in one or the other.

....Divinity, the very power of creation, is the combination of Reen powers, and is one that only a very few have successfully used. It is believed that necromancy stems from this divine power, but necromancers fail to see the true scope of this great ability. For divinity grants the user balance of all things, though they sacrifice much physically to use this power. Those who learn divine magic use Faerie magic, which is a blast of light and dark energies mixed together.

The Seace: They have the power of Aura. They can use their body's energy to bend elements like Air and Fire, but they can also move other objects. Beware, for with this power comes greater danger, for if you over use your aura you will die without exception.

....Gravity, it is said, is the ultimate culmination of the Seace. While even a novice user can move objects and use a "force" to push enemies away, it takes a lot more to make there foe actually weigh more or less. Gravity is what every Seace strives for, and Gravity is a power that very foe Seace have obtained. Those that have this power are recognized as the greatest magi of there race.

No matter your race, each character must have the following. Also, if you wish to use a ultimate power keep in mind you are a simple traveler mage, and you are just setting out on your first journey. These powers take decades of work and discipline in order to fully obtain, how ever your characters can demonstrate a little of these powers but not much.

A brown cloak containing the crest of the traveler mage. This cloak can be turned inside out to conceal this crest if a situation arises were they must hide their identities. They also must know how to read and write, and must carry a bag they can use to store books and scrolls in. They also have about thirty pieces of paper, ink, and a quill for if they must record a story. Each mage also has a diary were they must record their journeys which will one day enter the library and become a saga of that mage.

At their graduation ceremony were they become traveler mages they are presented with these items. The bag has a spell that makes the contents only weigh half as much as they really do, so you need not worry about heaving a heavy bag around all over the place.

Here is the Bio. I'll post mine if people actually join. =P

I'm in. Still thinking about which type of human to be though. Such good choices. Could you describe the Seace's force abilities in more detail?

And is it possible to have the element of Ether? If so, which group actually has the ability to? I need to know this to see whether or not I can just reapply an old profile here.

Edit: If thats an actual element then i suppose. You could make it by combining elements.

Ether is the Fifth element according to Aristotelian science.

Only if you can combine the 4 elements can you use another. Like combining water and air you can get ice, or fire and air will give you smoke. Earth and water will make mud, while earth and air will give you sand.

    Its now completely finished.

Sorry. Here's my character. I'll post the amount of characters i'll take.

Name: Ben Cross (Hope some of you remember him =D)
    Age:19
    Gender: Male
    Race:The Senz
    Affinity: Fire
    Pic:
    Weapon: [IMG]
His blade can grow and shrink just like Ivy from soul cal 2. It can also become a regular sword, though its potential is far diminished in that state.

Bio: He enrolled in the Academy at the normal age of seven. He remained an extra year to perfect his chain blade techniques. He is a proficient mage in all arts of his race, but he will always remain far more superior with fire. His very technique is his flame whip, in which he coats his chain sword with a long burning oil and sets it ablaze. The sword is made of special metal that is unaffected by the heat, but it can also never be reforged because of this.

Personality: He's a real fun loving guy, but also a very serious fighter. Beware that blade, because he often curls it around himself to keep from being injured. His major weakness is that once your under his guard he can't protect himself well, but its rare that this ever happens.

    Oooooh!

I see a chance to use a newer character of mine. He's a necromancer. He should fit in wonderfully!

And isn't Ether essentially raw magic?

Scientifically, Ether (Or Aether) is part of the atmosphere. So it would be part of air.

And also, could I have another character? One that isn't part of the magi school or at least left it for some reason?

    Name: Gerik
    Age: 20
    Gender: Male
    Race: Senz
    Affinity: Earth
    Pic: [IMG]
    Weapon: [IMG]
Bio: Gerik has known the magi school his whole life. His becoming a traveling mage was an event Gerik considers to be one of his greatest achievements.
Personality: Gerik is more of a carefree person. He has always desired freedom, and his traveling mage achievement has granted that to him. At least, as free as possible.
Other: I don't think I want him to have any hidden blades... Yet. And his sword glows the color of the wielder's aura. Nobody knows why.

But Ether, as it is being used, is not a "scientific" term. We're speaking of the classical elements. In terms of magic, which is how it is being used, Ether is defined as magic over Time, Dimensions, and Raw Magic.

Although, I personally believe that time is something that shouldn't be considered something that could be manipulated, seeing as it really doesn't exist physically.

Actually, ether is something completely different from aether. Ether is the stuff of celestial bodies.

It's incomplete, but I figured I'd snag myself a spot in this. All I need to do is supply a biography, which I've already got in mind.

    Name:
    Kuan Dailel

    Age:
    18

    Gender:
    Male

    Race:
    Reens

    Affinity:
Darkness (in the form of necromancy)

    Dead Energy –

The crux of Kuan’s primary powers over the essence of death itself is a force that he has dubbed as “dead energy”. It is from this force that the rest of his power is derived. This energy would be best described as being something akin to nothingness, as it is based on the same concept. As opposed of being a force of creation, it is one based around the reversal of creation. Specifically, it the reversal of the creation of those energies derived from the soul, such as magic, and spiritual life force energies. The effects of this energy are used to attack not the body, but the soul of an individual, tainting it with what some would label as “darkness”, which serves to hinder the use of magic’s against him for a short period of time., usually enough to pull him through a battle.

    Necromancy –

“Let me show you what lies beyond the grave.”

Every body that has lost its life force through battle, or any other means loses its soul to the Realm of The Dead. This realm, otherwise known as the astral plane, is a place where the spirits of the deceased live on, and where the notions of space and time are naught but memories. The Dead Energy stored within the necromancer enables him passage, or at least, a foot through the door of, this realm. Through this, he opens cosmic gateways, through which the spirits of the deceased, both animals, and humanoids, and of course, humans, can escape through to the worlds of the living. Generally, the souls that he brings out are suited for the jobs he needs them for. They can be manipulated to feel any way he desires them to towards individuals. Given that they have no minds with which to consider, and reject his pushes, they are submissive to his will, and will attack or defend anyone that he orders them to.

The greatest power of any necromancer is the ability to perform a process known as “soul transfusion”. In this process, they take the spiritual essence of a deceased individual, and implant it within either a willing, living host, or within a recently deceased body. The end result of the former, is an individual who embodies two separate souls within their physical body, and in the event of having a second soul that embodies a magical disposition, the bearer of the soul will, by effect, become endowed with a hint of magical abilities, albeit at the expense of full control over their actions. In the case of the latter, the body will receive a temporary revival, enabling it to serve the necromancer to use it to carry out some task or another. Even more advanced still, is the power to create an entirely new being out of the souls gathered. These beings, known as manifests, possess a finite physical form, which, unlike the bare spirits, are completely tangible by physical means. They often possess their own set of powers usually based upon the nature of the souls they were created from, and have their own personalities. Yet the creation of manifests is not an art that Kuan has yet to become proficient in, as he has never attempted to toy with such forces

    Weapon:

    Soul’s Veil –
The pivotal, and most “celebrated” weapon of Kuan, famed throughout several worlds that he has visited in his more recent days, is a lingering concentration of what some would call “energy”, which hangs like a cloud around his feet, reaching waist level. This blackish, purplish mass of matter, if one could call it such, is a powerfully necromantic essence, embodying the very spiritual essence of death itself. Within its limits, is the primary function of extracting the very life force from organic material whether it is human, animal, or plant. The methods, of course, vary, based upon the complexity of the organism that is being worked with. The energy, upon simply making contact with a plant of some sort, will automatically drain it of its life force, as it does with smaller, less complex animals. However, with more complex life forms, such as humans, or similar beings, the veil must enter into their physical bodies in order to extract the life force from their person.

Those souls that are extracted by the veil are assimilated into Kuan’s person as what he calls “dead energy”, and the veil itself becomes more powerful.

The veil is extremely flexible, and malleable, able to expand to mostly any need of the user. At a maximized power and size, the veil could potentially be used to cover over entire worlds, depending upon the energy utilized by Kuan in its use of the weapon. The apparent molecular structure of the weapon is ill defined, and probably isn’t even of any form of matter at all. This property gives it the characteristic of being able to shift its non-structure, making it into a form that it is akin to, but definable as, any type of matter that exists, and any type of matter that is in between other forms of matter. For example, it could take the form of a form of a gaseous substance, a liquid substance, or even a solid substance, or even a liquid solid (gel), or “solidified gas” (just to name a few).

    Death’s Edge –

As per standard, Death’s Edge does not really exist as a naturally formed weapon. In his travels, Kuan carries with him a rustic, wooden, hand carved walking staff, which bears a gothic impression in its appearance. Off of this staff, Kuan creates a weapon out of scratch. The weapon in question is a scythe, formed from a spiritual energy that extends out from the top of the staff. The scythe can be used to cause either physical damage, or spiritual damage to those that it strikes, or both, if Kuan desires it.

    Appearance:

Kuan Dailel is a taller individual, reaching up to a height of nearly seven feet when standing completely erect. His overall physique is a rather imposing to those that meet him for the first time, as he appears to have the vague appearance of a skeleton. But he is not nearly so thin, and worn out. He is, in actuality, a very lithe, muscular, and all in all, physically fit. His arms, and legs are slightly longer than those of the average person of his height, and his hands, and feet, slightly larger. His shoulders are broad, and slightly less muscular than the rest of his torso. In terms of complexion, he is of a very dark tanned brown hue, almost being “black”. By far, the most awkward feature upon his body is his head, which has the rough shape of an egg, which has had its upper portion “bent” back. Thus, from his forehead on, his head his slanted back wards. His face has a naturally sour expression, amplified by the fact that his eyes and hair are of a dark orange color, and his hair is wildly untamed at the moment, being long, with furry sideburns, giving his appearance a more animalistic appearance. His chin is extended out a bit farther than the average person’s, and adorns a long goatee bearing the same color as his hair. Above his right eye, he sports a piercing ring, a feature, which is shared by his nose, which is long, and slightly crooked.

As a standard, he wears the traditional brown robes of the magi school, which adorns the emblem of the magi upon its chest. Underneath this cloak, he is clad in a simple set of mixed black and white silks, which have been weaved into an underlying cloak worn beneath the heavier, overlying cloak given to him after his graduation from the school.

    Personality:

“I have my secrets, just like everyone else.”

Despite being a man of a threatening appearance, and an even more threatening form of magic at his disposal, Kuan is actually a very friendly individual. Yet at times he comes off as being hard to read in that fashion, as he is known to mask his kindness behind his frustrations, and fears that have plagued him for some time. When it comes down to it, he is pretty much afraid to admit to actually caring about anyone, afraid to concede to being someone who can actually feel anything for another. A part of this is fueled by the concealed fact that he worries for those people, and fears their forced use by others in getting to him, if such a situation ever arose. Because of this concealment of care, he has been known to drive others away, either through action, or word, leaving him isolated for long periods of time.

By far, the most peculiar fear of Kuan, while not the most prominent, is his secret fear of death. It is widely unknown, even by his peers, that he has a strong fear of his own mortality, and the idea of mortality in general. It is a fear based upon the question “what happens when we die?” Being that he doesn’t know the answer to this, he is constant worry of it, even though his powers have offered some glimpse into it. His signs of this fear are subtle at best, limited to a conservative use of his magic, and staying clear of dead bodies, and keeping his distance from his manifests, and summoned spirits. In this sense, the fear is ironic, considering that he possesses the powers over the manipulation of death. Often times, he gets caught up in ways of creating a path to his own achievement of immortality, which usually ends in failure.

I would prefer just traveler mages at this point. They don't come in contact with Senventra for a while. The senz can all use fire air water and earth. Their affinity shows which they are most suited to. I'm afraid no senz has ever been able to use all of the elements at the same level of power during this stage in their life. It takes a lot of practice to become disciplined in all the arts to the same level. Many decades in fact.

    Edit:

I only have one issue with Kuan. His Death veil seems to have enough range and power to be considered a god mod, even with his inhibitions. I would like it if that power only extended at a most, 10 meters from his body. It could make a dome if you wanted, but covering worlds would be a little over the top. Also the people on this planet don't know much about space technology. Nothing in fact, they are still just coming out of their first dark age.

    Otherwise all characters are excepted.

    Thanks a lot.

Also, electricity goes under fire as it is heat and energy. There fore, Lightening is a fire art. An advanced one, but one i'm sure a traveler mage should know. They are strong, they just don't know everything about their art.

Also, i have decided to allow ether, but not in the way you all think.

Ether will be the combination of all 4 magic arts of the senz, and only a true master of all four magic can fully use this power. How ever, a novice can still learn how to use some ether techniques, though they will not be able to fully use its power without careful study and work.

I will add ultimate powers on the front page.

Edit: Take a look at the race listing on the front page to view your races ultimate magics, but be sure your character doesn't over use them.
