Closed minded, possibly. I'd like to think of it as my reason. I say there is no reason for life, but that in itself expresses a reason as you're trying to explain. It's basically saying to live for the moment though it may not say that directly. I didn't mean to say it doesn't exist, but I don't see there to be a need for one. I don't see it as ignoring it, though. I see it as just not worrying.

I c, I think we agree then, our backgrounds tho make us come from different paths, thats were some confusion comes in. 2 different paths that come to the same conclusion.

 

There was a time when I was introduced to Wiccan, but I really didn't like that. As for the leaving my church part, I don't know. I love my church very much because that's where my pastor shows me that's anything is possible & where they don't even bash other religions even though they find the errors of their ways. We come together & pray. I may move to a different state where I will go to a different church, but I'm not really sure.

Edit: Before anyone one of you is trying to start bashing me just because I was introduced to Wiccan, this was way before I was baptized. I was still going to church though.

 

good question, and actually I personally come from both sides of that equation. I was born into Lutheran Christianity through my mom, and my dad wanted me to grow up in a religious moral education sysytem, even though he is like me and does not belong to any specific religion and is seeking the truth. But about 4 years ago I was reading the Bible and started questioning things, left Christianity (and now I really hate Christianity), and have found other religions more insightful.

I've read the entire Bible 5 times through, there are a lot of things I question. I'll go over them sometime, but some of the basics is Genesis in general, a lot of Revelations/Ezekiel/ and the stories of Jesus, and the biggy if the questioning of the Morning Star. Because Lucifer and Jesus both call themselves the Morning Star. Its very weird, and there is no explanation but the basic. and that is that they r one in the same....they r the same being.

 

but what does anybody know, really people do religon and prasie god becasue there scared god will step on them or not give them everlasting life, so people are kinda greedy and self centered when it's reliogn no offense to anybody i'm just saying some.

 

Hmm...... There is some truth to that Answer Man. People are scared that God will step on them or not give them everlasting life. I guess a little bit of religion can be greedy. Its basically a big part of one of the 7 deadly sins, greed. Hmm.....

 

Yes. The Morning star. Two different people, yet they have the same title. That part I can answer. If you read Matthews, this is what it says:

" Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is ritten, he shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot agaist a stone. Jesus said unto him, it is written again, thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them: Ad saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. then saith Jesus unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy god, and him only shalt thou serve. then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."

Matthews 4:1-11. Yes, they have the same title & the title may make you think that Jesus & Satan are the same, but they are not. You can see that while Jesus fasted, that Satan came unto him to tempt him, but Jesus was speaking out the words of what one shall do for God about what is truly written in the bible. When you said something about this, I immediately remembered about a verse about Jesus & Satan & went straight for it, which I remembered was in the beginning of Matthews. If Jesus & Satan is the same, then how come Satan way before Jesus said that he shall be higher than God & rebelled against God five times? If Jesus & Satan are the same, then how come Jesus knows that people shall worship God & him alone? If Jesus & Satan are the same, then how come Jesus went to the people & said the words unto them, baptizing them with the Holy Spirit. Satan do not have the power to do that. I hope this answer your question about the Morning Star, but if it don't, then I can give you more answers to this.

The reason why Jesus also has the title of the morning star is because he is the true morning star. If you read 2nd Peters around 17-20, you will understand more about this, but verse 19 will get make things more understandable:

2Pet 1:19 (NIV) And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

As to Satan with the title of the Morning Star, there are two differences. Satan tries to have everything while Jesus himself lives his life for the God & the gospel. Jesus lives humbly, don't boast, or don't even be arrogant. he give himself over to God even after he died. Satan is actually the morning star with the small m & s. Jesus has this to say to everyone when he was givig the message:

2Th 2:3-5 (NAS) Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?

this is what Jesus was telling you. Jesus is the TRUE Morning Star. Jesus is the light while Satan is of the darkness.

 

Ok, I see what you're saying Brandon. So basically its like Yin and Yang. Jesus Yin while Satan is yang. Jesus is the white knight while Satan is the red dragon.

 

so when those two conflicting sides go at it that's judgement day and when ppl will either die or live, but god in my religon promsied all of us that he would never flood the world again so that's checked off. that's what rainbows are for, so ppl will remeber that contract with god, and he wont blow up or destroy his on world like in 2012, but really just earthquakes everywhere big floods but not like that, ice caps gone, the law be twisted by drug dealers nobody is rescpful anymore, more death than there is now, like hitler killing death toll, that's how where supposed to see the world will end, and food shortage.

 

Actually, i used to think that 2012 was our divine punishment for being sinners. I guess I'm wrong though.

 

Well, kind of in a way, but let me also say this. If Jesus & Satan are the same, then how come when Jesus was baptized, the heavens opened and a dove, being the spirit of God, came to him and said "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."? I hope Mythril really read this good because questions like these can make you have doubts, but if you gain enough knowledge & give yourself fully onto God, promising him to give him the best of the best while doing the work that he wanted you to do, fasting & praying while reading your bible, you will be able to gain more knowledge of God's power & wisdom.

 

wow, your really a faithful person aren't your SB? well i got to say this, Jesus is not the same as Satan, Jesus was the first angel ever made, and Satan was jealous of god and wanted ppl to worship him. which i dont know how if angels where supposed to be loyal to god. and i think god is kinda a angel that is just higher up, and there's something bigger that god, because here's the question that really confuses you about religion:

If god made us, Who made god?

 

Very good Summoner brandon, very good. I like it. But the thing is.....you're missing a step. You got so far, only to come short...

Now, lets think for a moment...what is Satan's greatest ability? Some would say lies, others greed, but I believe it is Lies in a specific form. Illusion. Trickery. Satan is not dumb, he is powerful, some might think as powerful as God.
And so, what is the point? Well.....Couldn't Satan have skrewed with the Bible? Maybe not physically himself, but evil men through out time? Man is not God, man wrote the Bible. So to say it is the Word of God is dumb. No man is holy. No man is pure. So couldn't evil men, with Satan's temptation or not, have merely put that story in there just to confuse people. You see I know what you were saying B, but I dont believe in somethings in the Bible. I hate people who pick and choose, but I will admit I do it as well. And why do people have to pick and choose with the Bible? Because it countradicts itself so much. That is why there are so many different perspectives in Christianity.
But back to my point, My point is that the power of the deil is strong. I'm not trying to praise the devil in the statement, but it is a fact. And no matter how powerful your faith, and no matter how much the Holy Spirit is in you, the ultimant question I have to you , B, is this. Are you stronger than the devil?
If you answer Yes, that you are egotistical, blind, and obviously not fit for anything beyond your bubble of "honkey dory" Christian beliefs. But if you answer No, then you start to realize what I am getting at. Is this realm not the realm of Satan? Is he not the King of this universe? He is the Morning Star, the highest star in the heavens. The Sun. The Sun of God. He controls us through manipulation. He controls us through confusion. And although the Bible has its fallacies through Satan, when many people discover what I have discovered they seem to beleive it is all tainted by him (Satan). But it isn't Don't you see, thats just what Satan wants. He has worked his way into making you think he is your Savior, your hero, your Jesus, while on the other hand those smart enough to have figured it out see God and religion as a whole as something evil altogether, making them forget that there is a true God, because he (Satan) doesn not want us to believe there is anything stronger than him. But there is. That is why he is such a weak King, he may be a King, but a King among fools, a King among the sinners and beggers, a King among the selfish and lustful, King of the evil, King of the dirt. He is nothing compaired to the real God. But no one will every know that, no one will know how I feel, no one will see how Satan has played his game and he has beaten all of us. No one will open their eyes, because he's worked his manipulation in so deep that you cant crawl out. Especially Christians. Why? Because....you think he's your best friend.
Now....Take a look at these passages Summonerbarndon...and please tell me what you think:

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven."

The world is not as pure and hopeful as you might think...

Excuse me, but Jesus was never officially created. It was Lucifer who was the first angel, but according to me, they're the same thing, haha.

As for who made god? The answer is time.
