What if, at some point, the two sword wielders have to face off, to see who will wield the ultimate sword? (i.e, they combine)

    Haresuno KH-3's Übermensch

Nonono. I didn't mean literally that. Though the thought did cross my mind that one of the sword wielders becomes evil then good again, however I quickly tossed that idea out as there is already a RP going on with that current thought.

I used that as an example because that's the only thing I could think of the moment.

Other examples could be taken from books such as the moral of this entire RP is that for ever action there are at least three unintentional consequences for the one reaction you expected (see Law of Unintentional Consequence)

EDIT: Riku, that is also something I thought of. I'd like for there to be two wielders in the end, however it is not at all unlikely that there can be one. Perhaps we could vote on that or let the players vote.

So, for instance, if one player took a certain action, it would block the action of another person, which could cause or prevent something from happening?

Que? I get the Law of Unintentional Consequence, but i don't get what you are trying to accomplish with it...

    Haresuno KH-3's Übermensch

    Again it was another example.

The law of unintentional consequence basically states for any action you take, next to the one you expected there are at least three more that you did not expect, and most of those you will not like.

    For instants.

Say you are a warrior who wishes to be renounced for your strength and bravery, what do you do? Simple, go out and find the strongest man/woman/beast/spirit/w.e.

But say that the strongest beast/spirit is sealed away. In order to fight it you'd have to unseal it. By unsealing it you unleash it, full power -or not-. Now what you expect to be the result of unsealing it is simple: it'll be free.

However, by following the Law of Unintentional Consequence three possible unexpected things will happen.

    - Pure evil will be unleashed upon the world
    - It will flee to gather strength and then wreck havoc on the world
    - It is a spirit of good that doesn't fight, and was sealed away by evil persons.

There are more because the possibilities are near endless.

If we used that for the RP it would force the RPers -or at least teach them- that for every action there are multiple reactions. Not just one.

No. It was not FF III. I think you're thinking about FF VI (I think that one was released in America as FF III).

And if you need somebody to fill a villian spot, I'd be glad to help.

    Okay i get it =P

    That's great =D

And Hare, do you have any personality's you want for certain teachers, or should i just start creating some?

  8. Haresuno

    Haresuno KH-3's Übermensch

Well I'd certainly like creativity when you make them, and I don't want them to be alike. You could go for the old philosophical type, or you could go random and have the way out there types. It's up to you.

  9. merlinosheep

    merlinosheep A.K.A The Leaver

Okay, great =D i already have some idea's up my sleeve.
i'll start creating today or tommorow.

Alright. Oh! I'll try and draw a map so everyone has a reference.

  11. Beloved

So, are we going to be guiding them into situations, or are they going to be making them themselves?

Like that sealed creature for instance.

  12. Haresuno

    Haresuno KH-3's Übermensch

Initially we are going to be guides. But that doesn't mean we can't join in the fun. We just need to know how to separate character from guide. That way the RP doesn't become about our characters.

Made a quick edit on the first page listing a few of the classes. Tell me what you think and are there any other additional things to add to the descriptions?

EDIT: At the moment I only have up the main classes. I'll add the sub-classes later on. We might also want to think about what variations of classes we can have. For instance:

    Fire + Earth = Magmamage

    Fire + Water = Mist

Summoner + 1 other element = Summon creature from respective element

    Water + Earth = Mud

    Water + Air = Ice

    Air + Earth = Dust/Sand/Dirt

    Fire + Air = N/A

    Prophet + anything else = N/A

    Acolyte + anything else = N/A

    GrandShadow I accept your challange.

Fire+Air could be heat. not like how hot fire or anything is but heat. low levels make shields from pure heat, melts attacks that come too close. higher levels could be heat waves to melt things of the enemy or suffocate them by super-heating the air. this would have to be kept watch of to prevent god-modding but it'll work. call it a Tempromage

Hmm.. I see where you're going Shadow, however to me it feels forced. I'm waiting on the other Band members to weigh in.

  15. merlinosheep

    merlinosheep A.K.A The Leaver

I like the idea. =D And why wouldn't we add it as sub class?

  16. Haresuno

    Haresuno KH-3's Übermensch

I will, but I'm going to do that later. Right now I want you guys to weigh in on the sub-classes I have now and think on other variations.

  17. Beloved

    Beloved Azure's Beloved

    I like where you're going with this. But right now, its seems like these would force the players into specific strategies. Mages are variators. They're the most versatile of any type of adventuring character anywhere. So say this;

    Fire+Air=Heat, like shadow said.

With this they can create=Fire, Wind, small tornadoes. Fire tornadoes. Barriers of fire, wind, or both.

    Water+Air=Ice

Creates=Water, Wind, small tornades. Gusts filled with frost particles. Ice stormes. Ice projectiles.

There's soooo many variations to all of these. Which means, if we use what you came up with there. A player can do a LOT to alter their surroundings and situations.

  18. merlinosheep

    merlinosheep A.K.A The Leaver

    Yes, i agree to that.

  19. Haresuno

    Haresuno KH-3's Übermensch

Alright, well let me add in the sub classes and see what else needs getting done.

  20. Haresuno

    Haresuno KH-3's Übermensch

OKay, I added a few sub-classes and a brief explanation of the point system. I'll go back and add a bit more, but first - can you guys think of anything else that needs to be done before we start? I need to make a map, but other than that I don't think there's much. Merlin should be creating a bunch of teachers for the Wizard's Spire.

    EDIT:

Testing out the pic for the map.

... Hmm... I think I need to re-draw it w/ a Rosetta Star or something.
