    Are most myths true?

You're being a bit too subjective here...you have to establish, or verify that most myths are true before you can draw a conclusion like that...

It seems like, in every day use at least, calling something a myth is almost like an insult...discrediting something. (Such as calling God a myth, which is meant as an insult)

well, myths tell people how the world was made, like how e got fire, or how thougth luck up, something like that.

But it could be argued that myths are simple twisted, reconstructed versions of the events which occurred...

Like, the subject matter of the myth itself seems irrelevant. It could be about creation, elements, or my grandmother's haunted underwear (lol), but it'd be a myth in either case.

What makes you think most myths are true? (I'm not saying they're not...I'm just saying enlighten me if they are)

well let me say it this way, myths tell of the world, helps explain it in a exciting but moral ending way. one myths says there was a Phoenix that made the world, or a raven, there are many ones, but i think this is off topic. so i wont go into it deep.

But this isn't about whether or not they're interesting...arguably so.

You said "but then how would explain why most myths are true."

But in regards to say creation...how can even two, let alone 'most' myths be true?
