Colonel Caboose The Man, the Myth, the Legend

Dirk had been travilgn for hours, he didn't ever stop to take a rest. Dirk ened up going through so villages killing any soldiers or anyone who attacked. Dirk said the same to every village as he walked down the streets, "We are already invading east monos as I speak it woun't be long for south Monos." Dirk continued to follow the energy trail, but the longer it was the weaker it got. That rage mode must have weaken him daerly, oh well ot might be getting weaker, but the closer I get the bigger the trail gets.

"You still look so worn out," Vivienne sighed.

For the umpteenth time, Vivienne touched Jake's forehead with glowing fingertips. She bit her lip in worry. She had been constantly transferring her energy to him, but he didn't seem to be getting better. That something in him, whatever it is, was still rejecting her energy.

After a few minutes, she lifted her hand and plopped down beside him, feeling drained. She buried her head in her knees as she attempted to strategize. It seemed obvious that Seth and those other creeps would try to get their hands on their 'Fallen One', so her main concern was protecting him while he's in his weakened state. Those Attrox scum probably weren't beneath attacking the defenseless, and Jake was the very definition of it.

Well, first things first… She cast a barrier around Jake to temporarily conceal his presence and allowed herself a brief moment to rest. Then, she has to take him in a remote area, somewhere he can properly rest.

She glanced at Jake's fatigued figure and sighed again. "That must've been one heck of a power surge."

    Hey. Hey, wake up!
    Wha...
Jake opened his eyes and looked around. He was on top of a mountain, everything below was shrouded by clouds. "Finally. Took you long enough." Jake turned to see someone that looked exactly like him, his dark half. "Where are we?" the dark half looked around for a moment. "Your head. None of this is real. But I gotta ask, can you feel it?" Jake looked confused, "Feel what?"
"Damn it all." The dark half stood up from the rock he was sitting on. "Heh, I guess it must be some cosmic joke. You only felt it because I was in control."
    "Felt what?"
"The pain! That excruciable pain that assaulted our minds as soon as we warped! You just said you can't feel it, well, I can!" Jake looked at him closely and could tell he was resisting the impulse to grab his head. "Can't say you don't deserve it but what now? We just killed one of the most dangerous men on the planet. What do we do now?"
"That's up to you. If I take control, you'll feel the pain so I highly doubt you'll let me. We need a new sword. And we need to figure out how to beat Attrox without synching our minds."
"You've given it plenty of thought."
"It seems to lessen the pain if I'm thinking about other things. Besides, how long do you think you've been out?"
"A few hours?" The dark half shook his head and walked over to him. He placed his hand on Jake's head. "Time to wake up Jake..."

Jake's eyes snapped open. He sat up and grabbed at his chest. My broken bones, they're fixed. Same with my arm. Who? He looked to see Vivienne standing next to him. Jake tried to get up but couldn't. It was as if there was an invisble wall holding him in. A barrier? As far as I know that's her power. But why would she lock me up? "Um, Vivienne right? Would you mind letting me out?"

Dirk contiuned to walk he was getting closer and closer, I'm almost there I was able to combine the females energry trail which is also still weak with the boy to make a stronger trail, but it still seams to be fading away. I can almost smell them, wait no, the energry it's fading too quickly now! There hiding there presecne! Dirk then started running as fast he could, breathing heavily under his knights armor. NO! it has dissappeared, but it was last coming from this way! dirk climbed a hill, to only see nothing at the top. Dirk yelled out inraged. "I was so close!" Dirk look at his surrroundings. Well they couldn't have gone anywhere else except for the forest of north monos which seprated the plains of west monos. so I'll go there. Dirk stormed off the hill, through the plains and into the forest.

Vivienne jumped at Jake's voice. She stared at him for a few seconds in disbelief, rubbing her eyes to ascertain she wasn't hallucinating. She was flabbergasted. "You're awake… just like that?" She had been watching over him for hours, but he didn't seem like he would regain consciousness anytime soon. She smiled in relief. At least now, he wouldn't be so susceptible to surprise any Attrox attacks.

"Avoid acting recklessly until you fully recover, please," she stressed as she hesitantly removed the barrier. Then she looked him in the eye and addressed the other being residing in Jake. "That goes for you too, 'dark side." She still didn't completely grasp the inner machinations of Jake's mind, but she understood enough to know that there were two Jakes in there.

"Now, unless you want the Attrox to find you, I suggest we start moving."

"So you know him? Well somethings going on in my head that neither of us can figure out but it's hurting him so he won't be bothering me for a while." Jake stood up but swayed back and forth for a moment, he felt like the world was going haywire beneath him. It took him a bit to keep his balance. "So, where are we headed? And how long was I out?"

Seth had written out a message of the utmost importance. He headed out to Valentine Tower and was soon, outside his door. "Give this to him when when you get the chance. Tell him it is from me and it is important." Seth handed the rolled parchment to the servent and left. He mounted the white horse he had waiting for him and took off.
    ------------------------------------
    (the message)
Valentine, I'm sorry I must ask this of you but no one else can fufil this task besides myself and I shall be busy. I plan on resurrecting Caedus but I need ingredients for the spell. Most are easy and can be done by myself but there are two that require special attention. One is blood of the killer, which is what I am currently on my way to aquire. The other is bones of the past, or to put it better, bones of his family. At least one bone, any will do, is needed. I do not know what was done with Caedus' family or if he even had one, it wasn't a subject he shared with me. However with your...skills it should be easy for you to discover them. I will return as soon as possible and until then I hope you can do this favor for me. Your humble advisor, Seth Daigun

Vivienne nodded as Jake explained his dark side's predicament. Her assumption was right; there was something else in him, the one that rejected her energy. She watched worriedly as he struggled with his balance, but it looked like he would manage. "Actually, I don't really know where to go. I'm unfortunately unfamiliar with the world outside of Lato." Vivienne grimaced. "And you were out for hours. You power surge really took a toll on you."

"Well," Jake looked around, trying to recognize his surroundings. "I think we're in Monos. My darkside is the one that warped us, so he'd pick a somewhat familiar place. I think I've been here before. If I'm right then there's a town that way." Jake pointed and slowly walked over to Vivienne. "I've only used that power once before, and that was training. For my first time using it in battle, I think I did pretty well."

Dirk had finally reached the forest when it happen. The energy trail it's up and running, also it's, it's stronger. This makes things alot more easier. Dirk started to chuckle a little, but stopped and comtinued on with his mission. Dirk had been going through the forst for about an hour now when he came over a small hill and saw them. Dirk jumped down. and slowly crawled over the hill and looked at the two. I better try and see if I can contact Lord Seth. Dirk sat quietly and didn't move he was concetrating all his energy on talking to Lord Seth. it was a great distance and required very much energy. "Lord Seth, can you here me? I have found the boy and the girl in the southmost part of the north monos forest."

Valentine quickly read through Seth's letter and his head began swirling. He knew Caedus, but to his knowledge, he had never had a family. The only one he had was destroyed, by Caedus, almost 3000 years ago. Valentine hurried to his study and began furrowing throughout his vast archives. After about 30 minutes of rigorous searching, he stopped a moment. A slight grin went across his face. He went down to his desk and pulled out parchment and a quill. He quickly scribbled down a note and gave it to his servant.

"Be sure to get this to Seth Daigun BEFORE he gets to far away!"

The servant took off like a bat from hell.

    The note read like this.

Daigun, I have the memory you requested. Unfortunately, I cannot help you obtain it further, as you are already much closer to the task. The source of my knowledge is not meaningful, but the knowledge itself is completely factual and true. Get the bone from the boy.

(OOC: Seth sealed hismind off from Dirk, remember?)

Seth was far out when he heard a messenger yell for him. He stopped and the messenger soon caught up with him. Seth took the parchment and the messenger left. Seth unrolled it and read the message. From the boy? But how will that help? This makes little sense, however Valentine has always had a knack for being correct about such things. From the boy it will come. Seth burnt the parchment with a spell and spurred his horse onward at a high speed.

OOC: it doesn't hurt to try? it's like having a radio, but the transmission tower is off, but when there's bombs going off, your still going to try.

Dirk's message failed, Lord Seth still blocked his mind from Dirk's mind reading and messaging. Damn always has his mined blocked when I need to tell him something. Oh well I'll just sit back and watch, follow them if they go anywhere. "This is going to be boring, probably the most boring day of my life." Dirk said aloud to himself.

"You've only used it once? That's really dangerous—ah!" Vivienne stopped midsentence, feeling an exasperatingly familiar presence nearby. It was that Attrox mind reader. She looked at Jake, still sluggish from his overexertion. If he knew lower ranking guy was there, he might recklessly spring into action.

    "Anyway, let's go."

She grabbed Jake's arm and hurriedly pulled him toward the direction of the town. She snuck a glance behind her, glaring at where she assumed lower ranking guy was. It didn't seem like he planned on attacking for the meantime, or he would have done so by now. She just needed a little time to recover her energy. Then she'll be in the mood to beat the crap out of him.

She figured he would be reading their mind. Die, you stupid Attrox soldier!

Dirk knew the girl had learned of his presence. Soon after they started moving towards a town up ahead. Well I better follow them, don't want to lose them. First I better mask myself in the magic. Dirk said a couple of words no one could have understand unless a they knew the spell. Alright, lets go. Dirk came out from behind the hill and started walking far enough behind them they wouldn't see him, but he could see them. Dirk sent out a message to the girl through mind reading. You know I'm her, I know that. I am a man of honor and attacking a weak person who can barely hold a weapon, I find the same as an unarmed person. And there is no honor in that. But the minute your strength has regained, you better watch out.
