Orpheus leapt from his sheath, guided by Caedus's hand to parry Jake's oncoming blow, leading him into the path of his own rubble attack, while Caedus was moved to the side by his Capefeo parry. As the rubble flew between them, Caedus, taking notice of the terrain, decided to sink into the Aggripa style, and threw thrusts at Jake's chest that moved like lightning.

 

Caedus was surprised by the boy's adept power in magic. He was soon encased in a sphere of rubble. Seeing how weak the structure of the building was, Caedus quickly construced a plan. He plunged the blunt side of Orpheus into the ground, backed by all his weight. The floor fell away, and he passed to a lower level. He landed, still on his feet, and he could feel Jake still on the floor above. Lightning flew freely from his outstretched hands, radically blasting apart the above floor with various bolts flying at Jake.

 

Caedus shifted his weight to the right into a spin, bringing his right fist smashing into the flat side of Jake's outstretched blade, knocking it out of his way. His spin continued, bringing his left boot heel whirling to crack into the side of Jake's head.

 

Caedus stood, somewhat dumbstruck. He then grinned as he felt the boy's darker power taking control.

"Now this is what im talking about..."

 

"Hmph! Amateur STILL!"

Caedus's own power erupted, encasing him in a shield of electrical power. The rubble distintegrated as soon as it touched the shield. He let out another burst of power, and the shield expanded, until it exploded, sending a shock wave hurtling to every corner of the room, destroying all remaining rubble, and causing every floor in the tower above them to blast apart. The shockwave hurtled at Jake.

 

Dirk contiuned to walk down the road looking at everything burning, screamscould be heared in the air. Dirk rounded the corner as the person he was chasing did sooner. Dirk came around the corner to see it was a dead end. Dirk pulled out his sword and contiuned to walk, as he got closer he noticed she was holding something. when dirk was funny close enough to see it was a child, a young lad to be excat. Dirk held his sword up high readt to strike, but Dirk notice years coming from the women, which for some reason made him stop from bringing his sword down. Something wouldn't let him. Dirk got mad and punched the wall next to him. Dirk soonwed walked away without any blood to be seen on him. Dirk contiuned to walk and started thinking, Why couldn't I kill them? I've killed men and women, and even children before! she probably used magic or something. I'll think about it later I better contact the lords about my victory!

 

Caedus grinned.

"You are a wise-crack... Nothing like that foolish alter-ego of yours. No... I sense something far Darker in you."

He then concentrated his power into a singal spot and, instead of using it to protect himself, he made use of what he had. He had no way to dodge the attack... No way to protect himself. He did know though, that the boy was still an amateur at magic, and he had forgotten the golden rule. Never leave your guard down. Using the amount of power he was, Jake would not be able to dodge any attack at this moment. He would either have to cancel his onslaught to dodge Caedus's attack, or he would die if Caedus's attack hit him. Having no way to dodge, Caedus concentrated his strength. His palm glowed with magnificent power.

He then let loose a bolt of lightning more than strong enough to kill Jake if it hit.

 

The undying entities closed in on Vivienne. She charged at the nearest one, and gouged out its eyes. Another took its place, and she made short work of him with a parry-stab combo. This continued, but in vain, as they continually advanced on her.

They came at her from all sides...no soldier, no matter how formidable, had eyes in the back of their head...and that's where they began to advance on valiant Vivienne. Just as it seemed as though one was close enough to strike Vivienne, a battlecry came from the East, toward the Grand Citadel.

A knight clad in dull armor with an ordinary blade ran through the crowd of...things. Mithyl had held up his left hand, and his finger tips glowed with a calm, white light. He clasped what resembled the face of the foe closest to Vivienne. It emitted a piercing shriek which sent a chill down Mithyl's spine.

Upon pulling away from Mithyl's hand, his finger tips had burned themselves into its horrific visage. It took a few steps backward, and stumbled to the ground, as if blinded, knocking over two other beings. Mithyl swiftly decapitates the nearest one as the glowing of his finger-tips fades away.

"This is hardly a fair fight!" Mithyl jests. "Come...if we stay back to back, we can prevent them from advancing on us from behind!"

 

Dirk was just about to call lord Caedus, but sensed he was endanger. Jet turned to the soldiers and told them,"find the secret tunnel of the forgtton city and use it to get to monos I have other work to do and I'll be back. Dirk teleported to Caedues location and noticed a man coming right at him. Dirk held his ground and let the man ram him head on. the man hit dirk with great force, but Dirk didn't budge. The man had gotton hurt Dirk knew this for a fact. considering he was in a full suit of armor that also had spikes.

 

It was no use. Vivienne could persist on attacking these monsters all day, but she knew it would be futile. A quick scan of the area told her she was completely surrounded—even chances of flight were nonexistent. They were closing in… she could easily fend off those in her view, but she was vulnerable if they attack from all sides. At this point, only a miracle could save her.

A startling battle cry resonated within the tunnel. She shivered. Amazing! In contrast to the dark aura that had emanated from the Attrox warrior, the presence of this knight brought about an almost blinding radiance. He effortlessly charged through the army, and moved toward her. Up close, his aura seemed even more brilliant. Vivienne was dazed.

"This is hardly a fair fight!" Mithyl jests. "Come...if we stay back to back, we can prevent them from advancing on us from behind!"

His voice snapped her from her reverie. "R-right!"

Vivienne positioned herself and began attacking at her front. She grinned excitedly; miracles do happen.

 

Caedus sneered, and decided that, in such a situation, it was perfectly acceptable for a gentlemen to... cheat.

"Take This!"

The sword in Jake's hand, Orpheus, growled and bucked, spitting lightning directly into Jake's forearm.

 

Dirk laughed and said, "It seems your trying to kill yourself? well good luck with that mate." Dirk foucesed to balls of energy and shot them at the ceiling. Dirk made a hole for him and lord Ceadus. "After you my lord Caedus, will leave the pest to kill himself. His darkside is pretty stupid, but lets not stay to find out he is dead."

 

Caedus made a move and leapt back down to Jake, landing on his feet.

"Good try"

Caedus trotted towards Jake in a very snobby fashion, making sure to give a strong hint that he was Jake's better. He put Orpheus back in his sheath, and held his hands in front of him to show there was no need to fight anymore.

"You are unlilke the other one... How would you like to join Attrox under my close supervision? I could train you to control your power far greater than you can possibly imagine. But, just to give you some food for thought, how would you like to be able to move the continent of Vance?"
