Michael Jackson has died:(. But everybody calls him the King Of Pop, do you think he should have that title, do you think he is the King of pop or not. Also you can say what you think about what he did In his will, his life, or anything about him this is a debate about what you think of him mostly.

I think he deserved that tile. He was the best dancer, and made the coolest song and all of them you could dance to. :D

He deserves the title in my opinion. His song "Thriller" has sold out millions of albums. He's the only one who can dance like that too. As for his voice, no one can ever sound like him. It's so astonishing that he had a heartattack and he had Vitiligo.
He also took a powerful drug before he died... Sooooo sad. R.I.P. Michael. R.I.P.

I believe that hfe deserves to have that title. He's one of the greatest singers & dancers that I know. He made songs with his brothers & his sister, Janet Jackson, during the Jackson 5, he went up to the top when other people tried so hard to take him down & keep him away from the path that he meant to take, he deserve to have that title just by having faith. ^^

I think that Michael Jackson was one of the best singers and dancers ever. He had a great voice and he's an incredible dancer. It sucks that he died. A lot of people think that he was a freak, but I think that he sometimes made the wrong choice, but everyone makes mistakes. Plus his dad sucked, so maybe he just had a lot of trauma? I think Micheal Jackson was awesome, just made some mistakes and strange choices in his life.

I hope no one takes offense to this...but you're all too young to know Michael Jackson (or at least whoever's age I can see)...heck, I'm too young, and I'm pretty sure I'm the oldest one here (cuz I'm an old fart like that). Instead you know his legacy, the 'aftermath.' Were you alive when he released Thriller? No, it was released in 1982 (and that was already his 6th album)...you didn't 'experience' the changes he made to music, you're just quoting other peoples' accounts of it.

That in and of itself, shows the man has a legacy...but please stop just jumping on the bandwagon. I'm so sick of hearing Michael Jackson songs on the radio, it seems disrespectful even.

What, the man was alive and everyone makes dirty jokes, but the instant he dies it's all taboo to do so? No...it was never ok.

Haha, posted the exact same thing in sotw discussion (this weeks theme is MJ)

anyway, we may be to young to know MJ at his best but we all know his music in one way or another, I was brought up around MJ as my parents were fans, as a toddler I don't get much choice on what music I listen to and music has had a quite heavy influence on my life.

I'm not old enough to listen to Scatman Johns greatest on release but that does't stop me listening to it now and loving it.

Granted none of us were around for the greatest fan decade but that doesn't really matter.

yeah, plus even if we weren't there, we've all(or i have) read something about him, not in magazines but in is autobiography. or just his bio. we may be young, but young people sometimes like the old. You weren't there where you when he was still black looking, or when he was still Mexican looking. And to his songs on the radio, that i agrre with, plus when everybody stops talking bad about the dude he dies, but after the funrel they start up agian. that makes me mad, the world was cruel to MJ he migth not have deserved to die. but at least with all the pain in his life he didn't die in pain. But now he in a Better Place.

Um... Mike. they have books about him. They even had a movie on him. That's how I know a lot about Michael Jackson at this young age. He was famous then too.

Actually I was quite young, but I was there :p guess I'm older than you thought. I didn't listen to MJ by choice, but by the time I was 4 I was ripping off (the technical term is 'biting') his dance moves.

Let me address all the points made, by saying the following:

You either jumped on the bandwagon (after his death) or you didn't...and I can't tell you which one you've done...but I guarantee there are some people here who did.

    1) If you did - then see my previous post.
    2) If you didn't - why did it take the man's death for his so-called 'revival' ? If you didn't jump on the bandwagon because of his death, then you're as disgusted as I am that it's become such a fad.

I agree with Answer Man, summerbrandon and Pulse. Full-heartedly. It makes me mad that people think it's ok to trash talk MJ when he's alive, stop when he died and then start up again.

You're only proving his point summonerbrandon. He said you only know of his legacy. Those books you read, they talk about his legacy. You weren't there to truly know what happened.

As a side note, my mom and stepdad talked about Thriller once. They said that the music video was so popular just because Michael Jackson did it. And that he made it even more popular just because he told everybody they'd have to wait to see it. In all honesty, that seems a little sad to me.

    Didn't I say that?

Watch Thriller and then watch another 80s music video...you'll see why it was so popular.

Its dance moves, special effects, atmosphere and sound were years ahead of its time.

I mean sure, it was probably hyped up a little bit but that doesn't mean it's bad. Look how much they're hyping up Starcraft II by using the success of the first installment...yet I'm sure that the sequel will be a good game.

    ----------------

EDIT: And I love Scatman Johns...he turned his disability into his trademark :D Unbelievable sound.

I've seen it. It is actually a little creepy to me.

If it comes out. It has been in development for 2 years now? And they talked about creating it for at least 5 years or something. One of my friends joked that Starcraft II and Diablo III are never gonna come out.

Everyone has their own preferences, but I don't know if you can deny that it kicks the crap out of other 80s music videos. Haha, ever been "Rick-Rolled?"

Bahaha yes...I was just thinking to myself a little while ago how Blizzard is a con artist and how this is probably just a cheap ploy to get us back onto the original Starcraft. It worked on me xD I've been playing lately...been trying to perfect my Dark Templar rush, haha...work in progress :\

But no, I'm happy to say that it does seem as though they've been making progress. SC II is available for pre-order at the EB near my house...dunno if I will, I doubt it'll be as good as the original.

I'll probably wait like 5 years to buy it.
