Restraint

Kid walked into the presidents office rudely and sitting down before he did. He pulled out a gun at the president and cocked the hammer. "Bang" he whispered as he pulled the trigger. The click was heard but the gun was empty. "So, what's the job?" he asked.

 

"Disgusting, you expect me to try work with them FREAKS?" Kid said rudely. "I tend to work alone... but I can learn more about these freaks by hanging out with them." he offered. He looked around the office to make sure no one else was around and walked closer to the president to ask something in private, "tell me, why are you using the A.S.R infected to aid you eradicate other A.S.R bastards?"

 

"Because, truly only A.S.R. can combat A.S.R. and win successfully without a high casulty toll. Plus we can eradicate them fully." Spoke Johnnathan as he walked in to the office. His white trench coat showed little dust spots from travel and a chain that was wound around his left hand traveled back out into the hallway. A sly grin marked his face as he looked on to the pathetic human. The light reflected off his orange tinted sunglasses, hiding his deep blue eyes.

 

Nicole sat on the hill of an old farm not that far from New York. A rumour spread of A.S.R. people meeting in New York. She didn't want to go, but she felt she had to. She feered though going back she may get caught by someone else and use her for robberies. She looekd at the setting sun and gathered some wood. She layed her finger on the wood and it sparked with fire. A fire started and she laid down looking at the sky.

 

James walked into the office while pushing past security. "Step aside humans," he said rudely. "The true ASR users are here! If we get codenames I want to be Hothead!" James sat on the presidents desk moving his hands in wierd styles. After a few seconds a small fireball formed in his hand. He threw it up and down being careful that it didn't set anything ablaze.

 

Nicole stood up and could sence someone saying her name and talking about her. She closed her eyes and focussed, she reopened them and laid her hand over the fire which her arms turned to water and poored down on the fire then hte waterfall stopped and water arm and hand was left that soon lit up and turned back into her arm. She gripped her fist. She finally knew she had to go and get to New York. She walked and came to the highway late at night, about midnight. She walked down the road, and before she knew it she looked in the sky loosing the stars and seeing the bright lights of New York. She also heard sirens and hopped in the woods lining the highway and ducked down watching the cop drive by.

"Well welcome to New York, danger around every corner." She said standing back up. She ran down the road and came to teh first bridge leading into town. There was a pay booth. She hopped into the Hudson River and before anything could be said she disappeared and reappeared on the other shore in New York City. She walked down the buisy city streets. It wasn't as buisy, she saw a few homeless people. She stopped and looked ahead seeing a homeless person cornering a women and her daughter. Nicole stopped and turned.

"Hand over your cash lady, and you daughter won't be leaving this world with a bullet in her kneck." The homeless guy said. She knew it wasn't such a poor homeless dude more as a robber.

"Hey buddy, I wouldn't be doing that if I were you." Nicole spoke out. The guy turned around and shot at Nicole before Nicole caught the bullet right infront of her face. She dropped the bullet.

"Now let them go." Nicole said. "Or else." She said when in her hand a plain energy ball formed. She looked at the robbed who put the gun to the girls kneck.

"Go away you freak, or I'll shoot!" The robber said. The girl and women were terrafied of the robber, but more so at Nicole. Nicole put her hand with out the energy orb in it and the gun pulled on his hand and came to her hand. She dropped it and stepped on it, crushing it.

"What do you plan on shooting now?" Nicole asked perking her eye brow. The man looekd at her and ran away. Nicole stepped out of the way.

"Cops will get him." She said. Sure enough alarms went off for cop cars getting a message about hostage alley robbery. The women and girl looked at Nicole. The girl then stepped forward and walked up to Nicole sticking her hand out.

"Thanks." The girl said before her motehr ran torwards Nicole and smacked her and grabbed her daughter's arm.

"Get away ASR! Jessica never go near and ASR user, they'll kill you the chance they get to." The mother said then ran out of the ally swaying her purse in teh air.

"POLICE, POLICE! There's an ASR user here!" The women yelled running over to them. The girl looked back at Nicole and blinked. Nicole smiled.

"Your welcome." Nicole said, then disappeared. When teh women and police came back, Nicole was gone.

"Where'd it go?" The police asked.

"She disappeared." The girl said. "She's a nice person though mommy." The girl said.

"No ASR user are ever good kiddo." The police officer said.


Nicole was on the roofed crouched down looking down at them. She rolled onto her back and looked up at the sky, it was hard to see the stars. She closed her eyes feeling a tear appear. She didn't like being an ASR user, she didn't ask for it, it made her life terrible. She hated it, she lost her family, was forced to live on the streets and in teh forests, forced to do bad stuff, then lived in a foster home, before being released into the forest again. She regretted going with her good friend, a boy named Jake. She felt her eyes slowly stop. She opened them up. She knew her place now though, it was to live her life the way she'd live it before, live it in nature on a farm if she must, or be a hero. She rather be a hero. She stood up and she closed her eyes and flew up into the air and looked down on the sky. Before she senced another ASR user, she looked to see a boy sitting on a bench. She landed on teh roof of a building near him and looked down on him.

"So your also one?" She called out to him.

 

Nicole sighed and appeared in front of him.

"Calm down, no way am I with thta guy, why would I?" Nicole asked him. She turned around.

"But go ahead and try to kill me, you won't get far though." Nicole ensured him. She turned sharply around putting her hand up the daggers coming to her hand.

"Now then let's talk about your hate for the terrible ole prez." Nicole said. She crossed her arms.

 

Kid pulled out a cigarette and lit on it James's flame and took a drag. "Tastes like sh*t" he said as he blew the smoke at James's face. He dropped the lit cigarette and left a burn in the carpet and pulled out a fresh cigarette and lit it with his favourite lighter. "Hey, you wanna make things interesting?" he asked the group. "First to kill our target gets all the loot. A kind of pot prize if you want." he explained dropping the ashes on the floor.

 

Nicole knew what he was thinking. She looked at the drain near by and smoke began to rise, it became thick. When it cleared Jordan and Nicole were gone. Nicole stood up in the Staue of Liberty Lamp.

"So, are you the one I heard a rumour about?" Nicole asked Jordan. She leaned against teh railing looking over the city.

 

Nicole turned aroudn and looked.

"Well I heard rumour you were looking for ASR users. Well congrats, you found one." Nicole said.

"If you don't need my assitance I need to get to work on trying to reconstruct this city to it's old glory." Nicole said turning around. She jumped over teh railing and was floating in the air. She looked at Jordan. When he yelled stop. She had puzzled look.

"What?" Nicole asked him confused.

 

Nicole cocked her head.

"We have someone listening in." Nicole said. She flew over and laid her finger on his forehead.

"Someone's listening in through you." Nicole said. "For that then I'll tell you only a bit of my name, you can call me N. Someone or something though is defnately saying stuff to you and I can hear it. I can do stuff many other can't do, I have ability over practically over all the other ASR's, but I have 2 weaknesses, 1.) a medicine 2.) other energies." Nicole said.

 

"Your ASR power talks? Snd guess what buddy your not hiding anything by saying now you're going to tell her about me." Nicole said repeating his last line.

"Anyways if it's just that then, the names Nicole, I have ASR powers, except it doesn't talk at all, in fact my ASR practically made me who I am, I'm almost my whole ASR powers I guess." Nicole said rubbing her chin.

"33rd street. Cool, need a ride?" Nicole asked him.
