    Okay guy's here's a story I've began writing, C&C.

    HOUSE OF DREAMS~

    Chapter 1; Arrival

RAIN WASHED AWAY ANY MEMORY OF HER PAST LIFE. KENDRA STARED HYPNOTISED BY THE DROPLETS SMASHING ACROSS THE WINDOW.

KENDRA I DON’T WANT TO MOVE HOUSE” CIARA, KENDRA’S YOUNGER SISTER WHISPERED INTO HER EAR. KENDRA TURNED AND LOOKED SEEING TEARS STREAMING DOWN HER CHEEKS.

WIPING THEM AWAY KENDRA WHISPERED BACK “WE HAVE TO, OUR OLD HOME WAS FLATTENED FOR SOME NEW APARTMENTS AFTER MOM AND DAD DIED.”
“WHERE ARE WE MOVING TO?” CIARA ASKED.

KENDRA HADN’T THOUGHT ABOUT IT BEFORE, IN FACT SHE WASN’T SURE WHERE EXACTLY THEY WERE MOVING TO

“I’M NOT SURE, WHEREVER MR. HENDERSON LIVES I GUESS”
“DON’T WORRY IT IS NOT TOO FAR AWAY AND, I’VE SAID BEFORE, CALL ME KEVIN”.

KENDRA LOOKED FORWARD TO SEE MR. HENDERSON’S CRYSTAL BLUE EYE’S STARING BACK AT HER. IT WASN’T RIGHT LIVING WITH A TEACHER, LET ALONE CALLING HIM BY HIS FIRST NAME. BUT KENDRA WASN’T ONE TO BE RUDE

“MR…. SORRY I MEAN KEVIN.”A HOT FLUSH OF RED CROSSED KENDRA’S FACE “ACTUALLY IT DOESN’T MATTER”. KENDRA FELT STUPID CALLING A TEACHER BY HIS FIRST NAME.

AFTER ANOTHER 15 MINUTES IN THE CAR THEY PULLED INTO A PEBBLE STONE DRIVEWAY LINED WITH FERNS.

“SO YOU TRAVEL OUT ALL THIS WAY TO SCHOOL EVERY MORNING?” KYM ASKED. KYM WAS KENDRA’S OLDER HALF-SISTER, FROM HER MOTHERS FIRST MARRIAGE. KENDRA AND CIARA BOTH THOUGHT THAT KYM WAS THERE TO MAKE THEIR LIFE’S’ AS NIGHTMARISH AS POSSIBLE.

“NOT NORMALLY, I STAY WITH ONE OF MY COLLEGE FRIENDS IN TOWN DURING THE WEEKDAYS.” MR. HENDERSON SCRATCHED HIS STUBBLY CHIN IN THOUGHT AS HE DROVE,

“BUT I GUESS NOW I HAVE YOU GUYS I’M GOING TO HAVE TO “

“NO YOU DON’T! I CAN STAY IN A FRIEND’S HOUSE TOO” KENDRA ANSWERED WAY TOO EAGERLY

MR. HENDERSON LET OUT A SHORT BELLOW THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO RESEMBLE A LAUGH, “YOU HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN THE HOUSE YET”

KENDRA WAS LOOKING AT HIM THROUGH THE MIRROR TRYING TO READ HIS THOUGHTS WHEN A LARGE CHEEKY SMILE CROSSED HIS FACE.

“WE’RE HERE.” HE SAID POINTING WITH HIS BONY INDEX FINGER. KENDRA COULDN’T HELP LET OUT A GASP. THE HOUSE WAS BEAUTIFUL; IT WAS A LARGE, GORGEOUS, OLD GEORGIAN ESTATE HOUSE. THEIR WAS A TOWER WITH TURRETS ON THE ROOF, KENDRA NOTED ITS BASIC POSITION SO SHE COULD FIND IT WHEN SHE EXPLORED THE HOUSE.

“IT’S AMAZING” CIARA SAID HER YOUNG EYES WIDE WITH AWE.

“HOW COULD YOU AFFORD IT? I MEAN WHAT ARE YOU 20? THERE‘S NO WAY YOU COULD‘VE AFFORDED IT” KYM ASKED IN SWEET BUT BITTER WAY.

“I’M ACTUALLY 34.” MR. HENDERSON REPLIED. KENDRA WAS REALLY SURPRISED; MR. HENDERSON DIDN’T LOOK A DAY OVER 20, AT LEAST.

“BUT MY GRANDPARENTS LEFT ME THIS HOUSE IN THEIR WILL” AS HE SAID THIS HE LOOKED TROUBLED.

“ARE YOU OKAY? YOU’RE NOT DRIVING” KYM POINTED OUT.

“OH, SORRY I’M FINE.” HE ASSURED PUTTING THE CAR INTO GEAR AND PULLING IN THE LAST LITTLE STRECH TO THE FRONT DOOR.

“IF YOU GO UP TO THE SECOND FLOOR, YOU CAN TAKE ANY ROOM THAT’S NOT LOCKED.”

“CAN WE HAVE TWO? I LIKE TO USE A SECOND ONE FOR MY WARDROBE”
“YOU DON’T HAVE A WARDROBE!” KENDRA SNEERED, PULLING HER TONGUE.

“I HA--” KYM STARTED BUT WAS CUT SHORT BY MR. HENDERSON
“EACH ROOM HAS A WARDROBE AND AN EN SUITE” HE HAD A BOASTFUL SMILE LIGHTENING HIS FACE.

HE LOOKED AT HIS WATCH, “DINNER WILL BE IN ABOUT AN HOUR. SO HURRY AND FIND YOURSELF A ROOM.”

KENDRA KNEW EXACTLY WHERE SHE WAS GOING TO, GOING TO THE FAR LEFT OF THE HOUSE SHE FOUND WHAT SHE WAS LOOKING FOR. A COBWEBBED SET OF SMALL, ROUND STAIRS. SHE LOOKED AROUND TO MAKE SURE NO ONE WAS WATCHING AND SET HER BACKPACK ON PLACE OF HER SHOULDER AS SHE SET UP THE STAIRS.

AFTER ABOUT THREE MINUTES OF CLIMBING SHE REACHED THE TOP OF THE STAIRS. LEANING ON THE WALL TO CATCH HER BREATH SHE LOOKED AROUND TO FIND THE DOOR. BUT THERE WASN’T ONE.

“WHERE IS IT…?” SHE ASKED PATTING THE WALL IN THE FADED LIGHT THE SHONE THROUGH A STAINED GLASS WINDOW.

“AH!!” SHE SHOUTED PULLING HER HAND AWAY ABRUPTLY. SHE THOUGHT SHE HAD BEEN SHOCKED, BUT SHE REALISED THAT THE NOB OF THE DOOR WAS JUST COLD. SHE PUT HER HAND BACK TO WHERE THE NOB WAS AND TURNED IT. THE DOOR CREAKED OPEN, AND A RUSH OF COOL AIR HIT KENDRA. IT WAS REFRESHINGLY SWEET AND SMELLED LOVELY ASWELL.

THAT’S STRANGE, THE ROOM SEEMS TOO FRIENDLY. I MEAN FROM THE LOOK OF THE STAIRS YOU’D THINK NO ONE WAS HERE IN YEARS. SHE WALKED INTO THE ROOM AND SEARCHED THE WALL FOR A SWITCH. THERE WAS A FEW SECOND DELAY AFTER SHE FLICKED THE SWITCH AND WHEN THE LIGHT HIT THE ROOM.

THE BEAUTY OF THE ROOM MATCHED THE HOUSE’S EXTERIOR. THE WARDROBES AND DRAWERS WHERE BEAUTIFUL, ORNATE SOLID MAHOGANY WITH FORAL PATTERNS ENGRAVED ON THEM.

APART FROM THE WARDROBE AND DOUBLE SET OF DRAWS, THE ONLY OTHER FURNITURE IN THE ROOM WAS A LARGE FOUR POST KING SIZED BED. ON IT LAY A LARGE BOOK, ABOUT A3 IN SIZE.

“THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!” KENDRA SAID LIFTING THE BOOK ONTO HER LAP
    “WHAT’S BEAUTIFUL?” .

KENDRA LOOKED UP TO SEE WHO WAS THERE, TO SEE KYM LEANING ON THE DOORFRAME ARMS CROSSED.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? GO AWAY.” KENDRA SAID GLANCING OUT THE WINDOW.

“I’M JUST HERE TO SAY DINNER’S READY, KEV SENT ME”
“WHATEVER. I‘M NOT HUNGRY” KENDRA SAID. LOOKING DOWN AT THE BOOK.

“WHAT IS IT A NEW THING FOR NERDS NOT TO EAT?” KYM SNERRED

“SHUT UP!” KENDRA SHOUTED FLINGING HER PILLOW AT KYM BUT MISSING AND KNOCKING A VASE OFF THE DRAWS.

“HAHA!” KYM SAID ALREADY MAKING HER WAY DOWN THE STAIRS “YOU’VE BEEN HERE A MINUTE AN YOU’RE ALREADY CAUSING TROUBLE.”

KENDRA HATED KYM SO MUCH. SHE WOULD MAKE FUN OF HER WEIGHT, THEN WHEN KENDRA TRIED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT SHE WOULD SNEER MORE.
KENDRA SET THE BOOK ON HER PILLOW SO SHE COULD READ IT LATER. AFTER UNPACKING HER THINGS KENDRA DECIDED TO MAKE HER WAY DOWNSTAIRS. SHE WOULD AT LEAST TRY TO BE POLITE.

AFTER OPENING 4 WRONG DOORS, ONE BEING MR. HENDERSON’S BEDROOM SHE FOUND THE DOOR TO THE SITTING ROOM WHERE MR. HENDERSON WAS WATCHING A REALITY T.V. PROGRAMME WITH CIARA.

AS SHE BEGAN TO WALK IN THE ROOM, MR. HENDERSON TURNED AROUND AND GAVE HER A SMILE AND PATTED THE SPACE ON THE SOFA BETWEEN HIM AND CIARA. KENDRA JUST GLANCED AND HIM AND SAT ON AN OLD ROCKING CHAIR IN THE CORNER OF THE ROOM.

“KYM TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED” HE SAID TURNING BACK AND LOOKING AT THE T.V.

“I’M SORRY!” KENDRA SAID QUICKLY BOWING HER HEAD INTO HER LAP.

“DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT.” HE CHUCKLED “NO ONE HAS BEEN IN THAT ROOM IN YEARS. I THOUGHT IT WAS LOCKED.” KENDRA’S SUSPISION WAS IMMEDIATELY ARROUSED. DID THE ROOM REALLY OPEN ITSELF TO WELCOME HER?

“BUT ABOUT THE VASE-” MR. HENDERSON STARTED, DISRUPTING KENDRA’S CHAIN OF THOUGHT.

    KENDRA’S CHEEKS WENT BRIGHT RED.

MR.HENDERSON CAUGHT SIGHT OF THIS AND BEGAN CHUCKLING AGAIN. “-DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. THIS IS YOUR HOUSE ASWELL NOW. REMEMBER THAT. YOU’RE WELCOME TO ANYTHING HERE. BREAK AS MANY VASES AS YOU LIKE”

KENDRA COULDN’T HELP SMILE BACK AT MR. HENDERSON, SOMETHING ABOUT HIM WAS JUST… NICE.

KENDRA THEN LOOKED AT CIARA, SEEING THE MISCHIEF IN HER EYES SHE DECIDED TO TRY AND PREVENT ANY FUTURE INCIDENT

“THAT DOESN’T APPLY TO YOU. YOU’RE RESTRICTED TO THE SAME LIMITS AS BEFORE

“HAHAHA!” MR. HENDERSON SAID PATTING HIS KNEE’S AND STANDING UP AND LEAVING THE ROOM.

CIARA GOT UP AND WALKED OVER TO KENDRA SITTING ON HER LAP.
“I LOVE IT HERE. KEVIN IS REALLY NICE, AND MY ROOM IS HUGE! IT’S LIKE BIGGER THAN OUR ROOM BACK HOME.”

HEARING THIS KENDRA COULDN’T HELP BUT FEEL BITTER. THIS WASN’T THEIR HOUSE, NOTHING COULD REPLACE THEIR HOUSE. IT’S WHERE THEY GREW UP. BORN AND RAISED WITH THEIR REAL PARENTS. BUT SHE HAD TO BUT ON A FAÇADE FOR CIARA. SHE HAD TO BE STRONG ENOUGH FOR BOTH OF THEM.
“YOU’LL HAVE TO SHOW IT TO ME SOMETIME.” KENDRA SAID, FORCEING A SMILE

“I’LL SHOW IT TO YOU NOW!” SHE SAID EGARLY JUMPING OFF KENDRA’S LAP AND GRABING HER ARM, JUST AS MR. HENDERSON WALKED BACK INTO THE ROOM WITH A TRAY OF FOOD.

“CIARA TOLD ME YOU WERE VEGITARIAN” HE SAID, HANDING HER A TRAY OF DELICIOUS LOOKING FOOD. IT LOOKED MUCH NICER THEN THE SLOB THE CARE WORKER SPOONED ONTO HER PLATE EVERY NIGHT.

“THANKS” SHE SAID TAKING THE TRAY AND PUTTING IT ON HER LAP. “IT LOOKS LOVELY”

“GLAD YOU THINK SO” HE SMILED “BUT I’M NOT MUCH OF A COOK SO IM NOT CERTAIN OF HOW LOVELY IT WILL TASTE.

KENDRA FORKED ABIT OF THE FOOD INTO HER MOUTH AND BEGAN CHEWING.THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. POSSIBLY THE NICEST THING SHE HAD EVER EATEN.

“IT GORGEOUS!” SHE EXCLAIMED TAKING ANOTHER FORKFULL “YOUR TO MODEST”. KENDRA HAD SWALLOWED BUT FELT TERRIBLE. SHE HAD JUST TEASED A TEACHER. HER FACE WENT BRIGHT RED AND SHE BEGAN FORKING HER FOOD.

“IT MUSTN’T BE THAT GREAT, YOU HAVEN’T HAD A BITE IN FIVE MINUTES” HE SAID TURNING TO HER DURING ONE OF THE ADD BREAKS.

AS IF READING HER MIND HE SMILED AND SAID “I KNOW I’M NOT YOUR PARENT, BUT HERE I’M NOT YOUR TEACHER EITHER. YOU SHOULD FEEL FREE TO BE YOURSELF”

THE LAST FEW WORDS HE SAID REALLY GOT TO KENDRA. SHE WASN’T SURE WHO EXACTLY SHE WAS. AFTER THEIR PARENTS DEATH FOUR MONTHS PREVIOUSLY, SHE HAD HAD TO PUT ON SO MANY MASK’S TO PROTECT HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT SHE WASN’T SURE WHO SHE WAS ANYMORE.
“AFTER TEN MINUTES OF FORKING HER FOOD INTO DIFFERENT SHAPES SHE GAVE UP AND EXCUSED HERSELF. SHE KNEW SHE WASN’T GOING TO EAT ANYMORE.

SHE HEADED UP TO HER ROOM, HAPPY WHEN SHE FOUND THAT HER ROOM WAS JUST HOW SHE LEFT IT.

SHE SAT ON HER BED AND LIFTED UP THE LARGE ORNATE BOOK. RESTING IT ON HER LAP SHE OPENED THE BOOK TO FIND ALL THE PAGES BLANK
“WHAT?” SHE ASKED CONFUSED. SHE WAS AT THE END OF THE BOOK AND FOUND NOTHING. NO PICTURES, WORDS. NOTHING. HAVING ONE LAST FLICK THROUGH AND FINDING NOTHING KENDRA WAS ABOUT TO CLOSE THE BOOK WHEN SHE NOTICED SOMETHING SHE HAD NOT SEEM BEFORE. ON THE OPENING PAGE, IN FADED PECIL WAS WRITTEN

‘HERE LIES THE HOUSE OF DREAMS’.

HOUSE OF DREAM’S? THOUGHT KENDRA. SHE SAT ON HER BED THINKING FOR AWHILE. AFTER AWHILE HER EYES BEGAN TO DROOP. SHE PULLED OUT HER MOBILE AND CHECKED THE TIME ‘02:23’. Her eyes fluttered closed as she fell asleep.

    Chapter 2- The dream

Kendra woke up with a jolt, her surroundings where unfamiliar.
What’s happened? She quickly jostled in her mind thinking of where Ciara was and if she was okay, when the situation dawned on her. She felt uncomfortable in the unfamiliar house, and didn’t want to be there. But Mr. Henderson had been so kind, and she couldn’t just leave? Where else had she to go? She sat up and wiped the crust from her eyes, and looked at the time on her phone.

13:50… She had slept in, luckily it was the mid-term. At least that’s one stress I won’t have to worry about. She thought sadistically to herself. She pulled on a faded jade coloured tank-top and a pair of half-thigh denim shorts and to finish it off she slipped on her Uggs.

Heading downstairs, on the bottom corridor she found a door with her name on it. Peeking in she saw it was a bathroom.

“I guess I was unlucky enough to get the only off-suite bathroom”, She mumbled, for some reason today she was feeling particularly pessimistic. She walked into the surprisingly large bathroom, with a separate bath and shower. She walked to the large mirror above the sink and examined herself. Her once brilliant blue eyes had faded into a yucky gray colour, her roots of her bleached blonde hair were going brown and to top off she had a huge pimple just under her lower lip. She cussed gently to herself as a burst of pain moved up her face as she tried to squeeze it.

After applying some of her mother’s designer makeup Kendra claimed after… The accident. Kendra headed into the kitchen, but found no one. She then went into the living room she was in the previous night. And again…. No one?

“Where are they?” She asked walking down the bottom hallway, which was lined with roof-high bookshelves all packed to bursting point.

I know what I’m doing this mid-term she mused to herself, reading was her favorite hobby. Suddenly a crash of sound sent her out of her skin.

“What the heck was that?” She asked rhetorically, when she copped on.
“The doorbell.” She said clicking her fingers and turning around to go to the front door. When whoever was there opened it and let them self in.

“Kev it’s just me!” A young male’s voice called out. From the slight sound of deepness in the voice, Kendra guessed the boy was her age.

“Kevin’s not here.” She called out to him, turning the last corner seeing she was right. There was a boy about her age leaning halfway through the doorway. He had copper-red hair and deep brown eyes.

Kendra blinked to get a second look at the boy. But when she opened her eye’s he was gone.

Kendra jolted up, her eye’s flew open. A dream? She was still in bed, surrounded with a cold sweat.

“Morning Kendra.” Mr. Henderson said. He was standing just in the doorway with a tray of breakfast in his hands. She couldn’t help but blush, and the embarrassment rose when she realised Kevin abruptly looked down. That’s right, last night she couldn’t find her pyjamas. She slept in her underwear. Pulling the blanket up over her shoulders, she accepted the tray of food, she watched Kevin leave the room and she began to eat. She knew she would need her energy for the day the lay ahead.

    Chapter 3- Hunger

Kendra had a strange sense of de ja vu, whilst sitting at the breakfast table. Unfortunately her dream that morning had become a blur. She could only remember bits and pieces. Her routine in the morning was the same as her dream.

“So what do you think?” Ciara asked bobbing up and down on her backwards chair. Her green’s eye glowing.

“Sorry Ciara I zoned out.” Kendra felt her mind drift off to the boy again when she shook her head and continued. “What where you saying?”

“I was asking if you wanted to come outside and explore with me, the garden’s huge!” Ciara put a great deal of emphasis on the last word.

“Okay you little monster.” Kendra said standing up and playfully swatting her sister on the back of her head. “But first I just want to get my room in order.” She began to walk out the room giving the glum looking Ciara a wink.

Kendra was halfway up the stairs when she felt something grip her leg. She wasn’t worried though, this feeling was very familiar to her. Absent minded she patted Ciara on the head and continued up the stairs. There was a pleasant silence as the two girls were finished the flight of stairs, but of course with Ciara that didn’t last long.

“I thought I’d come with you encase you got lonely.” She said and skipped ahead, opening Kendra’s bedroom door.

A proud smile crossed Kendra’s lips at the impressed gasp Ciara let out. What did they call it? Home pride? House proud? Kendra thought to herself walking into the room.

The truth was she didn’t need to organise anything. Her room was perfectly tidy and in order, thanks to Mr. Henderson. He must have done it while she was asleep.

No, the truth was she wanted to figure out the book, she glanced at her bedside table making sure it was still there. As if pulled by a magnet Kendra found she was standing right next to Ciara who was examining a bottle of Chanel perfume. Ciara lifted the bottle and examined the top and bottom, and sniffed the squirter.

“Smell’s nice!” She said aiming to spray some on her wrist. But the squirted was backwards, and a stream of the perfume hit Ciara in the face.

Kendra wasn’t sure who giggled first, but within a few second both girls where full out bottom-belly laughing. After the laughter had passed and Ciara continued trying on every scent and makeup item on the vanity table –of course being more careful- Kendra went and sat on her bed lifting the book on her lap. Opening the words ‘Here lies the house of dreams’ where still there. But with two additions

“find the boy” and “Hunger for knowledge”.

The words… The sentences’ confused Kendra. She examined them for another 20 minutes and then realised something. The book was just that A book! In fact it was a story book. The two new sentences where in random places on the page. But the one from last night was slightly bolder, and in Italics. Kendra’s vision went funny. She blinked a few times and looked at the page again. This time the title read,

Chapter 1; Here lies the house of dreams
