The Way To Dusk

Semnax nodded, "Jasmine, we were attacked by those keyblade spirit guys and you and Alice were nearly killed by them. Adam tried to fight them but he was badly injured. Will and I were able to fight them until they left." Semnax did'nt like lying to Jasmine but he had to.

 

Will nodded, looking away from Jasmine. She could see it in his eyes when he was lying. He hated it, she reminded him so much of Sara. It hurt him when he looked at her. It stung so much he would wander the streets at all hours crying away the pain and getting into fights.

 

Will pointed to Adam and the unconsious Alice whom Adam had healed. Will strode over and healed what Adam missed, making sure she was fine. "She needs sleep." His hoarse voice croaked.

 

Semnax nodded, "See baby, I take care of our babies." He kissed her and then he saw the pain in Will's eyes. Something inside of Semnax was making him feel joy over Will's sadness, how could he possibly enjoy seeing his friend hurt? Semnax moved that feeling away and let go of Jasmine. He walked over and put his hand on Will's shoulder, "Hey, you o'k?" He asked.

 

Will swallowed and nodded. "Yeah, just thinking of my past." He said. "Won't happen again sir." He said, saluting and wiping his tears away.

 

Semnax took Will's hand and moved it to his side, "Don't salute me. Your my friend now, you can tell me anything and you don't have to be afraid to do so." Semnax smiled and a tear of happiness fell from his left eye.

 

Will shook his head and stared at the snow, painful memories flooding his head. "Your a lucky man. She looks alot like the girl I once loved." He muttered.

 

Semnax looked sad, tears were in his eyes. "Will.....do you love my daughter." He whispered as he pointed to Alice.

 

Will smiled slightly. "No, I meant your wife looked like her... Alice does too. It's painful being here but I have to." He said, wiping tears away.

 

"I know you meant my wife but I mean do you love my daughter? You seem to be protective of her." Semnax smiled. He did'nt mind, as long as Will took care of her.

 

Will's jaw was set and he smiled slightly. "I've taken care of her for four years. Of course I care for her but I don't let emotions get in the way of the mission." He said.

 

Semnax saw that his family was fine at the moment so he took Will for a walk, "Will, your a good guy but you need to remember that your human. You can feel love for someone other than Sara." Semnax smiled at Will.

 

Will nodded. "I know but it's hard. That's why all those late nights." He said said, remembering all the drunken fights and waking in the streets bloody.

 

Semnax handed him a key and smiled, "You don't have to thank me but you live in my castle now. This is the key to your own room. Your family now." Semnax hugged him like a brother.

 

Will smiled and laughed, handing him back the key. "I've always had a room, I just never used it." He said, pulling out a key that was for a room in the servant's quarters.

 

"Will, your not a servant. None of the people who work in the palace are servants. They were people who had no money and needed a job, so I gave them one. I'm not a cruel king. I just want peace."

 

Will shrugged. "And I'm not a fancy person." He said, grinning and spinning the keyblade behind his back. It was true, he liked to travel and live off the land.

 

Semnax smiled and nodded, "I'm not really one for palace life myself. I prefer to be out there with people. All of us do I beleive." Semnax asked his keyblade to leave and take a rest and it did so.

 

Will dropped himself into the snow, letting it's cold embrace clean him of sweat. "I like the palace but I prefer adventure. I go in the palace when Jasmine asks me to, that's about it." He said, grabbing a snowball and chewing on it.
