Zoids, Anyone?

So I've got some ideas for possible Zoid RPs floating around in my little head. Just wondering if there's any interest for it here.

 

It would work just as any other RP would. There would be a lot of behind the scenes sort of stuff though, depending on which one I decide to try.

 

Well, it'd probably be based off of the New Century series, as that's the one that I have the best grip on with which to create an RP, and in my opinion, it was far too short lived for the fact that it was pretty good of a series.

Also, people would just have to be a little more willing to take hits. Other than that, it's no different from any other RP in terms of likelihood of god modes.

 

Well, from what I can tell, nothing lasts very long on this site as it is, unless the person who made it is REALLY popular amongst people. And from what I've seen, there's only one person of late whose RPS have actually been surviving to some extent.

I believe a part of the problem is too much action, and not enough build up between it. There's always people jumping their characters into battle right from the get go. Maybe if things like that could be held off until the RP has about 5-10 pages under its belt, things would stay interesting. Personally, I get rather tired of RPs where the characters do nothing but fight off droves of enemies.

 

Well, I've got a few different ideas for the RP:

1. "Stepping Up" - Continues off of the New Century continuum, with The Blitz Team competing in the Class S ranks.

2. "Age of Fire" - An alternate universe of New Century, in which The Backdraft Group was successful in their bid to disestablish the Zoid Battle Commission at The Royal Cup.

3. Then, there's just going through a Zoid RP that is generally unconnected to the events of the main series. It will likely follow a similar flow to New Century, but will follow entirely original teams.

 

Well, New Century stands well enough on its own without the other series. And there are only 22 (I believe) episodes of the show under that part of the series. It would be pretty easy to watch through 22 episodes of a show, once you found a good site to watch them from.

I mean, depending on how many episodes per day a person could squeeze in between their important commitments IRL, and on the forums, they could be capable of participating in something canon to New Century.

 

Who says I can't get an rp over? The Academy could have concluded is people had gotten back into it the way they get back into other slow moving rps.

 

Strictly speaking, every character should at least start out as a main character. But yeah, he does tend to place his characters in roles of super importance above most others in the RP. But we're not here to talk about SB.

It will be private, in a sense. I've decided that it's high time that I started holding a standard for the RPs that I make. I've been letting my personal bar slip from where I usually try to place it. Instead of just signing up, there will be 'auditions' held, so that only the best of the sign-ups actually get spots.

As for the running of the RP, I figure that if we're going to do 1 or 3, we'd need to have it be team styled. So We'd either need to all play entire teams, or otherwise, hope that four more people are interested, and have two players playing each team (so basically, we'd each be controlling one or two characters with one other person controlling their own one or two characters).

 

That's as many as I would hold anyone to. Even if we did things in pairings it would be good.
