Why do they change how kingdom hearts is played in every game? couldnt they just continue with kh1s spells but just add drive forms and reaction commands? like in kh re:chain of memories, the card play can be very frustrating but it can finnish a battle super quickly? why did they change it?

They're going to want to keep the franchise going as long as they can, and if they don't change anything, the formula will get stale and people will lose interest. Though I too thought the cards in COM were a huge pain and wish they hadn't decided to go that route.

The cards didn't bother me too much. But it is better for them to add things to the battle system. Personally I find BBS's battle system to be the best form yet.

i totally age with bbs but how did they come up with the card system in com in the first place? i know its too keep the franchise alive but how did the get the idea in the first place? couldnt they just make magic and press some buttons to make summons apear but to only make combos?

I hated the cards with a passion.

I haven't played BBS yet, though I really want to, but out of the ones I have played, I liked KH 2's battle system the best.
Though, they shouldn't depend on the triangle as they did.
It should be for those really be more rare, and at more epic points.

Also, 358 was not as annoying as COM, but up there.
I didn't much like it either.
The whole system was just annoying to deal with.

I personally enjoyed all of the systems, COM and 358 included. They make you rethink tactics, and ensure that button mashing isn't gonna be the way to go. Kh1 and Kh2 were more berserker formulated with the difference being that in 2 you can use drive forms so they could make bosses even harder. Kh1 relied more on jumping, rolling, and spell casting to get you through the fights. All systems were epic. Cant wait to see BBS's

I rather enjoyed all the battle systems, even the Cards and 358's. BBS's is by far the best battle system, and I also like how they sometimes change how leveling up works, like in 358 and Re:Coded, it makes me feel in control. Though for KH3 I hope they keep the leveling up process simple.

I found 358/2 Days System alright, but the DS just need another D-pad/Analog Stick, or something to either move the camera around, or go through the in-game menu. (It also doesn't help when you are in the middle of bosses, also not to mention all of Days's bosses are made for two-player, which of course story mode doesn't allow) I found Birth By Sleep's to work really well, COM was fine with me, but became annoying during boss fights and such. *CoughRikufourcough* I prefer 2's the most, only if it depended on the triangle less would I love it. (I also like it because it's really the only one that you can get the camera where you want, when you want.)

They do it for multiple reasons...

1.) To keep people interested and on their toes. If it was the same system over and over, some people would master it then get bored so they make it new everytime.
2.) Different development teams prefer different stuff. None of the games have the same development team except I believe 358/2,CoM, and Coded are the same team and BBS is the same team for 3D

Personally I hated both CoM and 358/2 Days battle system. By the looks of Coded, I'm not liking that system either. I really like the battle system in KH2 and BBS a whole lot.

i was checking out kh coded and apparently the battle system was going to be like bbs and i can tell because if u look closely at the previews then uu will see on the bottom left that it has the same battle menu as bbs. i was always also so surprised that for every system (except for gba) that they all had the same graphics as the ps2 and those were preety good to begin with

I liked that too, but sometimes I liked a certain combo, but the keyblade wasn't strong enough.

I feel odd for saying that I loved CoM's card system. Almost everyone else says they hate it but I actually kinda enjoyed it. BBS I felt like was the best MINUS the fact that because BBS has the lowest loading speed of any game ever, everytime I would go into one of those forms or whatever the battle had to stop for like 10 seconds every few minutes which made me want to hurl my PSP out the window. But yeah if it was faster I think I would call BBS my favorite.

My problems with the systems were with 1 and 2 I had gotten really good at exploiting fire and special attacks to make large combos, especially in 2 because I could do a large combo, shoot some magic, pull another combo, then go into a drive form to make larger combos. That was my problem with COM because I couldn't really get the hang of it to make the combos very fast because of the way I had built my deck. Now 358/2 was the real button masher for me because I didn't find out about the l&R menu toggle until the end of the game so I just mashed attack and hoped for the best lol.

That's why they have the Data Install option.

I loved CoM's card system too. It was different, and I really liked how you could combine three cards to make a combo attack. Also I thought it added a bit more difficulty when battling against the bosses. Plus, it was my goal to get as many summon cards as possible >.<

KH and KHII had my favourite battle systems, mainly because they are relatively the same. They were very basic and simple (I never used Sora's different forms often in KHII) so basically all I did was attack with the keyblade and use cure when needed. Also, I think I prefer them because they were the first two that I played, therefore, I generally got used to them.

Same here! I think 358/2 Days was just one of those games, I personally was hoping at the end that I could beat the final boss with no strategy at all; which did work.

nevertheless, 358/2 Days was a good game, at least in my opinion.

    CoM= GBA
GBA= Completely different hardware capabilities from PS2
Completely different hardware capabilities from PS2 = New gameplay to work with the limitations at hand.

    That is all.

    And I LIKED CoM.

I think CoM is under-appreciated, I liked it.
