The streets run red with blood. its 2 AM a gleeming pair of glowing eyes can be seen from the dary abyss of the alley ways. " Its only a matter of time....." a voice says from beyond the darkness. Miles away in Central park a loud explosion takes place a misty ooze bled from the rocks.

    Let The WAR Begin...

It was 2 am in the morning. The young man should have been asleep, but his "friend always kept him up". The young man walked through the streets, claded in some strange armor. He clenched his fists and readied for anything. Be it shadows, rogue symbiotes, muggers. He examined the streets and allyways, searching for anything strange.

"Alright then, I don't see anything..." the boy said,

Trust me there should be something here...

"Can we go home? I need to get back to studying... I *yawn* big test coming up... I know I'm suppose to help protect the city from these shadows you spoke of... But I'm still a student... Not Spiderman..."

    Keep looking.

    "Gasp!

The body of Elysia Concord shot upright in her bed, struggling to catch her breath. A dream? she thought, though uncertain about it herself. Her first waking sense was that of sound; she could here was sounded a lot like the rumbling remnants of a boom of thunder lingering in the air outside of her room. She looked over to her alarm clock and read the numbers: "2:00." She slumped her head down. "Guess it wasn't a dream. At least not to boom."

It wasn't thunder either, said a voice in her head.

Not now Val, Elysia thought back to "the man in her head." It's bad enough that your showing me all l these visions while I'm asleep. You don't have to go making things out to be bad. As far as I'm concerned, it was thunder.

It wasn't thunder, Val persisted. You should go investigate. It came from the park. I have a bad feeling about it. Remember what I've been telling you about?

Elysia's thoughts suddenly stopped speaking back to Val. He had told her about a lot of things since she first met him. But somehow, her mind came to the conclusion that it had something to do with the Shadows that Val and his species had been at war with for what sounded like eons. So you think it might be them?

Either them, or more of my kind, said Val. In either case, we should get to Central Park before the police show up. Considering his close we are to it, we'll get there well before them if we leave now.

Way ahead of you Val, Elysia mused. She was already throwing on her street clothes. A pair of blue jeans, tennis shoes and and a hoodie were on her within less than a minute and she was out the door in another thirty seconds, quietly exiting her house without drawing attention to herself, and headed towards the heart of Central Park.

    -----Earlier that Day-----

A lone individual was sitting at the top of one of New York's many skyscrapers. He was sitting on the edge of the building, appearing to be completely unaware of the certain death that would naturally befall him if he were to fall off. He was fiddling with some device that he wore on his arms. He loaded a cartridge into each device, slipped on a glove over each hand, and pointed out towards the horizon. A web shot from each device, gently soaring down into the chaos that was the streets of New York. This person stood up and put on a mask that fully covered his head and walked towards the center of the rooftop.

There he was, fully clothed in his costume as the sun was beginning to set. This person, known only as Spider Man, took off in a full sprint and jumped off the building into the heart of New York.

    -----Later that Night-----

It frustrated him when he thought about it. Whatever spare time he had was dedicated to being a vigilante. There were many times he had to put on the costume when he was already preoccupied with other things. New York was a gigantic city. It was impossible for him to prevent every crime that occurred. Criminals feared him, which did help suppress the amount of crimes such as mugging or rape. But the city was still large enough for criminals to weigh the risks of being caught by Spider Man. Being Spider Man was a full time job. There was no time for romance. No time to pursue any sort of social life. He had no idea how the original Spider Man managed to balance being Spider Man and having a family. As much as he hated this notion that he could not have everything his way, he would not dispose of the mask. With great power comes great responsibility after all. The day he decides to quit being Spider Man is the day somebody important to him, whether they be friend or family, will be seriously injured due to something he could've stopped.

And so, wrapped up in these thoughts, the man prepared to call it a night, attempt to get some sleep so he could function the next day. But as he swung throughout the streets towards the place he called home he heard it. The loud explosion that came from Central Park. With his next swing Spider Man shot out a web to adjust his path and head towards the source of the explosion.

    What...

"Whoops... Hehehe, not you," Zeke nervously chuckled. He transformed his right arm into organic cannon and readied for anything as he reached ever so closer to the crash site.
