"Damn!" the general said silently as he watched the last code disappear as if it was never there. He looked around at the people with him in the cyber space half of the Administrator national home space "I want to know who those clowns were, where they are going next, and who created them!" he said as he briskly walked back toward the data base that would take him back to the real world.
It took only seconds for the main head hacker to report "Sir, we found little about them. I've not seen coding this complicated since we created our security files." he said, looking very frustrated.
None looked more angry and frustrated then the general himself though "Nothing? No IP address, Home ID, anything they said to one another during their attack here?"
The reporter just kept shaking his head or searching franticly through his files only to come up short of an answer "Everything was erased. Its just gone! I cant even find it in the ghost files. I couldn't even see if half of them were human or virus."
General O'Shey looked like he wanted to slap the reporter upside the head for being so compleletly oblivious but he got control of himself "Can you at least find out their site history?"
Looking pleased to finally be helpful, the reporter nodded "Their first site was a site called V-tunnel..." O'Shey nodded and waved his hand for silence "Yes, yes. We descovered them and thought we shut them down. I want to know how they found this base and where they went after Agent Gerik managed to unravel the coding of their leader."
"Um... actually Gerik ALMOST did. See, they got away before Gerik could find out anything important or delete the user."
"Damn." the general muttered again under his breath as the Reporter continued speaking "I think we can find out where they're going next though with the help of the data Gerik gathered."
The general nodded and looked at a blonde woman who was behind him, apparently his assistant "Find Agents Gerik and Hotaru." he said "Tell them I need to speak with them in my office immediately. And Christensen-"
The reporter looked up from his work as his name was said "You're comming too."
"-Sir!" he began to protest "I cant access any of my work from your office."
    "Nevermind that. Just hurry."
The blonde woman ran off to find Gerik and Hotaru while the general and the hacker/reporter hovered over his computer, trying to sort out government from virus codes. "Whoever these people are, they did a good job of making a mess before they left. It will take forever to clean all the files out."

Ok, the next post is pretty self explanitory. Next post starts the real story.

A white-haired man with wings was standing in a hallway that looked like this: [IMG]

He was messing with something on the wall. "Bloody viruses. Making me continually work overtime to repair the damage done." A little floating robot came up to the man. "Gerik, sir. This sector has been repaired to 100%"

"Good." Gerik answered. "Where to next?"

"The General's office." The robot answered.

"Of course. Guy can't seem to do anything against these viruses without my help. I'm guessing he sent somebody to get me?"

    "Yes."

"Okay. I'll wait for her to find me. Procrastinate a bit."

    "As usual sir?"

    "I don't procrastinate that much."

    "If you say so, sir."

"Sir, might I interest you in some new computer models? Or you ma'am! I'm sure you want to be aware of how to protect you and your family from Hackers and virus', right? Well gather around, gather around! The Onion Press Mess is open for business today! We have information anyone could possibly want, and if we don't, why then we'll go out and get it!" In his child avatar, Charon began advertising his usual information business. These days no one really trusted the information that came out of news industries. The real information came from people like him. Information distributors who got paid credits for their information. Especially if it was reliable. One thing he prided himself on was his information gathering abilities. He wasn't the best, but he was good. Mainly because he could get that information even if his "suppliers" didn't know it.

Oh yeah. The information business was a good gig for him.

The room was dark save for a small floating square that was glowing. Occasionally a small flicker of white text would run the course of a wall or the floor but otherwise the room was bare. Standing and watching the square was a young man with white hair tinted a slight blue, his maroon clothes hardly noticable in the dark room. "They nearly had me. Heh, nearly." Tervin spoke with a cynical tone. He had just finished a field test of his latest version to his virus. The admins were getting smarter and responding faster, but he still managed to get the info he wanted before they arrived. Tervin held up his white sword and waved it below the square, which was broadcasting a live feed of what was going on in the area he had just attacked. As he waved his sword, a transparent keyboard came into being. He began typing at a furious pace as another screen popped up to show what he was typing. A third popped up as he finished. "So they managed to repair the area but not the files. Alright then. Looks like my virus needs a new upgrade." Tervin began typing while muttering things under his breath. "search... security... admins... visits... servers... enter." Twp of the screens closed as a new one opened showing a list of multiple online forums. As he scrolled through the list he cast a few looks at the camera feed to make sure the admins hadn't left the area. "Ah, this one shows promise." Tervin had opened up a page about a forum called Kingdom Hearts Planet. "Low security, little moderation, lots of users. Perfect." Tervin closed all the pages as a white circle opened on the floor behind him. Time I join a new forum. Tervin's body seemed to shimmer for a moment. When it stopped he looked different. He was wearing casual clothes and seemed like a normal person. He grinned and walked onto the circle. It glowed before it and Tervin vanished, leaving the room as blank as it was before.

"LOLZORZ DID J00 S33 DAT GAI/? hE WAS ALL LIEK b00m! wHAT A NOOB!" An annoying spammer posted in the Overhang* for an Arena. A boy in a moogle costume appeared by the n00b, and asked "I'm sorry sir, but if you do not cease to SHUT THE HELL UP and actually post character data for an entry, then I'm afraid you'll have to leave."
    "0YEA??! J00 AN WHUT AREMY?"
"The army of. . . MOOGLEREJECTLASER, kupo!" The cute boy turned into a moogle, switching from average user to mod, and fired an electric laser at the n00b. The spammer then exploded in a cloud of shiny dust and the moogle reverted. He then announced, "Takin' care of business!" and headed back to his room in the Staff lounge to supervise the RP area with hidden surveilance bots.

*For the RPs in this world, there is the Overhang - The "OOC area", if you will. This is like a cross between a spectator's box-seats and a help booth. There tends to be a large, wide window overlooking the RP from above in this room, hence, "Overhang."

"Hows he doing?" Hotaru asked as she hovered over the base's doctors latest patient, a middle aged man who was once one of Hotaru's partners. She never got along with him but she was curious anyway. He had been here ever since the virus attack.
Doctor Brown, a female woman in her thirties and one of the best medics in history, shook her head "Hasn't responded to anything, not even his wife's voice. Usually when you get hurt in the cyber world you're just fine when you come out again... I dont understand. Its like he is back where he's supposed to be but his physical harm in the cyber world was mental harm in the real world. He's..."
Hotaru had to give Dr. Brown a strange look for her to finish her sentence.
    "...Gone." Dr. Brown finally sighed.

Hotaru looked a bit disgusted as she looked again at the fallen man "Thats not-" she interruped herself with a gasp "-What the-!?" she exclaimed as the monitor next to the bed showed readings of a flat lined heart rate and the unconcious man's breath began picking up at an alarming rate. He was hyperventalating.

Doctor Brown ran forward and shoved Hotaru out of the way as she was immediately yelling orders at the nurses around her. Realizing she was in the way, Hotaru slowly backed out.

She just got the door closed when she heard a voice behind her "Hotaru! There you are. The General needs you in his office imm-"

The alarm loudly cut off the rest of the word. Red lights turned on on the walls, sounding off the alerts that something was wrong. Hotaru didn't turn to see who had called her. She was in the General's office immediately as she saw Christensen and the General hovering over the computers at the walls. "Whats going on?" Hotaru demanded.

The Admin hacker looked at Hotaru, speachless "We thought they were gone!" he stuttered "But they got back into our files."

Hotaru cursed under her breath and turned on her heal, running toward the Cyber entryway She heard the general call that they would send her partner to help her and she rolled her eyes, 'I can handle one virus on my own' she thought a bit annoyed. She needed to get directly to the files to see what they were hacking and possibly put a stop to whoever was doing it. She was in the hall of records, a very large hall similar to the one shown in Desert Warrior's post, just in time to see their hacker disappear. Hotaru knew it was too late to stop him but she could at least figure out where he had been. (Her Administrator Form at this point)

She stepped forward and raised her hand and a transparent keyboard appeared in front of her. She walked past the keyboard toward the windows that were just beyond it.

She frowned "Forums? He had access to any government file and he went for Chatrooms, dating sites, and forums?" she said, puzzled "Who is this guy anyway?"

"Sir. You really need to get to the general. Hotaru has already beaten you there. That's the thirteenth time this month."

    "Yeah... And?"

"You're gonna be docked your pay again. And maybe even suspended."

"The pay... I don't mind too much. I don't have anybody to support but myself. And as for the suspension... They wouldn't do that to me right now. Not with the increase of viruses that has been going on."

The little robot turned red. "Administrator Gerik is at this location General." The robot echoed out.

That made Gerik a little irritated. He took out his sword and cut the robot in half. "That thing talked too much anyways."

"Hmmm..." Hotaru said as, with a slight gesture of her hand, the windows that the Virus had been looking for shrank and flew to the information chip located in Hotaru's sleave. She realized she would need them later. Besides he had really tried hard to conceal his previous search history. She didn't know which one had been his location. She would have to hack into it later when she had more time.

A transparent figure of General Howe appeared next to Hotaru, already on edge, Hotaru jumped a little when he spoke "Damn these hackers. Did you at least catch his trail."

"Three. I just need to figure out which door he went through." she said as she began to walk away "Excuse me General Howe. I have work to do." a white circle appeared under her feet and her form began to dim.

"At least find Gerik and let him know whats going on before you run off and get yourself into trouble again!" the general called after her.

Hotaru seriously considered ignoring the general's request. She didn't have anything against her partner. In all honesty she had only been assigned to work with him yesterday she hadn't even had much chance to talk to him. She just didn't have good experiences with past partners. Actually she had specifically requested either find a partner who could keep up or just let her fly solo and she didn't really have time to go ask permission or babysit a partner on ever case she got assigned to. She hesitated but then with a sigh she changed directions, trying to locate Gerik in the Cyber World using codes. It wasn't that hard. He left his own kind of twist on every code he fixed. "Fine fine. I need to go to that area anyway." she said before the circle at her feet brightened and both Hotaru and the circle disappeared at once.

The General, who was still in his office, deleted the ghost clone he had created on the cyber world and shut off his monitor. "Remind me why I havent suspended her yet." he growled to agent Christensen.

Christensen shrugged "Because she's one of the best in the buisness and she knows it."

    "Damn." the general muttered again.

"So just call me Shadow and thanks for welcoming me." Tervin announced to the few people. He was in the KHP servers, or more exactly, his introduction thread. There was a few people around, the type to rush in and welcome every member. Tervin was in his A form, just to appear nirmal. In fact, he was smiling and making jokes with everyone. But is was all just a ruse. Nobody knew him well enough to tell otherwise so they thought he really was this cheerful guy. Stupid morons. Soon you'll be tested on by my virus. But first I need to hack your security system to make sure it won't stop it. Simple enough given the horrible security this place has. Which is exactly why I chose it. Tervin just continued joking with everyone for a while. No harm in waiting a little while he thought.

"Hello newbie! I'm Moogle, and I run the gaming area, kupo." Came a boy's voice from behind Tervin. Moogle continued, "Now. . . Be nice and read the rules or else I will have to UNLEASH AN UNHOLY WRATH THE LIKES OF WHICH THE WORLD HAS NEVER KNOWN! But don't mind me, tee-hee! I hope you have a good time here!" before striking a pose and disappearing from the area.

He reappeared in the game section just in time to catch a godmodder in the act of godmodding, and issued an immediate nega-rep.

"Well, would you look at that?" Zain said from atop a pillar. A cloud had enveloped a user cp. Even as he watched, the cp and the user were both deleted. "Nice. I like the scope of the attack, but it's bit nasty for my taste." The cloud turned in on itself, and vanished, leaving the destruction as the only proof of its existence. "Well, time to go." He stretched as he stood up, then leaped off the pillar executing a perfect double somersault in mid air. He landed lightly as a cat, and began walking towards the destroyed zone, but took care not to enter it. A void sat in the middle of the data space, marking the poor guys cp area, or what was left of it. "Yeah. To destructive for my tastes. Still, i gotta do something or i won't have anyone left to hack. Now were is the biggest forum on the net? Thats what a people eater like that would go for. Hmm... Kh-3.Net. Yeah, that would do it." He threw out a disk that created a portal to the website. "And we're off for the greatest forum out there. I can't believe i'm joining as a member and not a hacker. Oh well." He jumped in, and the disk and portal vanished with a pop.

Everyone here is so nice. It makes me... sick. Tervin was walking through the forum main street page. Along the sides were doors leading to different sections, a few open and a few closed marked 'restricted access.' Those look promising. But I think I'll wait until tomorrow. Then these people will be perfect experiments. But which part to test it on? Oh the target decision is always hardest. Tervin smiled to himself as he kept walking. It was obvious to any that looked he was happy about something. About what though, only he knew.

"Hello user. Would you like to enter this forum as a member, or as a guest?" A voice asked as Zain stepped out of his portal. "I'd like to join." "User name?" "Zain Carder." "Now retrieving necessary data... Retrieved. Welcome Zain Carder." "Thanks."

He stepped into the forums, admiring the work that had gone into it. "One thing to say about the mods and admins, they knowhow to build a forum." A sign was to his right that said, "Spam City This Way." "Alright!" He yelled, then started running.

With his advertisements going slow, Charon logged off of his information account and opted for his favorite.

    The Hero.

With a sleek muscular build, and blue hair that stood on it's own, this avatar was an early model he had developed himself. It was one of his prized possessions, because of the sheer amount of time he had put into developing the coding. It was decked out in a sort of Japanese styled clothing, with gold embroidery at the ends of his sleeves and legs.

While most hackers would be busy trying to breach firewalls and either alter information or steal it, this characters abilities lay within his own ability to appear more heroic. Stupid? Maybe, but it sure as hell worked in some cases. Especially with some of the ladies.

Normally he was to shy and timid to talk to any girls at his school, but here on the net he could be anyone he wanted to be, and not have to worry about what some people thought. After all, how would they know who he was?

Standing in the endless loop of white cyber-space, Charon pulled up a search engine.

The translucent menu hovered in mid-air before his avatar, a box -only distinguishable because of the black outlining against the white background- sat with a cursor blinking.

"Well, seeing as how the information wasn't selling well today, maybe I can just go chill. But where? Some place fun... Some place where I can go a bit more crazy... " A thought occurred to him, as he remembered some kids talking about role-playing during lunch. With deft strokes against the keyboard he entered 'role-playing' and let the list of sites pile up.

His eyes scanned over the lengthy list as he contemplated which ones looked interesting. He didn't bother with any of the sites that delt with a genre he wasn't satisfied with, as well as any that were host to movies, t.v. shows, and books. When he was done he had a list of about four that looked promising. "Now, which to choose?" Compressing his lips into a thin line, Charon covered his eyes with one hand and said, "Any, many, miny, moe!" And then removed his hand. "KH-3.net? Huh, alright."

Pressing the link with his hand, the list disappeared and gave way to a portal leading to the site. "And down the rabbit hole I go!"

*OOC: lol Zer, this is how Moogle always is jkjk*

Next to the 'wall' where Gerik was doing his repair work, a few codes aparated into the space. The codes began moving a bit and changing, faster and brighter by the second. They all formed together in mere seconds, creating Hotaru.

"Have you been down here all day?" she asked him a bit sarcasticly, knowing he was just as work stubborn as she was... or at least close. And wouldn't have left this tower until it was completely void of the damage that the hackers inflicted. Hotaru could tell he was pretty close to being finished anyway though.

"You missed quite a lot while you were down here, though. It seems that we may be needed to go on a little feild trip." she saw the remains of the little robot and smiled a bit, "But hey, if you'd rather stay here then I think I could handle the investigation on my own."

Time to get to work. Tervin was standing in his User CP. He kept it bare, same with his profile info. The less people knew of him the better. His form shimmered for a moment. His A form slowly morphed into his C form, his true form. A second later it was done. He brought up a keyboard and did a quick hack on his own profile. There. Now if anybody checks, I'm in my User CP. Nobody but mods and admins can reach me in here, but I haven't done anything to draw attention. Hehe... yet. Tervin opened up a small shortcut and ran through. The portal closed behind him and a second later he was floating above the Entertainment section on a platform of data. "Let's start the show." Tervin snapped his fingers and three screens popped up. The center screen was blank save for a small flashing line awaiting text. The second showed the section below him in greater detail, such as user info and location. The final screen showed the sites security system, which was currently doing small patrols around the RP section.

Tervin brought up a new keyboard and began typing. Below him in the entertainment section, three large black balls formed. The balls slowly changed thier shape into large hulking monsters. Tervin finally typed in one final word. "Destroy."

A blip appeared on Moogle's HUD - don't ask why he could see one, because he wouldn't tell you - but disregarded it, seeing as Entertainment was not his area to take care of. However, that didn't stop him from just. . . sneaking a peek for kicks. So, he left the Roleplay area and headed down to the Entertainment district. Of course, that never prepared him for what would soon appear in his line of sight: Viruses. The moment he saw one of the beasts, an immediate change into Form A was issued, turning him into an actual moogle. A Libra 'spell' was readied, and he scanned the data of these. But, nothing came up. These viruses were something new. . . And then, one of the creatures saw Moogle.

    "Fiddlesticks."

"I've been working. Not hiding. Surely you could tell when somebody is hiding. Being the expert that you are." Gerik said sarcastically. "And no. I'm not gonna let you go and do the investigation yourself. For multiple reasons, of course. Mainly, because I'm bored. And because we're a team. A team isn't a team if the members are divided."

Charon entered the Entertainment Thread. The door opened per-usual - a hole in the middle of the air, marked by the fragments of data that floated just where the whole of it had been. Stepping through he readied for his usual entrance. Closing his eyes, he began. "Howdy Folks!" Extending his right hand high above his head a brilliant white orb floated above the palm of his hand. "I hope y'all doing good, because if not then I - the amazingly wonderful, heroic, and all around awesome guy - Rowand Silverstreak will have to put the 'aw' back in 'awe-inspiring'!" The orb extended, becoming nearly twice his avatars length, and solidified into a cold brown staff with a sword-spear head. Twirling it around effortlessly, Charon grinned with satisfaction as he prepared himself to be greeted by new people.

When he opened his eyes, however, he realized that only two people inhabited the whole of the section. And neither of their avatars could really be called "people". One looked like some floating Carebear reject that he barely recognized as the mascot of some RPG game. The other ... Well the other just looked like an abnormally large deformed toad with inky black skin and an octopus slash shield for a head. Someone obviously like the horror shows too much. "Hey now, what's this? Just two of you alone? Don't tell me I'm interrupting some romancing. Because that'd be weird and awkward."

Hotaru stopped at the doorway where she had been about to leave. She shrugged "Hey I wasn't being serious when I said you were hiding. Dont be so sour." she turned back around to see him again "Well if you're comming then you should know the basics." she pushed a sensor on her sleeve and the hackers recently viewed sites that she stored there came back out in transparent windows hovering at just lower than eye level. "A hacker found his way into our archives after most everyone else went back to the RWB." she was saying "He was gone before the alarms went off. I managed to pull back his site history. This is everything he pulled up from our archives." she was explaining "Problem is, they are all forums as you can obviously tell." as she walked, the windows followed her for a short distance but then stopped in the center of the room "Most of them aren't even busness forums. Just recreational ones. So maybe you can riddle me this. Why would someone go through the trouble to hack into our records just to look for forums? I doubt it's because he was looking for a good place to roleplay."
