Hunters

Lync called out on his intercom to Reo and said "Reo." "Calm down." "We won't let you die." He then got off of the intercom and looked towards Wolf. He then said "That would be crazy but you do have a good point there." "We need to capture them." He then turned to Zain and said "Zain." "Its the only way."

 

Will scooped his helmet up and followed Wolf, slotting the helmet into place easily. He just followed Wolf, going to the weapon rack and slotting the SPNKR Launcher back into it's place. He felt bad that he had let Grahl go, depressed even. He was supposed to be elite, the best of the best, trained from birth and to what? To fail just short of the end? "God help me..." He breathed.

 

"Do I have an option?" He asked, then smacked his com unit. "This is the Inshalla. Requesting permission to take off and rejoin the fight."
"Are you sure you can make a difference? Your only one pilot and you've traveled a long ways."
"I'm going to sit and wait while you run that insult through your head again." Zain growled, powering up his ship and running a pre flight check.
After a minute they heard, "Apologies. Proceed Inshalla. You are clear to launch."
Zain looked at Reo and Will. "Once Reo over there gets his head together, you two should fly a few other fighters. That way, we can all work to get to that ship. The Inshalla only needs one man to fly her, but Wolfs in no shape to go flying a fighter. He just got out of a close scrape. I'll wait for you guys to contact me telling me your ready."
He turned back to his com. "Command, I'll head a few fighters out with me. We're gonna try to infiltrate and Sabotabe their flag ship. They should run back to what ever hole they came from."
"A good plan. Proceed when ready. You are now Teal leader. How many fighters?"
"I dunno." He turned to the others. "How many of you are willing to fly? If wolf is up to it, he can be leader i guess. I'm just here for the ride."

 

Will nodded, going to the rack and grabbing his BR55 Battle Rifle and his 20G Standard Riot Gun and made sure both were loaded. "Let's go then!" He said, grinning behind his visor. He wanted revenge, he wanted to win, and Spartans never lose. He strode up to the fighter and opened the door, holding it for Wolf.

 

"So one guy is fighting. These fighters are solo models from the looks of it. One pilot. Fast and strong, but shields suck. In short, don't get hit. Any laser pulses at long range should be fine. Mid range your butt might get toasty. These won't stop short range pulses, and missiles. The good news is, these could fly fast enough to get away from a missile, and they are highly maneuverable." Zain told everyone. "Now my Inshalla is a tank. She can take most short range stuff, and nothing short of a planet or plasma bomb will take my shields out, but i can't keep up. Move around me, and if you need a hand, she can burst anything out there right now. If i get ganged up on though, i'm screwed. Please keep most of the trouble off me. Especially the bombers. They have strong pulse plasma bombs, that will tear me to shreds."

 

Reo looked down at his hands and began breathe even harder. NO NO NO NO! IT'S IN SPACE NOT THE GROUND! I'M SCREWED!!!" His vision started to blur and he began to cry. By the time his first tear fell to the floor, he had already collapsed from the fear of death. They never trained them to be prepared to go into the unknown in combat in the academy.

 

Lync heared them and said on his intercom "Wolf is right Reo." "Remember your honor as a Hunter." Lync then turned it off and looked at Wolf leaving. He then sighed and said "Wolf, don't die sir." "If you die, then who will lead us in this great fight then?" "Try to answer that for me."

 

Reonarudo regained his composure and followed Wolf into the fighter. His thoughts went back to his training in the academy, it was the first time he had been in a survival tactics training and he was by himself. In those days, he made things look so easy. "When you are behind enemy lines, the best thing you can do is fight. You fight till there's nothing left of you. As a Hunter and Defender, your alligance is to us, no matter what. When you're shot, you damn well better shoot back. When fear is upon you, pain is the way out. You can't torture a man, like you can torture a dog. When a man has gone through hell in combat, only then does he really see the truth behind war. In war, you are the weapon, weapons are tools used for killing, and when you bring a weapon into the scene you better be prepared with the consequences." Reonarudo put on his helmet with a contemptful scowl on his face. "Squad leader, requesting a favor . . . "

 

Will sat into the cockpit and shut the doors. He made sure his lasers were active then he gunned the throttle. It dropped slightly as it entered the air but then rebalanced as Will turned sharply, dodging a flying laser. He flipped it again and then shot a wing off a fighter. "Gotta find Grahl..." He grunted.

 

Reon sat in the seat next to Will and started to push buttons to find some sort of reading on Grahl's location. Reon noticed on the scanner to bleeping lights. They looked like arrows. That could only mean one thing . . . seekers. "Will, we got two seekers coming on us from the rear of this fighter. I can't get a good reading on who fired them though . . . wait!" Reon checked the infrared vision on the ship's monitor. In the rear he could see a shp coming up on them fast. "Damn it."

 

Will grinned. "Gotta love a challenge..." He muttered, flipping the ship backwards. He dodged the seekers and turned, shooting the ship's cockpit and spinning past it. He then turned back, seeing the largest ship in the fleet. "Gotcha..." He breathed, slamming the throttle forward and releasing point missles to open a way into the ship.

 

Lync was hearing what they were saying on the intercom. "Don't be reckless out there Will." "We need to be a low profile." He then chuckled and said "You hothead." He then turned turned the ship a little to the left to dodge enemy fire. He then started flipping switches and said "Lasers on." "Targeting and fire!" Lasers were starting to fire everywhere.

 

Reon left the cockpit and went over to him. He sat down and took off his helmet and looked at the squad with a determined eye. "Sir . . . I would like to be the first on Grahl's ship when we're able to board." Reoan looked over his shoulder and recognized that it was picture of his childhood friend, Jamie.
