Favorite Genre?

    Given that this is a Kingdom Hearts website, I can only assume every member here has played Kingdom Hearts. Which I would then hope you've played at least one other video game. So, with that in mind, what is your favorite genre of video games? RPG, shooter, platformer, etc.

    For myself, it is RPG. Being given the game's world to be in and do stuff as the main hero is always a fun thing. Though admittedly there has to be a certain flow for the story for me. If it is too open ended, I'll probably end up lost and unable to progress through anything.

    I would agree with you about RPGs. Those are the types of games I've played the most. I like being able to immerse myself in the world and act the hero. I like stories about big, epic adventures and people coming into their own. But like you, I prefer that they not be too open-ended.

    Has to be, got to be, Role playing games. i can't get enough of them. it's just something about immersing myself in a world of anything really than reality. and becoming someone else and playing out a story through my own hands with my own emotions. In my opinion nothing else compares. it's really all i own is RPG games, fighting games and sims lol. oh and MMO's

    I suppose, given that this is a KH forum, this agreement was kind of a given. XD

    I haven't really played too many other games to compare to RPGs. I played some platformers when I was younger, things like Super Mario Bros and such, which I loved as a kid, but they don't pull you into the world in the same way RPGs do, at least in my opinion.

    I've just never been a really expansive gamer, so I don't have a whole lot of genres to compare. It's mostly just been RPGs, and even those are mostly just FFs and KH.

    There havent been any good plat-formers since the jak and daxter/ Rachet and clank era. Since then nothing has come close.
