Kyuu's mom looked confused. "Wait, tickets to New York?" she looked at Kyuu and then turned back to Jesse. "But you saved my daughter's life?" she smiled at him and sighed. "I have to think about that now..."
Her dad looked at Jesse and said, "You're american?"

Kyuu stood up and said to her father, "Dad, it doesn't matter is he american, or finnish, or japanese!" she looked angry, "I love him!"
Her dad looked a little confused to see Kyuu so angry. He looked at her daughter and was about to say something when her mom put her hand on his shoulder. "Don't be mad at her" she said kindly, "If it's true that she loves him, we can't change the things. And don't forget that boy saved her life."

 

Val rolled his eyes, "No, it was just one. A rather sadistic one at that." Val looked away as the memories scorched him. "But I prefer not to dwell on the past, especially with you in my present."

Val was about to kiss her when two more rouges jumped from the trees behind Hope. "Get behind me Hope!"

He pulled Hope behind him as the first of the two charged him. Val lifted his leg, and jammed his foot straight into its face. It hit the ground, and the next second, Val shoved his foot straight to its head, crushing it.

The second roared in fury, and lunged at him as well. You'd think they'd learn. Val lifted his hand, and the rouge burst into flames.

Val, panicked, turned to Hope. "Are you alright, love?"

 

Jesse looked at Kyuu and then at her dad, "Sir, I don't really care if you like me or not. I love your daughter and that will never change." Jesse looked determined to get it through her dad's head that he was in love with Kyuu and that was final.

 

Her dad looked still angry but didn't say anything. Her mom looked at Jesse and said, "Thank you for saving my daughter's life." she smiled a little. Kyuu looked at her dad and said, "Dad, please try to understand that we love each other... you can't change it."

Jesse sighed, "Look, I will marry your daughter tonight if it keeps us together."

 

Kyuu's dad sighed and said, "Well, then, do whatever you want, but that american boy is not good for you." then he stepped out of the room.

 

Jesse looked at Kyuu, "I'm sorry. I did'nt mean to make your dad mad."

 

Kyuu looked at him. "Don't worry about it. He's always been like that.." she smiled a little, "I'm sure he will accept this. It'll just take some time." she looked at her mom. "And just to let you know, we are going to go to New York on christmas. And you can't stop us." her mom sighed but then she smiled. "Okay, okay. I understand."

 

Jesse's parents walked over to him and his mom slapped him, "You stupid boy. I had to cut my day off short to come to the hospital. I wish you would stop being a mistake."

 

Kyuu looked at his mom, surprised because of her reacting. "Ah, sorry, but weren't you worried about him?"

 

"Worried? Look, he's just a mistake. I regret ever having him."

 

Kyuu was getting angry, "How can you say that? He's your son." she looked at his father and asked, "How about you..?"
