Kh-3 Prom/masquerade

"No, Jesse, you won't die.." Kyuu said and hold his hand. "You will survive and we can go to New York together."

 

Jesse smiled, "I can't leave you. I love you way to much to just die. I'll fight to live for you."

 

Kyuu smiled at him, "Same here."

 

Jesse kissed her, "Don't give up on me." Jesse could see the hospital coming up.

 

Val smiled. It'd been a long time since he got the chance to show off.

He looked over his shoulder at Hope, "Hang on princess." He kick-started the bike, revved it, the released the brake, sending them forward in a wheelie.

He took a sharp right, and went straight for the parking lot's exit when a rouge jumped in front of the bike. Not too smart. He sped up, and as he expected, the vamp jumped to its right to avoid the bike, and strike Val. Using his left hand, he jerked his hand to unsheath his sleeve-blade. In one quick slice, he beheaded the beast. It burst into silver dust.

He looked back at Hope. "You doin' okay so far?"

 

Kyuu smiled at Jesse as the ambulance drove to the hospital. The nurses got Jesse in a room and Kyuu sat on his bed. "They said me you need to rest." she said.

 

Jesse kissed her, "This was'nt suppose to happen. I'm sorry."

 

Kyuu kissed him back. "You don't need to apologize, the accidents are happening all the time. We just had bad luck." she smiled a little. "Do you want something to drink?"

 

Jesse nodded, "Some orange Juice would be nice."

 

Kyuu smiled. "Wait a sec, I'll get you one." she started to head towards the hospital's hallway.

 

A doctor grabbed Kyuu, "Excuse me ma'am. I need to speak with you about that boy."

 

Kyuu looked a little surprised but nodded. "Okay..." she said.

 

"Ma'am that boy would have died if we did'nt get there when we did. He must really care for you to have risked his life like that. Unfortunently his right arm is so badly damaged that he probably will never be able to use it again."

 

"But..." Kyuu tried to find the words. "But can you still try to get him all right? Can you, please..." she sounded desperate. She felt bad about Jesse because she knew she was the cause for his pain.

 

"He will live but we can do nothing for his arm. I'm sorry."

 

Kyuu shooked her head. She felt guilty but she knew she couldn't do anything for Jesse's arm if the doctor said so. She looked at the doctor again, "Can I go now to him?"

 

The doctor handed her a orange juice carton, "Yes."

 

Val laughed again, a little suprised. This gal had her quirks.
Good ones too.

"Well, that's good to hear." Val was quiet for a few minutes, and decided to break the silence.

"Thank you, Hope. I think I owe you a great deal." Val pulled to the side of the road. It seemed like the middle of nowhere. It was a single, small road that seemed to go on forever. Trees grew and blocked the view of the sky. It was fall, so leaves were falling all around them.

Val moved close to Hope, and drew her into his arms. "You are my most treasured gem. My world. And my Hope."
