Kh-3 Prom/masquerade

Kyuu looked at Jesse. He was the first boy who had said he loves her. "Jess..." she had never been that flattered. "I.. I dunno what to say..." she didn't even know what to think. She liked Jesse very much. But what about love...?

 

Val took her hand and led her to the dance floor.

As they began to dance, he looked into her eyes and saw a bright gleam, one he thought he'd never see again.

Without thinking, he asked, "Hope, have you ever been in love?"

!!! Sure as hell didn't see myself asking that question tonight.
He couldn't help but laugh at himself in his head.

Val shook his head. "I'm sorry, that was a bit sudden." He laughed, "I have a tendency to ask random questions sometimes."

He felt his heart jerk, he knew something was wrong. Somehow, he knew this night would end badly for him.

 

Aya shrugged, "Sure." she said with a shrug.

 

"Well, ladies first," Tom said, moving his hands towards the dance floor.

 

Val sighed, lost in his thoughts.

"I lost someone important to me. It wasn't too long ago. No more than a year." He had to blink back the tears. "You just remind me of her."

He couldn't stop himself from looking into her eyes, and the tears flowed out, unhindered. . .they poured out from behind the sunglasses. He had to remove them, to wipe the tears away.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't stop myselft." He stayed turned away, his eyes closed. "I trust you hope, would you like to see why I always wear these glasses?"

 

Jesse held her hand kissed it, "I've loved you for a long time, ever since you visited in the hospital after that car hit me. You were so nice to me. I felt happy with you."

 

Aya walked out in front of Tom onto the dance floor. She stopped and waited for him to catch up to her.

 

Kyuu kissed him back. She had never felt that way before. "Jesse.." whispered. "I think I love you too." she felt happy in his holding.

 

Jesse smiled, "You just made me the happiest guy on earth." He kissed her lips passionatly.

 

He turned to Hope, his eyes still closed. "Prepare yourself."

He sighed, and slowly opened his eyes. His eyes were normal, except for one thing. The irises were a revolving silver. Colors flowed and danced as the light reflected from his eyes. He felt fear, and prepared for the coming rejection.

"Here I am. Hate me yet?"

 

Kyuu kissed Jesse back and said, "I've never been this happy." she smiled at him.

 

Jesse smiled, "You are so beautiful and perfect." He held her close to him and loved feeling her in his arms. He loved protecting her and making her feel happy.

 

Tom caught up to Aya and they started dancing. "So, how long have you gone to this school?" Tom asked her, trying to start up a conversation.

 

Aya shrugged, "I'm kind of new here... maybe a week or two." she said casually.

 

"Well..." Tom started, "I could help you get used to life here if you want."
