A "fun" topic for many. *lawlthesarcasim*

But really yay or nay to a reboot ending. Actually explain why please. Even add a scenario if you wish. Let's have fun with this.

As much as I think a fresh start would probably do the series some good, I have to vote nay. The good of a reboot ending will be outweighed by my extreme dislike of such cop-out writing by the game developers. It's poor workmanship, writing yourself into a corner and not being able to write yourself out of it without starting over again. An ending like that would mean I've wasted probably hundreds of hours of my life on this series for pretty much nothing. So I'd prefer them to at least try and tie up the loose ends and continue on with these previous games in the continuity.

That's an argument I see most. I personally feel like the past years are already wasted due to DDD so I'm more open too it I guess. Do you have any ideas on how they could tie up all loose ends for 3? There's a lot of junk between interviews, game mysteries, game journals, how some are beginning to contradict and so on.

Not really, but I personally would focus on tying up the actual games. A lot of gamers might not have even read the interviews or that other stuff, so I wouldn't worry too much about contradicting crap Nomura spouted out at some interview or another.

Well I meant all of those are beginning to contradict not just Nomura's ambiguous words but your idea would work if they'd just quit focusing on details outside and just give the games story attention.
It doesn't need much just to be more solid or explained in it's actions.

I don't really care what all is contradicting. They should settle on one answer to each question going forward and ignore whatever they've said in the past that contradicts it.

Perhaps we're not giving the series enough credit and nothing really does contradict, and KH III will blow everyone's minds with how much everything makes sense and the ending will be totally awesome.

It bothers me a bit but mostly for other reasons these days. I do think it's a bit of a problem in ways. Hopefully so. All KH3 needs to do is tie most things together with a decent answer and from there the rest can honestly be ignored.
For instance despite the little hiccups or fan ravings the only real retcon in the story is Ansem not being Ansem waaaayyyy back in KH2.

Um... why should there even need to be a reboot? Just continue with the story plot and the next part of the series. Why? reboot the game and have Sora as a shy boy, Kairi a punk-girl and Riku the boy all the girls love in school? I'm not too sure. I do believe Kingdom Hearts 3 will bring everything together... unless they only then lead you into a deeper hole of unfound mysteries...

They dont NEED one yet it's just something I thought would make a topic. As for that rabbit hole honestly I dont have faith they can come out of it personally but we'll see.
