So I saw last year a thread was made on this topic (I think by Kitty) and, seeing as Halloween is pretty much my favorite holiday, I thought I'd do another one for this year.

So what are your Halloween plans? Are you going to dress up or anything fun?

Well, being that I'm starting work again next week, and Halloween is on a Monday this year, I probably won't get much chance to attend many parties or anything of the sort. I might've been able to plan something on a weekend when I won't necessarily be working, but I decided to pick up one of my old jobs scaring people at a Halloween attraction. So I guess, in my own way, I'll get to be festive for the occasion this year.

In my opinion that's the best way to celebrate :p Jack Skellington would approve at least. I'm pretty much the same I work on the day of Halloween. However my boss takes Halloween pretty seriously so it's not a very productive work day as much as the employees bring their kids and dress up and whatever else.
I also volunteer at an elementary school on Mondays and supposedly I'm supposed to be helping out with an event then as well.
If I remember correctly you like doing fx gore makeup and that kind of thing. Is that part of the job you just mentioned?

It's certainly not the worst way to spend my Halloween season. Growing up I always did want to be one of those people that scared all the trick-or-treaters when they came by, so working in a haunted house is pretty satisfying. It's also nice because I get paid to do it... I know, getting paid to do something fun!

I do enjoy doing gore/monster makeup. But I don't get to do it as part of the job. :/
I'm an actor, and they laid down the law about actors not doing their own makeup, because they have people that are being paid to do that (who are way better at it than I am).
Come to think of it, I haven't done a makeup project in quite some time. I should really try to do more in my free time when I have more of it. lol.

Did you carve these? The Jack Skellington one is pretty cool. :) Personally Halloween is one of my favorite holidays so I take it seriously. Most of the time I try to attend at least one party but my favorite thing about it is I get to do fx makeup on myself and my friends without it being "weird" lol

There is a pretty popular amusement park near where I live that does this big Halloween event through all of October I try to make it to as well. All of the stages become giant spook allies and stuff like that.

I love Nightmare before Christmas the carving is really cool.

Thanks! That was last year I'm hoping to try some different materials this time around to make them a little more realistic.

It's cool. The park is decent sized and they decorate the whole park with webs and creepy stuff. There are also people hired to dress all scary and chase park goers with chain saws and fake knives. Mandatory-Credit-Local-TV-Out-237.jpg they are particularly creepy when it gets dark.
There are live performances of Halloween music and whatnot and a lot of the rides are redone or stages turned into haunted houses.

Note: I merged the Halloween 2016 and Any Halloween Plans/Traditions? threads.

As far as Halloween goes, like the past two years, my school is putting on a kid-appropriate haunted house for our community, so I'll be working that next weekend. On Halloween night, I don't actually have any plans. I'll honestly probably be working on homework and maybe I'll stick on the Nightmare Before Christmas or something. *shrugs* I'm too wussy to go to actual adult haunted houses, although there are a few not too far away, and I don't know anyone having a party, so despite Halloween being my favorite holiday, it'll probably be pretty low-key.

@Derek, I agree with Hope, the Jack Skellington carving looks pretty cool.

*didn't notice the other thread* My bad Dx

That school thing sounds fun. Are you gonna dress up for it? You said it's usually lowkey but gotta dress up for the school one no? :D

    Thanks ;u;

I don't think I could pick a favorite Halloween movie lol too many good ones. But Nightmare Before Christmas is definitely up there.

Whole face would be ideal. And I have another friend who sent me a reference photo of something pretty cool she wants done. 31c22fe4ff438c0dbbec8196fd6bcd18.jpg Looks simple though I doubt I can bs it with tissue and Elmer's glue like usual xD

Usually I'm too big of a pansy to go through the scarier haunted houses as well. I usually hold on to the person next to me for dear life and go through with my eyes closed a majority of the time honestly. XD
There was one I went though last year where they separated groups of people into individual coffins and carried us in individually. We had to do this weird maze thing and reach through holes in the walls to find keys in order to regroup. Probably wouldn't do that again.

lol Ya never know. Some of the most epic things are simplistic in tools x'D
haha What I can't do is sit through horror films. I have this thing were I either find them hilariously dumb or so disturbing I can't sleep.
That sounds kinda cool yet horrifying o-0
