Some RP Ideas

Now that my spirits are on an upswing, my train of thought as produced a few things that I'd like to try and get started with here in our lovely little Roleplay Section. I've had three items on my mind for some time. The first two are for the arena, and the third would probably end up being an original roleplay.

1. Return of the Halloween Bash - Originally created as a tournament hosted by Requiem, Halloween Bash would pit RPers against one another utilizing characters based on/inspired by Halloweenish characters; creatures such as werewolves, vampires, witches and more are welcome. My goal would be to commence the tournament's IC portion next week, and conclude it around Halloween time (probably shortly after at this point). If enough interest is caught, it will remain in a tournament format. Or, if we so desire, we can engage in it as a just-for-fun battle royal.

2. KHPlanet Struggle Competition - Something I attempted to pitch near the end of the summer as a quick tournament, that, to my misfortune, never gleaned much activity. This would ultimately be a long term event, beginning around March, and spanning through several months, culminating in a late summer tournament; perhaps even expand beyond that time frame with pre and post season type activity. It would largely follow an RPG approach to character growth, with battles yielding points, and thus reward spoils to invest into improving skills, gaining abilities and acquiring new weaponry.

3. Nation-Based Roleplay - So... we don't have very many people around here, and having large-scale RPs is pretty difficult when we've only got about five or six of us floating around. Right?

Wrong! I'm of the interest of getting a nation roleplay up and running, such that we might be able to engage in something much grander in scale than we have done in the past. Essentially, we, the roleplayers would create not just a character or two a piece, but entire states/nations/kingdoms/empires/etc, mapped upon a national, continental or global setting. We would highlight the actions of a handful of important characters within our respective nations, playing out the interactions between each others' nations: diplomatic pursuits, trade agreements, the occasional mobilization of our armies to go into battle with one another.

Do let me know what you all thing of these ideas. I'd like to see at least one of them get off the ground.

 

I figured that one would be one to catch someone's interest.

It'll probably be a light fantasy setting within a more classical world, though I'm open to alternatives. It will have to be a collaboration, given just how large of an undertaking it would be.

 

Well what good is it to only do a holiday themed event once?

I'd like to do something to draw attention to the arena, unless more people would rather do away with the section all together.

 

It does seem like no one that is here is terribly interested in anything to do with the arena though. Besides myself, you and Sho, no one has tried to make anything of it recently.

I'd actually be interested to know (probably in another thread), what sort of elements would give people incentive to partake in an arena event.

For the sake of providing an update on the nation RP, I've just sketched out a map outline. Coming up with the written info for it later in the week.

 

I figured a continent would be large enough a stage for us. If there's more interest than three people we just limit nation sizes.

Also, I'm taking I ideas for a name for this continent.
