    Legend of Sol

Zelda Theme Remixed: Vemix - Link's Electric Nightmare - YouTube

It is the 25th anneversery of the prestegous school, Castle Town High School. It's the beginning of our main character's Senior Year of the school. Some already have their futures mapped out as protectors of Hyrle or moving on to higher education. But Odd things are beginning to happen around Hyrule and this year, even within the school, people are beginning to go missing and a strange darkness seems to be gripping all over Hyrule. Something evil is on it's way. And for some of them, the journy of a lifetime is about to begin. Wake up Hero of Courage, Open your eyes Hero of Wisdom. A storm of Absolute Power is on it's way and you are the only ones who can stop it. You are our only hope!

This RP will begin with the first day at Castle Town High School. I'm not mapping anything out other than that. If you've played any of the Zelda games, what comes next will be pretty self explanitory. The main plot will obviously be the journy of the goddesses chosen heroes and battle between them and the deamon lord. But it doesn't have to be the only plot. That's right, in this RP, I am not only allowing, but I am encouraging side plots. Just be within reason.

Zalor waited at the door for Sol. First day of school and his best friend wasn't done. He knew his fiend was the prince and all but, Zalor thought that maybe, Sol took it a bit into the royal head of his. He sighed and then pulled off the gauntlet and looked at his black, crisped arm an hand. He sighed, recalling what happened that day.

Well that was the past, now he waited for his best friend. He got up and opened the door to see his friend training with that Josleyn character.

"Hahahahahaha! You two still have alot to learn. Sol, Josleyn, it was a good try, but if you two keep arguing in the middle of a fight you're gonna keep losing. Anyway that's it for today. I have to return to the fortress and help the few Gerudo students that go here. I'll see you two at the same time tomorrow a'ight? We'll be learning about parrying, so be ready." The older boy smiled and put his hands in his pockets, "See you later you two. Stop by sometime, we'll have an amazing hunt in the desert!" He turned and began to walk away.

OOC- Hope, DW, you guys were training, but you lost again, and that's where you guys are.

The streets near Castle Town High were clean and orderly. The adjacency made businesses flourish and likewise the wealthy lived here. The day-time bustling and exchange echoed throughout the alleys. Students flocked for the first day of school.
    ---------------------

Strega was knelt on a ledge which partly over-viewed Castle Town High and a few housings. Junior-year was a new start for him, a new beginning and a new experience. Yes, everything up til now would be completely forgotten. The old life and the old Strega was no more. Indeed, everything was changing for the bett--

"Ahhh" a nearby girl screamed. "Oh no!" a second girl yelled at the top of her lungs. More and more girls started to shout. Soon all of them could be visually seen fleeing the area while covered in bizarre rags, an ooze, and torn clothing. "Skull Kids!" a pedestrian said gazing on the feat that manifested itself before her. She grabbed her youngin' and took off. Other townspeople began to fear as the children unintentionally appeared as Skull Kids infested the city.

    "Classic" Strega stood up grinning.

Nothing had changed nor been forgotten!

    >Here I was at a loss as to what to post due to being suddenly thrown into a situation and then deciding to wait on Hope, only to find out she was waiting on me. Well here goes.<

"It wasn't the arguing that caused any sort of loss." Sol spoke as he brushed some dust off of him. "There's a lot going on right now." He glanced at Josleyn before quickly turning his head away. "Too much going on." Sol let out a loud yawn and rubbed his eye. As much as he'd hate to admit it, Josleyn was one of the few people who he could do something like that in front of and not worry about not being as presentable as a prince should be. "Anyways Josleyn, I can trust you to clean this all up? There's some stuff at the castle that needs my attention before I can actually be at school." Green bands of magic swirled around Sol as he teleported away with Farore's Wind before Josleyn could argue with him some more.

    -----

Sol appeared in front of the castle gates just as they were opening up for a small squadron of soldiers. "What's going on Captain? Isn't it just a bit early for the mid-morning patrol?"

All the soldiers stopped in formation and saluted Sol. Once they did, the captain spoke up. "It isn't that Prince Sol. There have been reports of some Skull Kids appearing in part of the town. Somewhere near your school."

"What are the odds? Considering I was just over there. Although what are Skull Kids doing outside of the forest? This doesn't make any sense." Sol sighed. "Well then, I'm coming with you Captain."

"Are you sure that's the safest thing for you to do Prince?"

"I can manage myself in a fight you know. And besides, what sort of prince would I be if I didn't go about protecting my own people? I suppose that the stuff father wanted me to do will just have to wait." The troops all nodded to what Sol was saying. "And Impa, if you can hear this you're coming along too." Sol shouted out. If Impa, the one person who had an eye on Sol more than Joselyn did, was in earshot surely she would show herself to Sol. After all, what kind of bodyguard would she be if she simply let the prince walk into danger like that? "Let's go." Sol and the soldiers moved out and headed towards where the Skull Kids were reported to be.

Josleyn was caught off guard by Sol's suggestion "Hey!" she called after him, but it was too late. "Gosh I hate when he does that." she thought to herself with an exasparated smile on her face. With a sigh, she used wind based magics to sweep away some of the dust that had collected during their training session, technically this was against school rules but the only teacher that could catch her was Ace and he normally let her get away with using just a little magic. She was getting distracted by her spells and was really startled when she heard a voice.

"Josleyn, you know you could get into trouble for that."

Startled, Josleyn lost control of her spell, blowing dust and dibris everywhere. Caughing, Josleyn wheeled around to identify the newcommer, recognising her instantly "Impa! Don't scare me like that." she complained, sweeping dust out of her sleeve "I worked really hard on that spell."

Impa smiled "And the funny thing is, you are using up twice the energy that you woud have to just clean up the mess on your own."

"Yeah... but half the time." Josleyn muttered.

Impa only shrugged "I thought Sol was supposed to be here, training with you and Ace this morning."

"He was but he took off before the real fun started." Josleyn responded, picking up a broom.

"I see, have you any ideas where?"

"Somewhere in the castle." Josleyn said, a little more cheerfully, "He said something about needing to get a few things done before school starts." she added.

"Much thanks Jos." Impa said, bowing her head slightly. As she disappeared out the door, Josleyn watched as the damage from the training session that morning fixed itself. "Thanks." she called after Impa, who seemed to be pretending she had no idea what the young elf girl could be talking about. Elves were such odd creatures, so much wiser, in many ways, than the human race and even her own in some was, yet still so naive.

Impa was barely near by in time to hear what Sol was planning. So much more unpredictable than his mother was... she thought to herself, not sure if she was annoyed or facinated. At Sols suggestion, Impa was at his side near immediately "Of course I'm coming too." she said "It wouldn't exactly be ideal for you to go galavanting off on this kind of mission without me, youd get yourself killed and we don't have time for that this morning." she added, only half way joking. She said it quietly enough that only the young prince could hear.

A bright, grass green orb of light descended from the ceiling of the training area where Jos had been charged with clean-up duties. Accompanied by a strangely audible fluttering of tiny wings, the orb zigzagged its way towards the ground, sprinkling small shards of its light about below it. As the orb reached its destination, it began to evaporate, which it did until it was completely gone. Where the orb had been, there was now a fairy, not even a foot tall, gently floating down towards Jos. If the expressions on her miniscule face could be read, they would indicate a satisfied displeasure at the events that had unfolded through the morning events. The fairy carried this expression her whole way down, only breaking when she came to a relaxed landing atop Jos’ head.

    “You know what,”
the fairy said, in an I-told-you-so kind of voice. “I bet that if you didn’t waste all of your energy spelunking about at night, you’d be able to mop the floor with that Ace’s head any day.”

Josleyn scoffed "I was only out until midnight Eve. Thats hardly all of my energy. I'm probably just sore from having to take the local bus to Castleton this morning like you insisted instead of my original plan of walking." she spoke as she was walking out of the now cleaned arena, being careful not to make Eve lose her balance. Graceful as Jos was, even small movements can be huge to a being no taller than Josleyn's index finger.

With a huffing sigh, Eve pushed off of Jos' head, in a comically imbalanced fashion due to Jos' sudden movement. A bit angrily, she fluttered alongside the young teenager with her arms folded and her face in a minor scowling expression. It was every time! Every time she tried to impress upon the girl the need to quit with her over-abundance of adventuring, she was met by a contradicting attitude. She flew around and faced Jos while drifting backwards. "Be that as it may," she said slowly, giving the distinct shaking of her pointer finger, "you've got to start acting more responsibly. The night before the first day of school is no time to go wandering into the Lost Woods!"

She drew a heaving, exasperated breath in and then out. "And the bus is the best way to travel," she added. "For you anyways. You'd have had to wake up much earlier to get here walking, which probably wouldn't have happened since you were out last night. And besides, I haven't forgotten about the Peahat incident the other day."

"Of course not. I still haven't ranted to you about what's been bothering me lately." Sol replied to his guardian. They were a bit further ahead than the soldiers; this allowed them to have some semblance of a conversation without worrying about eavesdroppers. "Anyways, I may or may not have mentioned this to you before, but I've been plagued by all sorts of weird dreams as of late. Some are good, some are bad, none of them really make sense. They all seem to be connected in some way or another. The bad dreams... I suppose you could call them nightmares. They involve me being stared at by someone. I can't make out who it is. This individual is truly massive, appearing to be even larger than Gorons. He has no discernible feature save for his eyes. They are cold eyes, filled with hate for me. Sometimes in these dreams... These nightmares I also see Josleyn or Ace. Josleyn is always by my side, the eyes of the stranger filled with hate for her as well. Ace though, he's never in the same place twice. Sometimes he's by my side, other times behind me, other times in front of me. I've even seen him stand behind the unknown man in my dreams."

"As for the other dreams; the good dreams. Those are even more vague. There's always a dark storm that begins to cover Hyrule. But before it has the chance to consume all of Hyrule it is pushed back by a bright light from the forest. And from that light comes Josleyn. But in these dreams she is armed. Sometimes she has a Hylian Shield with her, while other times she has only a sword. But regardless of the shield, her sword is always the same. It is a finely crafted blade. The handle is a color somewhere between blue and purple and the hand-guard reminds me of a bird's wings. Near the base of the blade, a bit above the handle, is the symbol of the Triforce. I have a feeling it is a very important blade, but I have never seen anything like it. Not even a picture of it in any of the history books."

OOC- Taking Hope's advice lol, instead of interaction with Jos, let's have Ace pay a visit to Sol.

IC- Ace leaned against the wall as Sol, Impa, and the captain of the guard started to move, once Sol had passed him, he pushed off the wall and started to follow him. After silently following him for a short time he decided to speak up after the mention of dreams and the Triforce, "That sounds a lot like the legendary Master Sword. The bane of evil, and the exact blade that the mythical hero of time used to defeat the Evil King." Ace frowned, pondering what had been said about him in the dreams. "Impa, Sol... I've been having similar dreams... though mine were centered on a dark cloaked figure with dark eyes that felt like they were piercing through my skull... I don't know if it has anything to do with what you've been dreaming about Sol... but if you and I are having dreams like this, perhaps... Jos is as well?"

"The people of Castletown will definitely get a kick out of this!" Strega strutted down the flight of stairs with hands in pocket and chin pointed upwards. "I guess its time to bail! It is the first day after all!"

It was indeed, the first day of Castletown High where the many races of Hyrule congregated under one town, one school and under one union, the Royal Family. It's criterion ranged from the Magic Arts to Ancient learning and Swordmenship. This establishment was and is an important institution in the Hyrule world and its beacon of unity.

At the end of his step, someone was waiting there. Waiting for him! A figure without a name, a figure with only a purpose!

Zalor had walked off to figure out where Sol went off to, he was a bit distracted from waiting on his best friends. He walked across the streets and saw some kid running. He looked like he was having fun. He shrugged and then heard a scream as he walked around some more. He followed and heard the words, "Skull Kids!"...

    That can't be good.

He turned around and ran back towards the castle, maybe Sol forgot the stuff he needed for school, then again he was of royalty so be would have his butlers send his supplie shut still, he had to tell Sol that supposidly, Skull Kids are in.

    >Since a couple people have decided to converge towards Sol, I shall poke fun at you all by deciding that the distance from the castle to where everybody was in the beginning isn't a distance that can be covered with a brief two minute walk.<

"I never pegged you as an eavesdropper Ace." Sol sighed as Ace came up and talked about the dreams. "Although I must commend you for your speed. Considering the distance from where we were last together and here and the short length of time that has passed you do move fast. As for the dreams though, I did consider the sword Josleyn to have to possibly be the Master Sword. The only issue I find with that is that there are no actual physical descriptions of the sword to be found anywhere. Only that it is the sword of evil's bane and has been used to defeat evil in Hyrule's time of need. But because I have no proof of the sword in my dreams being the actual Master Sword and not another blade, I will refrain from calling it as such. In addition to that, you telling me that you have similar dreams to me is rather troublesome. I hope that it is all coincidental and I would rather Josleyn not be plagued by the same dreams. Whatever may come, these dreams being prophecy or simple dreams, I will do what I must to keep Hyrule safe."

"Those are big words coming from such a young prince." Impa smirked, keeping her thoughts on the dreams to herself for the moment.

"It is my duty as prince of Hyrule. Speaking of duty, I might as well inform you of what we're doing in case you were interested Ace. There are reports of Skull Kids running throughout the city. Considering the strangeness of the idea of Skull Kids leaving the Lost Woods we are going to investigate. You're welcome to join us but I do ask you to refrain from any action until we arrive to the location and I can make a proper decision on the validity of the reports."

Ace laughed, "I can move around when I want to hahaha!" He kept pace with Sol and listened as he explained his perception of the dreams. "If the blade is indeed the Master Sword then it could very possibly be a sign of dark things. What terrifies me is the known fact that evil seems to always center on the king of the Gerudo. I don't like the thought of being evil... So I hope you're right about it not being the actual blade..." He paused at the mentioning of Skull kids, "Hmm... sounds like a practical joke gone wrong. Last time I checked... Skull kids can't leave the Forest. This could either be a bad sign, or a bad joke... For our sakes, I hope it's the latter. I'll join you though, I have to see how this plays out!"

Jos rolled her eyes and sighed at her fairy, her breath causing the smaller being to fly back a bit. "Sorry," she said, chuckling just a little. "Anyways, if I had walked in, I would have gotten a good warm up before I got in. And you KNOW that I don't have any problems waking up after a late night." She gave a distinguished twirl on he toes before adding, "it's in my blood."

Entering the corridor outside of the arena, she wheeled over onto her hands and began to walk along in a perfectly balanced handstand. "The local bus stops like EVERYWHERE before it even gets to the castle gates," she said. "If I walk, I can get here in a straight shot. And the peahats were just a bit of practice. I didn't want to look like I had lost my touch when I got back."

"Yeah! Practice that almost left me without any wings on my back!" Eve huffed, lowering herself down to level with Jos' face again. "I'll have know that all that babble about Fairy's getting their wings when a bell rings is complete bogus! If I lost them there, you'd have had a hard time explaining to the Great Deku Tree why your Guardian Fairy didn't have wings!"

The fairy shuddered at the thought of her master seeing her wingless. Shaking her head, she checked a clock in the corridor, and flew on ahead. "Now come on. You'll have to be in class before you know it!"

Zalor kept running towards the the castle, but then soon decided that school at the moment was more important at the moment, the situation could be easily taken care off by the time he was already at the castle. So he decided to just walk to the school, hopefully Sol would remember about school.

"YEESH, Why was this training area so far away from the castle? Haven't they heard of location location location? Jeez," Zalor muttered to himself as he walked to the school.

Jos sighed, flipping herself back onto her feet and speeding her pace to match that of Eve's. "You know I wouldn't let that happen." Jos complained to Eve "Besides you're powerful for someone so small. It would take a lot for you to lose your wings. Though I'll admit, my actions recently have been more reckless than usual. I just feel like something is changing in Hyrule and I'm curious... and bored." she was once again complaining with that last part of her statement. "I'll try to be more careful during school this year."

Impa only listened to Ace and Sol talk. Though she was respectful to the two, Impa didn't like nor trust the king of the gerudo race very much. She wasn't sure wether or not it was because she still had her own personal issues with the Gerudo race from her memories of the great war years before Sol was born, or just because the man's cocky and arrogant attitude didn't mesh very well with her, but she kept quiet none the less, deciding to speak with Sol about his dream at a later time and help find out whatever was going on with the skull kids in the mean time.

It quickly vanished as soon as it had appeared. The whole situation was an enigma. Strega couldn't make any sense out of it nor did he want to. The school was at least a 10 minute walk from his location. After clearing his mind of his previous encounter, Strega began his stroll towards Castletown High.

While striding through the city, the people were making a bigger deal out of the "Skull Kids" than intended. It indeed caused an uproar and was bound to catch the attention of the higher ups. Did it make a difference to Strega? Yes, it made his elaborate plan all the sweeter.

Strega chuckles. "I wonder if my classmates will be gossiping about "my Skull Kids".

As Sol, Ace, Impa, and the soldiers continued through the city they finally found what they were looking for. Something about the size of a child ran right into Sol. At first glance it was indeed a Skull Kid. But Sol simply crouched down and helped up whatever bumped into him, essentially ignoring his own safety.

Upon closer inspection this 'Skull Kid' was in fact a regular kid. Sol sighed as he brushed some dirt off of the child. "Why are you covered in dirt and wearing rags like that?"

"I don't know. Me and a couple of kids were playing in one of the back alleys when there was a sudden burst of smoke that completely covered us. When it finally got blown away we all looked like this. As we walked out of the alley a woman screamed Skull Kids and started a panic."

"I see. And how many kids were you with?"

"There were eleven of us all together. When the woman yelled Skull Kids we all thought that there were actual Skull Kids behind us. We all got scared and ran away."

"So it really was just a prank." Sol sighed as he reached into one of his pockets and pulled out a handkerchief. He rubbed more of the dirt off the child, stood up, and took off the straw hat the child was wearing. "There. Now you won't be mistaken for a Skull Kid. Go home and wash up."

"Thanks mister." The child smiled before running off.

Sol tossed the hat aside as he turned to the captain. "Well it seems like it was a false alarm captain. Just a stupid prank to make some kids look like Skull Kids. Well, the kid did say that there were ten other children to whom this happened to. I want you all to search for these children and see to it that they all make it home safely."

"Sir!" The soldiers all saluted before leaving to go find the children.

"That was a waste of time. My apologizes for wasting your time like that Ace. I'm certain there are other things you'd rather be doing than falling for a prank like that. If there was any other business you had to attend to, please do not let me keep you from it. I myself have some things I must do at the castle before I can actually get to class. I suppose I shall see you later." Sol turned back towards the castle and began walking towards it, figuring Impa would quickly follow him.
