It won't be too expensive because of its unsuccessful launch. The price keeps dropping. Nintendo is in a pretty bind. It is their fault for releasing a console with few good titles.

Smart move! But I know I am right.

The 3DS is part of the next generation consoles. Previous consoles can not play newer console games. The Playstation was not able to play PS2 games and the Playstation 2 was not able to play PS3 games.

The DS, DS Lite, DS XL and the DSi were all apart of the same generation so yeah they can play DS games. The companies always make a newer version of a console to earn more money.

To simply put it. Your not going to find proof because proof does not exist.

Let me tell you my saying. My "God" is the true God and all other gods are inferior!

Let me blow your mind buddy.
Have you seen the 3DS Cartridge? Obviously not! Nintendo has changed it to prevent knuckle heads like you from inserting the 3DS cartridge (game) into the DS. Oh wait you don't believe me. Look at the image below!

Knowing you. Your still not convinced! Here's a little article from 3DSbuzz.com.
Trio: Legacy you could be making this all up and wrote that article yourself!!!!

Legacy: Thanks for giving me such high regards but no here is the link to the website.
How 3DS Cartridges Compare with DS, Xbox and Others

How many games does the Nintendo 3DS has now? Well, should it not matter as to whether the 3DS were released earlier? The PS3 was released earlier with a few game titles but then there were more games and the system started to pick up speed. Shouldn't the 3DS do the same thing too?

    Who knows?

The line-up for the 3DS was terrible too. The timing was off. They release the DS XL a year before the 3DS. Who in their right mind just bought a DS XL a year ago and now wants to buy a new model. Personally, I'm not sure about the PS3.

It should be doing better because they dropped the price. No one was buying the 3DS at first. Mainly, because of the DSi and DS XL plus lack of good titles and price. The 3DS was originally 250 USD. This is what the Wii originally cost. Now, it is (the last time I check Gamestop was having a 3DS limited time offer) 150 USD. That means Nintendo is losing 100 USD for each unit they produce. This tells you at 250 dollars. The consoles weren't saleing and their total cost for producing the console was more than their total revenue. So, Nintendo lost millions of dollars. In order to save their behind, they dropped the price to increase their revenue.

So, should the 3DS do the same. Yeah if they keep making Mario games!

But what if they are aiming in the making of the games that they want to be made for the system to balance out the cost in order to make profit though? And also, I have to say that the cost that you have stated, if one goes to Game Stop and they have a membership (This may be true in other places too even if it is not Game Stop), you can actually buy the game system at a lower price than what it usually stands for as long as you have the membership card active and with you. . Wouldn't that mess up the cost?

That makes sense but the game has its own cost which is affected by whether the consumers buy the 3DS or not. The budget of the consumer also comes into play. "If I buy a 3DS and a game" I'm not buying another game for a while.

If they put their faith in hoping that the games will sale then they are losing money by lowering the 3DS, on the units of 3DS produced, and the games they produced. So, the games have to pick up all that slack.

(It's hypothetical because assuming the consumers buy all of the quantity supplied from either Gamestop or Walmart.)

Hypothetically, let's say Walmart and Gamestop both buy their consoles from the same supplier. Gamestop is an actual game retail store. Walmart is not completely into that niche. Gamestop will tend to buy more than Walmart. Gamestop will be making more money on games than Walmart also. Thanks to Gamestop buying bulks of games. Their discount will be higher, saving them money. Plus, about half their income comes from used games. Poor Walmart can't compete with Gamestop unless they invest more into gaming. Since Walmart is not. They don't buy as much games from suppliers.

So if Gamestop is saving money for saleing consoles they paid less for. They are able to give discount for members who also contribute to their income. (I see it as a win win)

Basically it depends on the company and a bunch of factors. Too many to name.
