Brought to you from the creative minds of desert warrior, roaringflames, and blackrose.

    Plot:
Welcome to the popular MMORPG The World R:4.75. The events from years ago are occurring again, and now new players need to solve the mysteries of what is happening and save The World. If they fail, the real world could be in serious danger.

    Classes:

    Blade Brandier:Blade Brandier's wield medium-sized, one-handed, or katana-like swords in battle.

Macabre Dancer: Macabre Dancers are the expert class for status effects and parameter changes, and are very balanced casters, learning both healing and attack spells. Like Harvest Clerics and Shadow Warlocks, Macabre Dancers gain spells incredibly quickly, at a rate of almost one per job level, but learn no arts. Their weapons are Fans

Axe Dancer: A new breed of power. Similar to the Macabre Dancers and Shadow Warlocks in magic and the edge punishers in brute strength, they are able to devasting damage to an oppenent by combining their normal attacks with elemental spells (earth, fire, lightining, etc.) a new feature added to the game. This class comes with remarkable defense, a good balance between offensive and defensive magic, which makes up for the lacking base stat for offense.

Edge Punisher: Edge Punishers excel in physical attacking, especially against armored foes; however, they are much slower than classes such as the Blade Brandier. Edge Punishers also have higher defense from the heavy armors they can equip. Their weapons are Broadswords.

Flick Reaper:Flick Reapers are very weak to long range attacks. They're the medium range, "area attack" class. They "flick" multiple enemies and push them away before they can get close enough for melee attacks, but a good Steam Gunner or Lord Partizan could overpower them by attacking from afar. Their weapons are Scythes.

Harvest Cleric: Harvest Clerics are experts in healing magic. Like Macabre Dancers and Shadow Warlocks, Harvest Clerics learn spells incredibly fast, at a rate of almost 1 per job level, but learn no arts. Their weapons are Staffs.

Lord Partizan: Lord Partizans have good medium range attacks, but don't excel at "sweeping" attacks like Flick Reapers. Their defense and physical attack stats are very high, with magical attack being their only real weakness. They're also more monster-oriented, with a lot of good armor-piercing and anti-air weapons and skills. Their skill progression for low levels is also among the lowest. Overall, this class can cause the most immediate damage. Their weapons are Lances.

Shadow Warlock: Shadow Warlocks are experts in attack magic and are allied with the dark spirits. Like Macabre Dancers and Harvest Clerics, Shadow Warlocks gain spells very quickly, at a rate of almost one per job level, but learn no arts. Their weapons are Grimoires

Steam Gunner: Steam Gunners are the physical equivalent of Shadow Warlocks. Their shots are skills that operate the exact same way spells do, but deal physical damage instead. Steam Gunners' shots have greater range than any other physical hit, and their physical attack stat has the fastest progression of any class. Their weapons are Bayonets.

Dual gunner:among one of the new classes players can choose from. Dual gunners come equip with the same basic stats as a Steam Gunner but as the player levels up, the difference between the 2 begin to show. They are faster, stronger, and are able to shoot at a. slightly longer range than the original class. They are exceptionally well at hand-to-hand combat if the situation calls for that. Those who are Steam Gumners are able to attain a Dual Gunner form if they are at a certain level and complete a special event.

Archer: a new class added to the remake of The World. This class is similar to the Tribal Grapplers and Steam gunners. Archers can be considered the fastest class The World has to offer. They have a perfect balance of offense, defense and speed with a good amount of health which make them a force to be reckoned with. Just like a Steam Gunner, their shots operate like spells. Their weapons are primarily bows but if the player chooses to use the Job Extend feature then they will be able to use other weapons besides the bow. (see. Adept Rogue for more info)

Tribal Grappler: This class has the advantage of a very high attack speed, allowing it to achieve normal Rengeki extremely fast, in addition to very high HP. Their defense, however, is very low. They also have a very limited repertoire of arts. Their weapons are light gauntlet type weapons. These can range from lightweight gloves, to oversized, paw-like gauntlets.

Twin Blade:Twin Blades are extremely versatile, with more weapon types and subtypes than any other class. Their attacks are somewhat weak, but quick and easy to combo. Twin Blades have high agility and attack with two short swords. Their rapid attacks leave no opening for an opponent to counterattack. Their weapons are Dual Swords.

Adept Rouge: Unlike other classes, its users do not specialize in a single weapon, or form of combat. Instead of practicing in the use of a particular type of weapon, an Adept Rogue acquires several forms through Job Extend, each of which allows him or her to use a different weapon type. At the time of creation, the user picks 2 to 3 classes using a point-buy system. They also pick freely from one of the 3 armor types. The Adept Rogue starts out in the game with their first chosen class, and must unlock the remainder through Job Extend. An Adept Rogue is given 5 points to use to choose from the following job options:
    Blade Brandier - 1 Point
    Edge Punisher - 1 Point
    Twin Blade - 1 Point
    Flick Reaper - 2 Points
    Lord Partizan - 2 Points
    Tribal Grappler - 2 Points
    Archer - 2 Points
    Macabre Dancer - 3 Points
    Harvest Cleric - 3 Points
    Shadow Warlock - 3 Points
    Steam Gunner - 3 Points
    Dual Gunner - 3 Points

    Armor:
Robes: The classes that use them are Macabre Dancers, Harvest Clerics, and Shadow Warlocks.
Light Armor: The classes that use them are Twin Blades, Blade Brandiers, Steam Gunners, Dual Gunners, Archers and Tribal Grapplers.
Heavy Armor: The classes that use them are Edge Punishers, Flick Reapers, and Lord Partizans.

    Terms:

Arcreux: An organization made up of AI's (Artifical Intelligence) and players that formed from the deepest shadows of The World. CC Corp doesn't know much on them except for the fact that they cause trouble for players in the fields and in Root Towns and are also looking for something. As to what that something may be, they are uncertain.

Aura: Aura is the ultimate AI. She receded into The World's sea of data to sleep and leave the future of The World in the hands of the players. She currently exists as the system of The World, and wishes the players to decide their own destiny.

PK: Player Killer. Most PKs kill for sport, not for purpose.

PKK: Player Killer Killer. One who specifically hunts and kills others who maliciously kill players.

Servers: A Server is a computer system that is accessed by other computers. In The World all Dungeons, fields, Monsters, and treasure, namely every part of the game is stored on one of the games servers. At the center of each server is a Root Town, where players gather to form parties, buy, sell, and trade items, raise Grunties, and do pretty much everything that doesn't involve fields or dungeons. Fields and other servers can be accessed from the root town through the use of the Chaos Gate, usually located in a central location of the town, by using a combination of key words.

    Root Towns:
Δ Delta Server, with Root Town Mac Anu. This is the beginner level Root Town.
Θ Theta Server, with Root Town Dol Dona. This is the intermediate level Root Town.
Ω Omega Server, with Root Town Lumina Cloth. This is for the Arena only. There are no areas to train except for the Arena.
Σ Sigma Server, with Root Town Breg Epona. This is the expert level Root Town.

    The Arena:
The Arena has three different levels: The Demon Palace, the Holy Palace, and the Sage Palace. Each palace is a higher level than the last. Demon Palace is for low level players, Holy Palace is for intermediate level players, and the Sage Palace is for high level players. There is an Emperor for each Palace. The Emperor can change from tournaments. With tournaments, teams of three compete to win. The winner of the tournament is allowed to face the current Emperor to become the new one. The Emperor of one palace has to relinquish his title to be allowed to compete in a tournament of a higher palace.

    Guilds:
A Guild is basically a group of players with the same interests joining together. Guilds are composed of one guildmaster, members, and a grunty. The grunty looks similar to the guildmaster. Guilds can increase in rank, which makes them of a higher status. The guild’s headquarters called @homes. They are located at the Delta, Theta, or Sigma Servers based on their rank. If guilds become big enough, they receive their own Area Word location.

Events/Quests: They can be done by groups of people. I’ll occasionally come up with one. PM me if you have one you want to have done.

Job Extend Quests: These are only for Adept Rouges and Archers. Once completed, the Adept Rouge and Archers have access to the next class that was picked.

Epitaph Users: Only rare people with compatible personalities, known as "Chosen Ones", can become Epitaph Users. "Chosen Ones" have a connection emotionally to the Avatar they're compatible with. When "awoken", Epitaph Users can call forth their respective Phase and fight in Avatar Space, an extra dimension that exists outside of the perception of normal users, but parallel to and in direct interaction with the rest of The World.*

    The Eight Epitaphs:

    Skeith: "The Terror of Death"

    Innis: "The Mirage of Deceit"

    Magus: "The Propagation"

    Fidchell: "The Prophet"

    Gorre: "The Machinator"

    Macha: "The Temptress"

    Tarvos: "The Avenger"

    Corbenik: "The Rebirth"

Data Drain: This is an ability used by the Epitaphs. It can extract data and rewrite it. It is used to defeat Arcreux and other Epitaphs. To activate, a Protect Break needs to happen.

Lost Weapons: These are weapons available only to the eight Epitaph Users. The Epitaph User needs to unlock it with enough Addler Keys, and then defeat the monster that guards it. The weapons also need to be upgraded with Virus Cores. Once fully upgraded, the Epitaph User needs to defeat a stronger version of the monster that originally guarded the weapon.

CC Corp:The CyberConnect Corporation, or CC Corp for short, is the game company that released The World, its beta Fragment, its sequel The World R:2, and The World R:4.75

Rengeki:When an enemy takes enough hits, they will be able to be hit by a Rengeki. They allow Arts and other spells to deal more damage

Awakening:A special attack. There are multiple types of Awakenings.

Beast Awakening:Speeds up the attack rate of the party members, preventing enemies from counterattacking.

Demon Awakening: Repeatedly casts spells at the enemy. Since the enemy is being hit by these, they can’t do anything.

Divine Awakening: Can only be used with a party containing three members. It gets stronger based on the friendship of the three party members.

Avatar Awakening: An upgraded form of Divine Awakening. Can only be used by Epitaph Users. The Epitaph User uses Data Drain, causing massive damage. If it is a monster that is hit, they release Virus Cores.

    Rules:

    NO SPAMMING!
No Mary-Sue characters. You’re all regular people, and as such they aren’t perfect.
In the beginning, every character will be a low level, and as such, only the Delta Server will be available at first.
Area Words are used to travel to areas to train. They are made using the name of the server and a combination of three other words. Example: Δ Calm Buzzing Hades.
There are Eight Epitaphs, and as such, only eight people can be them. It’s a first come first serve type of thing.
The Epitaph Users cannot use their Epitaphs at the beginning. They need to be awoken.
Romance will be allowed. But remember that your characters are playing a video game.

Alright, I've held off from joining things long enough. I am NOT going to let another good roleplay go away from me! I am somewhat familiar with .Hack mythos, but not very. I've read one story and two volumes of a one-shot manga about .Hack and like. . . the first volume of Twilight.

    Real Name: Angela Renata

    Character Name:

    Class: Tribal Grappler

    Age: 17

Appearance: Wind Summoner by ~sinziar on deviantART

Real life Appearance: Make a Spell come t r u e. by *cherriuki on deviantART

History: Angela Renata was a good athlete in school. Always tried out and always made it on the teams, though she really ever tried out for soccer. She wasn't the best or the worst, but she put her heart into what she did. Unfortunately, her body couldn't keep up. On one particular match, a normally harmless injury became malign, and she lost nervous control over her legs. At first, she treated the affair rather well, even laughing at it. But the reality soon dawned on her. No more athletics. No more easy-peasy trips to the store. No more feeling the sand between her toes at the beach. Nothing. Needless to say, this devastated the girl. Angela became reclusive in her social life, and never bothered to make calls back even to her best friends. She never went back to school either, though she did get her work delivered to her by a friend. One of her best friends, in fact. This friend saw Angela in need, and suggested a game that they had just started playing. The World. The girl never found interest in games before, but her friend persisted, and then Angela relented.

If anybody wants to be that friend, please VM me.

this is gonna be good, I'm sure this will survive. I do not see the point in History, this is dot hack so do we really need history, just saying. Also like Requim, I've only played Infection but know every basic thing i need to because of the descriptions and .Hack 4/koma + joke champion, really funny book. Do you want me to man temps, cause i can do it, any ways here's mine

Real life name- Natalia Ever lost
    Game name- Malceia
    Class- Axe Dancer
Axe Dancer- A player who dances with an axe, dealing good damage to it, can wield elements in their attacks too. Has medium defense, low attack, high magical attacks and defense, and medium hp, high sp
    Age- 15
    Game- 17

    Game appearance-
    [IMG]

Real life- Natalia stands at 4'11, despite being 15 and weighs only 96 pounds, has long beautiful curly hair that reaches down to her shoulders, and light blue eyes. Natalia usually wears a white collared polo shirt made by her father, on top a black jacket that has fur on the inside and many pockets for her to use, and a specially made bracelet that she had hand made from her father. She also wears long black pants that go down to her feet, on the bottom, red shoes with black and white lines crossed over them come together on the tip of her shoe

Personality- In real life, Natalia is kind and gentle to all those around her and her pet dog. Why? because she likes to be kind to others in hopes of getting rewards for her efforts and wishes. An example would be that she donates her money to the poor. In the game though Natalia is like the devil, killing everything in her path. Why? because her friends were PKS and almost killed her. An example would be that she whacks monsters with her axe gracefully.

History- Natalia was born 15 years before 2011 on May 2, to her loving dad, Richard Ever lost, a woodsmen in the city, and her mother Evaglene, a creator. When she was 2, her family moved to the neighborhood(mind if i put it next to some one else) of Rina and almost never interacted with others, in fact no one watched her move there. At the age of 15, she was introduced to the World by her teacher, Na'se Glbregh and created the character Malceia who was almost killed twice before she even got the chance to level. One was a virus that killed Na'se, the other Na'se himself

Got permission from black rose to do this so I will

Magic, you earn it by doing quests and reaching a certain level, alas the magic matches what level and skill your on. Some examples below, I hope you all don't do this in the beginning except for magical people they already know it

Fire- Burn (Lv 5) to Hellish flames burn them all(Lv 60)
Water- Healing bubbles(Lv 5) to scared water, flood them (Lv 60)
Earth- Spear of earth (Lv 5) to scared rocks, crush them all (Lv 60)
Wind- Wind blades (Lv 5) to Winds of thousands, destroy them all (Lv 60)

You get the idea but it's a point system for you to chose what you want to have as magic, these are the basic elements, special elements such as darkness are only used in the arena. Yes water is some what the healing magic I'll explain more later in my next post

Roxel, I hate you so much for picking Skeith.

Oh, and Roaringflames, I'd suggest playing the three G.U. games. Since lots of the stuff here is taken from the .hack RP I tried making before. I had based that one off of the G.U. games, since those are the ones I've played and am most familiar with. One of the differences being the magic you talked about in the post above this one. There were different spells in G.U. and were only available to certain classes.

    Real Name: Tom

    Character Name: Gerik

    Class: Adept Rouge

Adept Rouge/Archer Classes: Blade Brandier. Twin Blade. Dual Gunner (Figured I'd save the best for last).

    Age: 18

    Appearance: [IMG]

    Real life Appearance: [IMG]

History: Tom has lived in the same place all his life. His life has been kinda boring to him. He'd just do the same thing every day. Go to school, go home, sleep, repeat. He originally wanted to play The World R:2, but at that time the Third Network Crisis occured. So he put off playing it, instead sticking with regular video games. Once CC Corp created The World R:4.75, Tom quickly got a copy and began playing it. The game amazed him. It was much larger than any video game he ever played before.

Yayyyy desert warrior joined =D and roaringflames I added axe dancer to the original post. Plus I forgot to add a leveling system. Do you think 5 posts per level is enough or 10?
And here's anotha character I'm throwing on in:

    Real Name: Akeru Terada
    Character Name: Sophillia
    Class: Axe Dancer
    Age: 15
    Appearance:

    Real life Appearance:

History: One of the friends that pressured Rina and convinced Renata into playing The World. She's Rina's and Renata's best friend to be exact. They have been friends since the first grade. Because Akeru's father works at CC Corp, she was able to get the game for free.

Of course. I like the changes you made.

It depends. We might have somebody doing some large quest that will take several posts to go through. Don't you think they should gain more than one level? And then sometimes people will go through several posts of either staying in a root town or in the real world. Should they gain levels for that?

It is easier to simplify things such as leveling up, but it is also better to make sure everything is sorted out so there aren't any questions down the line.

Hmmm...how would you handle leveling up?

  14. Desert Warrior

Probably every couple of posts somebody does while in an area where they can fight monsters they level up. It also depends on if you want people to go where there are monsters that are much stronger than the character is at the time.

On the matter of levels, I say hav them do it every 5 posts when they are fighting monsters or something

All chracters accepted. I was joking on th magic but the point system may be good what's every bodies opinion on it

I could go find a full list of the magic spells and weapon arts, although Archer and Axe Dancer abilities would need to be thought up and Dual Gunner abilities also need to be thought up, since there's only one in the G.U. games.

As for actually getting magic spells and weapon arts, we could do it the way G.U. did it. Basically you have a weapon rank. All beginning characters have a rank of 1 (As for Job Extension stuff for Adept Rogues, it is a bit different for each new job extension). Basically all you do is keep on using whatever magic spells or weapon arts you have. Once you do that enough, you gain a rank. Sometimes you will learn a new spell or art when you get a rank up (It all depends on what your class is). For the non-magic class, once you hit a weapon rank of 20, you learn the final weapon art. For the next 10 ranks, that final art costs fewer SP (Basically MP) to use and it gets stronger. As for the magic classes, they don't get a 'final' spell. Instead they keep on learning spells, and each specific class is more proficient in types of spells. For example, Harvest Clerics are the best at healing spells, so only they learn the best healing spell. Whereas Shadow Warlocks are best at offensive spells, so they learn the most powerful attacking spells.

    Ghost Falcon. Job Lvl. 21

    Dual Gunner arts:
    Justice. Job Lvl. 21
    Judgement. Double Trigger.

Okay, so obviously some arts will need to be made up for Dual Gunners. As for the Double Trigger, basically the way it works is that after the character has done an art, they can perform the Double Trigger and do a bit more damage. If an Adept Rogue has the Dual Gunner option, then they can do it after doing any arts, and when they do the Double Trigger they automatically switch to the Dual Gunner mode.
