A elementalist in training eh? Well while he may have described his powers he hasn't showns us a demonstration. Only one way to go with it then. "Dance, Rai," he whispered calling his blade into existence. He then charged at dunes back with his blade angled down and to the side. "Oi! Look out behind you!" Kane roared at Dune. "Let's see what you got."

    >Zerieth, since this is in the Advance section you gotta have more lines. The rule is 6 or something.<

"If we were gonna train I could've done it in a safer way." Gerik muttered.

"What do you mean?" One of the people nearby asked.

"Oh, it's something my dad did for training. Basically he'd take sand and make it look like a blade. I would then spar with somebody using the blades while my dad watched. The blades would remain solid until they were about to hit somebody. Then as they hit somebody my dad made them break apart." Gerik thought about his explanation for a moment. "Perhaps explaining it isn't good enough. I should probably just show you." Gerik took some of the sand out of his pouch. He shaped it into a thin stick. He then swung down at his own arm. Where the sand would have touched his arm it instead broke apart to go past him without touching him. Once it was past his arm, the sand reformed itself into the stick. "The only problem is that the amount of sand required to do this is proportional to the size of the object. And the only way I can get more sand is by creating a sandstorm, which may not be a good idea in this area. My dad, on the other hand, is able to conjur up sand whenever he feels like it. Basically anything I can do, he can do so much better."

"What the Hell!?" before He get close enough, Dune grabs Mokona off his head, then in a concintrated stream of light, he dissapears. The stream of light zigzagged all over the place, creating streams of electricity in every which direction, till finally one stream hit the ground about about 25 feet away from where he was originally. Dune quickly puts Mokona down "Run over to him." He pointed at Gerik. Mokona scampered off staying a ways away from Kane, till he finally made it to Gerik where he procceeds to jump up on his shoulder.

"I sure hope this is just training!" Dune quickly pulls out his sword and puts it in a guard position. The sword wasn't producing any electricity at the time, it still needed time recharge after the teleport. "And if you where wondering, my sword collects the magnetic pulse around it, building it's electric power."

    >Yaaaaaa but I was with ellen and I wanted to go spend more time with her. Sides I'm not good at opening combat scenes.<

"Well of course its training, but if you suck enough you just might get killed. I want to see how you do while your life is on the line." Kane was impressed with this kids speed and reaction time. Now it was time to observe his judgement.

He brought his weapon down, pointing at the ground, then spun it up and around. A column of wind blasted away from him, and shot straight for Dune. "Dodge this one then kid. I bet you can't just teleport all over the place. And that sword of yours won't even get a chance to recharge."

Kane ducked in under his own attack though he was obscured by the dust that ended up in the stream. He tried to keep his sense on Dune but his own attack obscure his sensory input. Feeling someones aura under normal circumstances was all well and good, but he never had been good at that stuff and these definitely weren't normal circumstances. Two minutes of this kid. You just gotta live for two minutes and I might be impressed.

"I really don't want to hurt you!" Notices the size of the column and it's speed coming for him. "Crap!" dune threw his sword in the the ground to where it still stands upright and started to think quick 'What do I do?...Wait, my guns. If I hit it...' as Dune continues to think he quickly pulls out his guns and aims his right gun at the top, and the left at the bottom. "Ever see opposite element magic collide?" Fires ice at the top and fire at the bottom. 'Cold falls, but heat rises, and when the two mix....Kaboom!' The winds get's infested and halved by fire and ice, heat and cold. In mere seconds the heat rises the fire spell up, and the cold lowers the ice spell, creating a massive explosion canceling out the Wind. The explosion left a thick and dark cloud in between the two fighters.

Suddenly, and without warning, two lights appear in the cloud. One blue and white, and the other orange and red. They seem to rotate around each other in the cloud. The two pop out of the cloud doing a dance around the other. Till the fire fly's into the air about him while the ice turns into a large jagged shard. The fire plummets back down leaving a red aura that floats in to the sky. The fire breaks the ice apart, making a blue aura float into the sky, making it go down towards Kane in a bit of an odd fashion.

    >If your wondering, the aura was the magic leaving the element<

"A friendly little fight. Now that I think about it, I'm curious as to how their feeling. Perhaps their auras will give some insight into that. Eye of Horus." Gerik closed his eyes. When he opened them, they were different. What Gerik saw was different as well. He could see both Kane's and Dune's auras, each flaming a different color. "There's some excitement between them. I wonder if I can mess with them a bit, just to keep them on their feet." Gerik clutched his hand, activating another one of his spells. He didn't make it noticeable, but moved the ground a tiny bit. The ground shifted up underneath half of Dune's feet, pushing him off balance. Gerik turned to Mokona, his eye spell still active. "Hey, Yuko said that she keeps the black Mokona in case we need to communicate with her. How does that work? Could you call her up, just as a demonstration?"

"Mokona won't just call her for no reason silly," Mokona replied looking down on Gerik. "She said if we needed anything, not just to chat."

Meanwhile Kane was having the time of his life. With his air column negated in a quite spectaculor fashion, and a ice spell dropping down on him, there was only one thing to do. "Dance on Silent Wings," Kane said sliding a hand down his sword, "Rai Den." The blade glowed white then shrank into a wicked looking assassins knife. With a wrist flick a second as revealed and switched into his other hand. He jumped forward, avoiding the surprise earth tremor by sheer force of luck more than anything, and did a fast spin in mid air. Two discs of compressed wind shot straight out to the ice aura, chopping it into pieces. Kane landed lightly, almost lost his balance, then charged forward. He saw Dune falling and quickly took advantage of the fact by putting his knife to Dune's throat.

"You, are a worthy opponent." Kane said gasping. Using so much aura at once had worn on him. This kid was good, better than some of the people he'd sparred with. "But your still dead. If I hadn't released my weapon the positions would be reversed." He wasn't sure, but Kane thought Gerik had something to do with the tremor. The timing had been so exact.

Kane let his weapons fade, then extended a hand to help Dune up.

A bit of anger and confusion eluminates in his eyes as he looks up at Kane. Dune stares at him for a few seconds then takes his hand and gets up. "Yeah, well I wouldn't be if it wasn't for that unusual tremor. And next time, please warn me before you try and 'train' again." Started brushing off his shoulders of dust from the ground "I'll say this now, I'm not the kind to hurt someone, unless there is no other options." Walks over to his sword and picks it up, putting it back in it's sheath. "What's worse, I don't even know either of your names. Ushinawa, Ushinawa Ko. Please just call me Dune." Puts his hand out to Kane.

Mokona starts hoping up and down on Geriks head "Mokona is Mokona!" Mokona jumps over onto Dunes head.

    >And yet he's done it before. Just sayin'. So much for what I was trying to do. I'll just have to do it later. Don't worry about it. Oh, and did we ever introduce ourselves to each other? Kane knew Dune's name, but Dune said he doesn't know our names. Looking back, we never did. So I edited any post where our characters spoke another character's name. Oh, and I find it funny that Kane is calling Dune kid even though Dune is 2 years older.<

Gerik sighed. "Oh well, if you insist." He straightened up as Mokona jumped off of him. Gerik recalled the auras he saw as Kane and Dune fought. "Even though it was brief, it looked as though a fire lit up inside of each of them. And Dune's weapons. He wasn't kidding about the elemental coating thing. I wonder if it has the chance to wear off. And I wonder if those weapons can enhance their abilities. Not like they need them though." Gerik closed his eyes, deactivating his eye spell, wondering if anybody noticed him use it. Anybody besides Mokona that is. "Gerik." Gerik spoke his name to the two. "Looking at you two makes it seem like I'm the youngest of the group. What fun."

    >When he's talking about the weapons enhancing people's abilities, he's talking about certain individuals from his world.<

    >We heard our names spoken at Yukos. Kane is good at names. He's also and ass hole and thinks just about everyone is a kid so long as they haven't thumped him. Mokona is a free spirit if you hadn't noticed. He does what ever when ever.<

"Holister Kane. Just call me Kane," Kane added. "Nice to meet you all. I'm sure we'll get along well," Just don't hold me back. Anyone who gets in my way shall feel the power of the Mirage Dancer, he finished in his head. "I guess you guys simply wish to get home again, and maybe pick up some more skills along the way. I don't personally mind that but I have an important mission. I won't expect any help from you though some would be greatly appreciated. Likewise I am open to be of help to you two though I will stay out of your way if you wish it. Just don't try to stop me from doing what I'm doing, and I won't interfere with what you two are up to." It was a long winded speech, but Kane felt he needed to say it.

    >And how! That is one of the reasons I like Mokona so much, he is always moving and free. He is just so fun to watch<

"Nice to meet both of you! I'm sure we can help each other out in some way." But try and kill some one without need and you'll have to deal with me....Maby this is why Fern thinks I would be good as the leader. As both Gerik and Kane are not focusing directly on him, he quickly closes his eyes and breathes deep. Then opens them again with his happy composure back. I don't know if I can be leader, but I do know I need to return! He looks at both of them and says "So I guess we should find out more about this Dragon. It's sounds like it would be fun to fight!"

Mokona starts hoping on top of Dune's Head "Mokona hungry! Mokona think we should eat!"

Dune looks up at mokona and says "Yeah now that you mention it, I'm kind of hungry myself."

    >Unless you have a different post at Yuko's than I do, the only name spoken was Kana's. But it really doesn't matter.<

"What a wonderful start." Gerik thought sarcastically. "I get the feeling they're just smiling to hide some dangerous thought. Better keep an eye on them both. I would hate for things to escalate into a serious fight." Gerik turned to one of the soldiers. "Soooo... Where is this dragon we're prophecised to defeat?"

"Over yonder in that mountain range." The soldier pointed to. "We don't know terribly much about the dragon, since each time we've tried to kill it we suffered heavy losses. And we've never actually made it to the dragon's home. That damn beast would smell us out long before we could reach him. He'd fly out to greet us."

"Well then, I guess we're gonna have to take the fight to him. Don't you guys worry about anything. We'll take care of it."

"And we are eternally grateful. But before you go, please come and feast with us. We have a feast to celebrate your arrival."

"Aren't feasts usually for the slaying of the dragon?"

"We'll have an even grander feast for when the dragon is slain."

"So in other words you don't think we'll make it but you wanna give us our concilation prize before we're char broiled." Was what he would have said but the situation called for tact. After all, he might just end up pissing off an entire battalion. Not a good idea.

"Sounds good. Lead the way." After saying these words Kane finally began to notice how hungry he was. With Kana gone he'd been put on leave as he was still to heart sick to even draw his weapon into it's weakest of forms. Sending him into the field would have been sending him to die, and the A.M.S. didn't work that way. Kane hadn't eaten much more than was absolutely necessary to keep his heart beating. Now that he had hope again he was back to his normal self, but he was still starved. Maybe a feast would be just the ticket.

Starts walking with the soldiers looking at the very dessolent area. 'This place is so bleak. It must be from all the civil wars that have taken place.' Dune thought to himself. 'The last time I have seen a place this bad was before entering the Witches castle. I never knew a place could be so...dead. Anyways...Hey wait...I just thought of something.' Dune starts looking around at all the people who where fighting as he continued thinking 'If this is all over a single Dragon, and trying to find the people phrophecied to kill it, then why was everyone at war all of a sudden? Why would they fight each other, when they could use that power to fight the Dragon...'

Mokona looks down at Dune and says "Mokona know dune is thinking about something, Mokona want to know! Mokona want to know!"

Dune starts petting Mokona's head and starts laughing. "As a matter of fact, I am thinking about something." Dune looks at one of the soldiers as he is walking along "Hey, I have a question. Why are you guys fighting each other out here?"

"Sorry what? Oh you thought we were all against each other. No we're from the same army actually. A cease fire is in affect right now between our lord and the other neighboring lords. We were doing a training battle for our new generals. You'll meet them at the feast I'm sure. We're currently at war with the other lords of the land for the right to rule. Our last ruler attempted to will off the nation to one of the five great lords, however their was corruption to the paper the will was written on and the name was lost. The prophecy states that the ones who defeat the great beast will be the ones to decide the next ruler. I'm not sure if that will be enough though. If you'll excuse me," and the soldier hurried off to complete his other duties.

Kane walked up to Dune as he'd heard the exchange. "I was confused at first to but then I noticed that their armor and weapons were manufactured in the same way. Unless everyone gets their gear from the same people, which is unlikely, all the different trims and trappings that go with an army would be slightly different. Don't worry about it since the only way I noticed was that I have a friend who was an armorer back in my world. He told me how to look for different signs on armors and weapons that manufacturers left behind as a signature of their work. I guess that sort of thing is the same no matter were you go." Kane shrugged, then walked ahead into the grand hall.

The building was actually just a load of timber built up and supported by large wooden pillars. Seven large tables and benches were placed out in rows while a smaller table with chairs was set up on a raised dais. Five places were laid out, no doubt for then two generals and the guests of honor. Already soldiers were filling the benches, and large platters of roasted pig, duck, and massive helpings of other such things were laid out. The soldiers ate off of iron plates with wooden utensils while the guests of honor ate with silver silver ware and plates. "Wow, these guys know how to throw a party."

"Isn't that just wonderful? We get to pick the next guy to rule, even though we don't know anybody here. I hope we're not gonna influence the fate of every world we visit." Gerik and everybody stood by their places, waiting for the leader to give some speech before everybody sits down and eats.

"Friends. Comrades." A man spoke up, immediately silencing the crowd. "Today is a special day. For it is this day that the three prophesied heroes have appeared. No longer shall we perform our day-to-day activities in constant fear of the beast. Our lands shall be unified under one banner once again, just as it had been centuries before. It is for this day that we have awaited our salvation. And now, let us feast. Feast for the new day where we no longer fear the beast that has ravaged our lands. Feast, for this new tomorrow is upon us."

I think they are depending on us a bit too much. What if we don't win? as he is thinking, he looks around to everyone sitting at there table listening as hard as they can to the man standing next to all three of them. Dune shifts his head over a little, trying to keep people from noticing him doing so, and he saw the man speaking. Crap, some of these people look like they could do it themselves. For such powerful looking people, you would think they could decide on a leader themselves. Dune stands lifeless for a second with a chill going down his spine as a memory comes back to him.

    Tree fort: Destiny; Dune's world

A young Dune and Fern are sitting at the top of a tree looking at the beautiful night sky. The two of them are in the middle of a conversation.

"So how do we decide the next leader?" Dune asked Fern.

"Well, in most cases, before the current leader dies, he chooses who will be next." said Fern.

"What if the current leader dies before he can say who will be the next in line?"

"Well then the elders would decided. They are very wise, and can help a lot in those kind of problems"

"Oh! Then you will choose the next person! Right?"

"Right. I'm still deciding......How about you?"

"Wait! What?! I-i can't be the new leader! What about Boulder?"

"That hard head? I would never make you guys suffer that." Starts laughing hard.

Dune doesn't get the joke so he continues frantically, while Fern continues laughing.

    Tavern: world 2

He just kept laughing. I never did get the joke. I guess he wasn't kidding... Dune Chuckles a little.

"Hey!" Yelled mokona from down at the table. "He finished the speech. Everyone is sitting down!"

Dune looks around shocked to see everyone sitting down already. Getting a little embarrassed Dune quickly sits down.

"So. You're a general right?" Kane asked with his usual poor ability at small talk.

"That's correct. I'm General Leon Swagger. Call me Leon," The general replied shaking hands with Kane.

"So why does it need to be us to kill this dragon of yours? I mean you guys have a lot of soldiers."

"That's because none of us can do magic. Only the emperor could, but so far none of us have managed to cast so much as a single spell."

"So then shouldn't we be finding a magic user then?" Kane asked quizically.

"You guys first have to establish your skills. After that you will be accepted. The dragon is but a test."

    Yay for me.

"Establish our skills?" Gerik thought to himself. "Didn't Dune and Kane already do that? And as for myself, I can't show everything off. Not for a stupid reason. Gotta remember to tell Kane to make the wind blow away from the dragon's mountain. Just so the dragon won't sniff us out before we actually reach the mountain." Gerik looked at the food. "Oooohhhh. Mashed potatoes. Awesome." Gerik grabbed a big serving. "Haven't had a meal like this for a while now." Gerik piled some more food onto his plate before he began eating.

--Flashback-- (Simply because I can't think of anything else to reach the 6 lines)

    "What's all this for?"

    "Today's a celebration."

    "What are we celebrating?"

"It was this day, a very long time ago, that our people finally settled down and built this kingdom."

    "Why did they settle down?"

"Your ancestor. He was traveling all alone and lost. He was rescued by the leader of our people. Eventually, your ancestor became the leader. And here we are now."

Mokona is sitting on the table, surrounded by food, eating noodles out of a very fancy bowl with a large amount of markings on it, all in a pattern of what looks like characters. "Yum!"

Dune looks over at Mokona and sees the bowl he is eating out of. A bit perplexed he asks "Hey Mokona, where did you get that bowl? It doesn't look like something that would be made here. Mostly because of the characters on the side."

"This is Mokona's bowl! Bowl says "Yummy time fun!". The letters are Kanji!" Mokona said with a smile.

"Kanji eh? Looks alot like how we write our characters in my world. A few less strokes on some, and they would be perfectly alike." Dune said. Thinking for a second then looks at everyone at the table and asks "Wait, then that must mean each of can have a different language we hail from."
