Why do people seem to hate this movie?
I finally got to watch it today, and saw little problems with it.
And saying that, they weren't that horribly big problems.

In saying that, the problem I had with it was the corniness of the whole gaia thing, that and how close it was to the lifestream.
Also, it was kind of annoying having characters that looked real, to characters that didn't.
That threw me off a bit.
Also, I couldn't tell if they where going for a horror/suspense or just action/adventure.

    Now for the pro's.
The animation was fantastic, but noticeable.
    The story was interesting.
The Twist was a nice touch, unlike most movies that do a fake out, they actually stuck to it, and I feel as though that set them apart.
    The characters where well written.
The voice actors where good choices, but Hades as the main villain, really?

Over all it is really what I expected from Square.

Now I know you may be thinking 'oh well your just a mega fan that loves all Square games and movies.'
    Well, that just not true.
Didn't like 4,8,11,12,13. (I think it was four that had the impossible to preform blitz move.)
Also I really don't like most of the Crystal Chronicles, especially the first.

Over all, I would give the movie an 8/10

So what do you guys think?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong place)

I had that movie when I was six (Or was it eight?). At first, I thought that Aki Ross was an older version of Rinoa (You know...Rinoa being the one with all of the sorceress powers, Aki Ross using herself as the vessel for the spirits. The hair similarities.). Don't look at me! I was very young! It took me at the age of ten to realize that Aki Ross and Rinoa are two separate beings. I find it very weird that everything was in the future and that the "Old" America was gone and that there were a "New" America.

I also thought that it was so ridiculous that the monsters cannot be destroyed. Now that I think on it, it is just like fighting a shadow heartless without a keyblade and that the weapon just went right through if I had to find a better meaning for what I have to give opinion on the battles. As for the lifestream part, I only had FFVII for a few months now so I didn't even know anything about a lifestream. To me at that young age, Gaia was just the earth and the flowing energy.

You couldn't tell based on the fact that they have two completely different names?

I haven't ever seen this movie, mostly because I'd heard it's complete crap and those reviews scared me away from it. I'd guess, just from hearing about it, that people dislike it so much because it isn't what they think of when they think "Final Fantasy." I think if the movie had just been called "The Spirits Within" but advertised as being by the creators of the Final Fantasy game series, it might have been better liked by FF fans. Assuming, of course, that the story and characters and all that is decent.

DX I thought that Rinoa went and had a name change! I was real young!

Anyways, the movie was ok. I like how they connect the dreams to reality and as to what the next mission the crew has to take. The fighting part was an epic fail. We have never seen the good side win until Aki's lover sacrificed himself to actually destroy the enemies.

I would agree that that was the big problem.
People seem to get into such a rampage when a movie has the name of a game.
I especially find it weird, because no main game final Fantasy are the same in story.
Whose to say this wasn't legitimate.
Now granted, some stuff was just plain odd, but then you think about worse things Enix has done.
    Like Cloud cross dressing.

I think I only saw parts of it once. I don't really remember much of it, mainly that the villain (Or guy who tries to do good but is a complete moron) was voiced by the guy who voiced Hades in Disney's version of Hercules.
