End of the JRPG?

    I hope they don't die. Yes, they seems strange. And yes, the characters have too many belts and zippers. But there is something about them that makes them enjoyable. Maybe the blatant obviousness about how unrealistic they are. But they are still great games for the most part. I don't think anybody but the Japanese could come up with things like them. FLCL......

    You're not saying that Tetsuya Nomura is the only character designer of JRPG right?

    I agree about the part that makes you enjoy it. Maybe the anime-ish characters that make me enjoy the game.

    The writer of this article obviously never played Persona series.

    Nope. Just a joke of one of my friends. 'bout making JRPG characters looking different by adding more belts and zippers.

    Makes sense. Even Square drifts away from the JRPG. Look at FFXIII. Futuristic, Guns, Soldiers, even the characters are looking less and less Asian (just some quick arguable examples from the tip of my tongue).
    RPG's are appearing to become more and more Western these Days. Now with new technology, we can also make things appear more realistic on the screen so a more realistic game is now introduced.
